btw... did you know that Intellivision was working on a new game called Pizza Time back in 1984!

It never came out, but definitely something we gotta bring back!!!!

In the Amico podcast from 1/17, Rich mentions he got a golden ticket for pre-ordering the FE.  I pre-ordered the FE as well but never got a golden ticket.  Was I supposed to get one?  I have the receipt for the pre-order.  The only 2 times I got a golden ticket was when I bought a shirt & mug from the IE shop in late 2019.  After that Tommy said no more golden tickets were being sent out.

The founders edition will come with a "$50 RFID golden ticket gift card".

Those paper ones were for people who purchased the limited RFID T-shirts.  They had no money value attached. They were used for people to enter the Amico give-a-way competition.

The $50 Amico Game Shop cards for FE's will be sent with your FE Amico.

Right.  For some reason I thought Rich was referring to the paper ticket.  That confused me.  Lol.  I wasn't considering the $50 gift card as the golden ticket.  To me it's just a gift card that's gold.

Park Patrol from Activision would be good on Amico, as far as I’m aware it only came out on the C64, ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC. 👍😀

I'm guessing the physical media won't be shown until closer to launch.  If the Amico gets delayed and releases in June or July, then perhaps the physical media can be shown in May.  I was hoping for the April launch but it doesn't look like that will happen unfortunately.

Hi Tommy,

With Cali in lock-down...  Are you still able to move forward with FCC and other such approvals?

Getting the manufacturing done is a huge obstacle of course, but can you even begin without all the crazy permits you need?  Or with HDMI out, is that a non issue these days?

If other counties approve or deny, would you begin production anyway and make adjustments to the line after to sell in other locations?

As much as I personally want an Amico, I am pulling for you more!  I can't think of a better person to take over the Intellivision brand.

Crazy thought..  Could a receiver be made that plugged into an Intellivision II or Sear that would take input from the Amico Controllers?

Wouldn't that be somethingTM

September could be a possibility ! Damn Covid !

Oh man, this makes me nervous. Late summer is kind of a weird time to release a console. And what if all the excitement disappears by then?

Personally, my excitement will not wane. I can see some people looking at this as horrible news but this could possibly have more games bundled with the console or at the very least more games available on launch.

Tommy, my countdown tells me there are 70 days left to Christmas .... I still believe him?  Or will I have to reset it again?  In any case, you guys at Intellivision will always have my support.  Happy Sunday everyone!

A lot of places are backed up but we are progressing nicely.

In order to manufacture 100,000 units you need to spend around $20M.  Can't go into manufacturing unless everything is 100% tested and proper compliance's are met.

There is no room for error.  A company like Microsoft can deal with the financial fallouts of a "red ring of death" type scenario.  We can't.

:)

No.  We must launch in U.S. & Europe at the same time.  We can't manufacture two different types of machines for different territories.  Again, maybe bigger companies can do that... but we can't.  The console itself needs to be the same.  Packaging is easy to change... but not the hardware.

Thank you for your support!  Tough to do this in a normal situation... 100x's more difficult during COVID.

But that's okay... because it will make the success and victory even that much sweeter.

:)

We are up to the challenge and nothing will stand in our way from reaching our goal.

The biggest retailers in the world are liking mid to late July for us.

Lots of people involved and a lot of moving parts.

We should know for sure over the next few weeks and will make an announcement ASAP either way.

Don't worry.  The excitement hasn't even started yet.   :)

And I think by showing more and more of the products and what Amico can do.... the folks who are paying attention at this point... will grow even more excited.

The world of retail has changed dramatically over the past year.  And with no one traveling or going on vacations... summer is just as good a time as any these days.

There aren't many things to compete with during that timeframe either.  A HUGE plus for any new product.

Thanks for your support!

We couldn't really bundle more games with the product.  6 is based on business models, budgets and a lot of planning, market research and focus group testing.

We also wouldn't want to shoot all of our bullets at launch either.  It's important that we launch but then have a great flow of awesome content leading into Christmas.  So even though we'll have all 50 games in development completed... we would still hold a bunch back and release them every few weeks.

:)

Thank you for your support and understanding!

Looking likely that you'll need to reset.

If my decision is to put out an inferior product in April or a better one in July.  I'll take the later date.

We sincerely believe that quality and doing it right the first time will be very important for the launch and success of the product.

That's right.  The Sega Dreamcast came out 9/9/1999 in NA.  The Nintendo Gameboy Advance released 6/11/2001 in NA.  So, bringing out the Amico in July 2021 is good.  Like you said not many things to compete with.  Hurry up July, lol.  I want my Amico now.

If Intellivision Entertainment shares the controller API, anyone should be able to write a driver for it.
