Here's a little Saturday morning fun for ya...

Our first pass of Founders pins are in!  Which one does everyone like the most?

I'm kinda digging the darker wood on the left.  Really makes the Running Man pop!

Thoughts?

Let me know your favorite and why.

Definitely the darker wood pin. That looks even better than I expected.

They both look great though.

The darker is a better match to my 2609.  The other one looks good, but more like the Atari VCS Woodgrain with a touch of red....

What's interesting is some shots show only adults playing the Intellivision (presumably showing adult friends playing each other).  In most game console ads there is always at least 1 kid playing the console in every shot, either against other kids or adults that are implied to be parents.

The one on the left that really looks like the woodgrain Intellivision.

I dont identify that reddish color on the right with the Intellivision at all!

Something in between like the original rendering would be better. Less gloss, and more medium brown. The one on the right looks too caramel, the left a little too dark.

Again, I prefer less gloss. But enough nitpicking. Any should be fine.

Thanks for the answers, and hey no apologies are necessary! I learned what I wanted to know, it shows that you're willing to take the time to answer your customers, and now Atari Age readers have insight on the massive ongoing activity at Intellivision.  Well done!

As for Corona, that's out of everyone's control.  Quite frankly, I'm glad that Intellivision Entertainment is powerful enough to withstand this pandemic tidal wave.  I've waited 35 years for a rebooted Intellivision console, so what's a few more months?

Thanks again and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

ps - Did you mention in previous posts that you like root beer? Probably so, since I've yet to find an American who doesn't.
Have you tried Original New York Seltzer? Their root beer is fantastic!

Thanks!  Yeah... the team here is pretty proud that we've been able to accomplish all of the things we have during the most difficult work and economy of our lifetimes.  I think it really says a lot about the validity of the concept and idea and how many people/investors, etc. are behind it.

I'm familiar with the New York Seltzer name and label, but haven't tried it yet.  Will need to do so!  Thanks for the tip and thank you for your support and understanding!

I think Toobin would be good on Amico, especially the way the 4 buttons are set out on the controller, what do you think?

How-D All,

I agree with everyone so far, DIGGING the dark wood look! It looks like it should match closely with the Founder's Edition consoles.

Another Great Job by You and the Team Tommy!

Please share these wishes to You and Yours, and the whole Team there, for a Happy and safe 2020 Holiday season, and a prosperous New Year, from Me and Mine here in Texas.

B

p.s. - Hope everything keeps on track for April!

My birthday falls right within Your current scheduled countdown, so I may miss out on my Amico birthday recognition this year, but it will still be a wonderful gift to have right around my birthday time!

Thank you for the well wishes and support!!!!!!!

Tommy,

haven't read many questions/information about the pool/billard game on your system, so I hope you can share some facts here: Will motion control be involved in a way? Will it also contain some "wacky fun modes" (e.g. adding obstacles)? Will there also be pit pat tables (mixture between pool & miniature golf)?

Hi!

We are still messing around with the motion controls for Pool.  Haven't decided 100% yet.  If we do, you will have 2 options as the touch screen controls are really great... so those will definitely be staying.

We have a few cool ideas with the motion control stuff as well though.

We have some fun co-op and versus ideas in this one, but nothing wacky.  This first one will be more of the basic stuff, but the plan is that the next one with those guys will be more of what you are talking about (wacky - mini golf meets pool, etc.)

Yeah... we tried it without the gloss and it just looked really cheap for some reason.  None of us really liked it.  We think it's because a little gloss really brings out the lines in the wood.

The darker one is actually a little lighter than what the picture shows.

Tommy,

Are you still considering sending out testing units for Amico?  If so, are you going to tell us on here who will be getting one?  Or is it by email?  Also, do we have to pay for the testing unit?  Lastly, will we be able to keep the testing unit?

We have 10 units that we are going to place with 10 families.   Hopefully by the end of the year.

They will be hand-picked people that meet the criteria of our goals and placed with the families.  They don't need to pay and they will not get to keep them.

Hopefully it gets changed but if not that's okay.

We might just keep the 1979 date, but if we keep them both, then it would be 2021 for sure.

Okay,

My wife likes the darker one on the left, "more contrast".

My daughter (age 5) likes the one on the right, "I like light things".

I like both, staying neutral.

I think the reason the one on the left looks less defined is due to camera blur.  It looks slightly out of focus.

Yes.  You are correct.  The darker one on the left is not as sharp looking due to a very slight camera blur on the angle.  I used the MICRO setting on the camera and probably shouldn't have.

They are both Nice..  But I would have to go with the one on the left.. It seems to more closely match the original.  How about posting a PIC with one of the FE Amicos?

Hi Tommy,

I know this is a long shot but what about “I Robot” from Atari. As far as I know it has never been on another console or computer, it would be great to have it on Amico as a first ever exclusive. 👍😀
