Has IE talked with WayForward about possibly working together? They've got a huge amount of experience in the family and "retro" spheres.

Merry Christmas to all!  ... a day late.. I forgot to post yesterday. 🤭

Here is this year's "Retro Christmas Tree".  This is something fun I like to do every year for Xmas.  I started it about 5 years ago when I saw an old picture of this very tree in the mid-80's and I thought.. well, I have the tree and lights, just need the other stuff.

So... here it is in short.   The tree was my family tree and purchased somewhere back in '84 or '85.  Many of the ornaments on it are my family's dating back to the 60's!  I remember putting some of them on the tree as a little kid.

The fun stuff... under the tree.  Some originals, some remakes.  But look around under there, you'll see The Red Rider (A Christmas Story),  a highly modified version of Schwinn's Mike's Bike (Stranger Things), Rock'em Sock'em Robots, Sears Super Video Arcade, A "Red Rocket" Flexible Flyer, NY Jets 80's style Helmet, and a bunch of other fun stuff we remember from being kids.  Missing is Simon... it's there now, but was not in the pics.

Anyhow.. a little taste of Christmas in the 80's for the house.  I just thought what better way to display all this retro stuff than putting it under a Retro X-Mass Treee?  LOL!

Wish list for the tree...

a few Matchbox cars and a playset

Marx Navarrone Hill or Battleground playsets

A few more MB Games like "Which Witch" or "Emergency!"

An original "Game of Life"

Some old Revell or Monogram Plastic Airplane model kits (I know Hobby Lobby still sells them).

Merry Christmas to all!

Wow!  That's so cool!!

Aside from Intellivision (of course) I love the banana seat bike, Rock Em Sock Em & old school wooden metal sled (how did we all not break our necks and lose limbs with those things!!).

Brings back a lot of great memories of the late 70's / early 80's for sure!

Looking foward to next Christmas when folks will be posting pics of Amico's under the tree!!!!!!

And TOTALLY doable on Amico with our screens on every controller.

Imagine a 4 or 6 player version!?!?

Wouldn't That Be Something?

:D

We have some "Mastermind" type elements in Bomb Squad!

Hmmm, the plot thickens! When I think about Virgin Games the first game that comes to mind is Robocop Vs Terminator, though that might be a bit too violent for the Amico I guess...

With you mentioning the Amico's styling being inspired Ferrari and Lamborghini cars it makes me wonder about a Ferrari or Lamborghini licensed game, or maybe even Ferrari V Lamborghini!

Also, I came across this little gem on Youtube earlier, it'd definitely be cool to see a sequel to this, maybe call it Lomax the Lemming since Lemmings has more brand recognition than Lomax. It has really nice graphics, I must say.

Longplay of The Adventures of Lomax/Lomax - YouTube

We had a lot of great products... especially in the early/mid 90's.

I think I worked on over half of these from 1990 - 1997!  (I left in 1994, but was still contracted to work on games with them).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Interactive

Here's the ones I worked on from that list in either a composer, sound designer, audio director, producer, designer or game tester roll.

There's a remake of the movie Dune coming out sometime next year.  Wouldn't it be something if we got a Dune game on Amico?

Virgin Games did the first 2 (Dune & Dune II)... the second game was done by Westwood Studios in Las Vegas (who Virgin owned) right before they started Command & Conquer!

Jume.july possibly..... imma little sad but its understandable.    Hope 8f that dar out you can bump.up the launch games to closer to 50 sonc3 thats orob clise to what would ve acailable by that time antwats. Give or take a few over under.

@Tommy Tallarico.  Either way imcant wait .

Glad you guys arent doing a half assed launch like atari are. As it will be til prob late jan to feb til all backers get units... and they are consisered beta testers and

Also pat and ian dropped 2 videos and  poked jabs at Intellivision.  One was for the atari vcs coming out and that atleast  they arent blaming delays on covid .   Funny thing they did no research as apparently  the vcs main launch for pre orders is pushed back to june.... due to supply chain issues.    But outside of supply issues  the vcs launch even though just to backers feels like a disaster. They had problems with the store  from purchasing and while that was corrected  some people with security background are talking about the info on receipts which doesnt look good...oh and the os which is just a barebones linux unfinished. was hacked and run.on a pc.

I hope the VCs becomes something decent but  you.only get so many first impressions.

Im back working full time antwatts right now so if amico is pushed back ill have something to look forward  when work slows for the summer.

What games did you play?

Vegas Poker, Soccer, Hockey, Snafu, Armor Battle, Spiker & Golf.  First up next time will be skiing, bi-planes & sea battle.

My son hasn't been overly engaged with these games in the past,  but we genuinely had lots of fun together this time.

One comment he did male was “now that I’ve played your games, will you play mine?”  Given he plays all the first person shooters on PC, I took a pass.

Tommy,

Restoration Games is the publisher of Return to Dark Tower. They also have a few other games that I have\played that could work as Amico games. Stop Thief! which is basically electronic cops and robbers and Fireball Island which is a reimaging of an older board game of the same name.

Starpaddler,

This post from 5/7 talked about Stop Thief.

And have we had an respond from Tommy about a possibility for Amico ?

Or maybe we can't talk about it because someone already have ? 🤔

Or lastly, maybe you were happy that someone else thought of a game someone talked about earlier this year ?

Maybe it's my poor understanding of English, I am not sure what your message means ? 🤪

It's hard for us to talk about a game that you or someone else haven't mentioned this year! lol 😄

I don't think Tommy answered this yet.  I didn't suggest this game.  Lol.  It was Jeff who did.

a belated Merry Christmas and early Happy New Year to all -

We really went retro this Christmas.  Drove to the mountains in Tennessee and stayed at a cabin. Just the family, no interaction with the outside world for 3 days.  And NO INTERNET.

We did have a TV with a Direct TV so I was able to watch to some football yesterday and we saw a few DVD movies.

But, we went super old school and played a lot of pool and then board games:  did a puzzle, played Jenga, trivial pursuit and a board game we heard was good called Labyrinth.

I have decided that Labyrinth would make an AWESOME Amico game.

I mentioned Demolition Derby the other day... Thinking back to the old Smash-up Derby....there is definitely a multiplayer game in here.

Imagine 4 players with a top down view, like the new Battle Tanks game, old style bell rings...engines rev up and off you go.  Dirt arena, wheels spinning, parts all over the place...but you can pick them up to put back on the car.

Somewhat similar to Midway as arcade game Demolition Derby, but better graphics/sound, an array of old cars from the 50's to the late 80's.

Mix in the purchase upgrade shop like Iron Man Stewart's Off-Road...and you have a whole lot of fun and bashing up cars all day.

Mod the car, bigger motor, fix the missing parts with what you picked up, paint it, style it...whatever.

The disc can be used like a steering wheel with buttons as gas and brake.  Gear shift on the screen.

Fun music, and crowds cheering.

Something to think about...a full on Demolition Derby in your living room...

Still have this awesome game and if it wasnt my faulty "electronic crime scanner" device, I'd be playing it with my family.

I would totally see this game being redesigned for Amico!

I hope the controllers have easter eggs that get activated if you enter certain numbers. For example, you enter the phone number of Intellivision Entertainment and something interesting appears on screen. The same if you enter the digits of pi (3.14159...) or e (2.71828...), which would be educational for kids. Perhaps US zipcodes? Historical dates? Just a thought I had out of the blue, but I'm guessing someone at IE already thought of it.
