No love for QT??? I know he’s controversial but Pulp Fiction has to be on a few people’s top ten list here on AtariAge 🤣 It’s hilarious!

The Amico is family friendly sir.  Godfather may not be family friendly but it is about a family so it’s a pass

Got a new replacement screen in for one of my old Microvisions.  Had fun replacing it this morning.  Works like new!

Thanks to AtariAge for giving an outlet for things like this.  I found both the screen and a replacement DYI video from folks here.  Love this place!!

I think you are missing an obvious one on that list: Willy Wonka!  Oh, and may Spider Man too!

Correct!  Forgot Wonka.  Spider-man movies are cool... but don't make the top 10 cut.

:)

Personally... I was never too big on any of his movies.  Not that big on shock factor violence in movies.  Tombstone & The Godfather is about my limit... and aside from the Sonny death scene... QT is on a whole other level.  :)

Probably the reason I dispise slasher films as well.

This list is crazy lacking in Cameron and Spielberg movies.  I still love ya Tommy but this did make me question our relationship a tad

Spielberg is Raiders... so he's there a bit.

If you need a famous boxer for a particular game...how about Mike Tyson?

As much as I love Mike's career, I'm not sure he would go over well with the family crowd.  He's made a helluva PR comeback though in the public eye.  Gotta give him credit.

The one man play thing was obviously going to happen.

Even when was in the ring, he was working on his Shakespearean chops...   Friends, Romans, Evander, lend me your ear.  Or at least part of it!

Not a fan of QT movies either. I’m not a fan of his style for some reason.

What about Butterbean? I remember playing a game called toughman contest for the saga genesis which was interesting.

Tommy,

I found this article interesting, and it has pretty significant implications for the Amico.

The triumph of mobile core games heralds a demographic shift | Opinion | GamesIndustry.biz

Maybe you've already seen it. It's interesting that two thirds of revenue from mobile games is now in the core gamer space with games like PUBG Mobile, a game that's both relatively violent and all about online multiplayer. Of course one third of mobile revenue is still a massive amount to go after and then there's the console and PC space on top of that, which is comparable in size, according to the article.

I would say that the Amico could at least do with a non-violent take on PUBG, maybe something like Fortnite, but of course I already know your thoughts on online multiplayer!

But the article did get me thinking about non-violent offline mobile games that could be a good for for the Amico, stuff like Minecraft and Terraria are massive games that I haven't seen mentioned in relation to the Amico (perhaps I missed it).

Games that involve stuff like crafting are massive these days and I don't think the Amico has anything like that at the moment?

Then you have stuff like Angry Birds and Candy Crush, which could also be a good fit. Amico having an online friends list where you can ask friends for help in something like Candy Crush could be cool, and I don't think something like that has been mentioned?

You also have the opportunity of publishing games on mobile devices, like Nintendo has been doing, to give mobile gamers a taste of what your home console has to offer.

And have you thought about publishing games on other consoles, as Microsoft has done with Cup Head (and the Ori games on Switch)? Could be an extra revenue stream for games that were only going to have Amico exclusive features and not actually be exclusive to the Amico, as well as raising the profile of the Amico. Microsoft also seems to be focused on cloud gaming using a relatively cheap dongle as well as Games Pass, and presumably combining the two, which represents another interesting avenue.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the fact that the article mentions that the PC and console space might want to target older gamers also seems relevant for this forum of course!

Tommy,

Have you thought about a hard plastic cover that fits over the controller tray, it would be good to keep the dust off the controllers, plus when your using the controllers it fills the void and takes away that empty look. 👍😀

I’ve had this idea floating around my head for a few weeks that I think would be tons of fun for a Christmas themed game.  With Tommy’s history with Video Games Live and the lights on the console I think I really neat idea would be to work with Trans Siberian Orchestra and create a video game based around one of their Christmas Concert Stories using the songs from that concert and the lights to enhance the game.  By the way TSO live is an amazing experience saw two of their shows The Christmas Attic I know was one I think the other was The Lost Christmas Eve both were amazing presentations

The one QT film I actually like is True Romance. I don't know if people consider it a true QT film, as Tony Scott took that mess of a screenplay and turned it into something worth watching. It does have a bit of the shock factor violence, but probably one of Tarrantino's better films.

Kill Bill Vol. 2 had almost no graphic violence, Kill Bill Vol. 1 on the other hand...

The only Tarantino film I like is Jackie Brown, which seems to be the one most Tarantino fans hate... maybe because it's just cool and understated throughout.

Hi Tommy. I was listening an interview that you did almost 3 years ago.

If possible, I would like to have an update about two things you talked about, just so I can know if they are still planned or if it was rejected.

1) An "Organic Hardware", named this way by David Perry and you. Is it still the way you created it ?

2) You hope that someday, everyone could make a game on Amico, even a 10 year old child. Is it still a goal ?

Thank you Tommy.

@Tommy Tallarico  Since this is a QA thread, I finally have a question that I don't believe has been answered, and is Amico related.

You've alluded to the possibility of games being played with two controllers. Is it safe to assume that those controllers could also be mobile phones? If I'm playing one of those games, could one of the controllers be the Amico controller and the other be my iPhone? Or could you use two phones?
