I absolutely agree with you.  Quality must be top priority.  Thanks for the update.

Is there a way to RSS this forum?  Thanks.

I don't know if RSS support is still available after the upgrade, but in the upper-right corner, you should see a "Follow" button which you can use to change your follow preferences.  This will allow you to receive notifications when new content is posted.

The Amico has 35 games at launch according to Tommy.  Now add the 6 pack in games & you have 41 launch games.  That's a lot of games to have alongside a new console and it's wonderful.  It allows for many options & it's nice to have options.  Also, Tommy said 10 physical games will be at launch.  It'll be neat to see which ones will be there.

Looking likely that you'll need to reset.

If my decision is to put out an inferior product in April or a better one in July.  I'll take the later date.

We sincerely believe that quality and doing it right the first time will be very important for the launch and success of the product.

The nice part of mid/late Summer release is that it gives to time to do a semi soft launch, get the product into the chain, get any kinks ironed out ( there are always unforeseen kinks) and then you are really ready to hit it during the Holiday Season.

The wild card is always covid, but as long as there isnt any huge turds in the punchbowl (like a new variant that the vaccine doesnt handle)  the timing of a late summer works well too. Since if the majority of americans get their vaccine by summer, well then restaurants and bars and so forth are going to be swamped this summer due to SOOOO much pent up demand, and then when fall hits people will also resume game nights and house parties and visiting friends and family ( again so much pent up demand)  and for that latter part, the amico is the perfect product to capitalize on that demand. I think "game nights" may be a huge system seller. No other system with all their intimidating controllers and schemes are a fit with game night, hell even some board games with their complicated rules arent good for game night, but a console that allows a bunch of people play easy to learn and fun to play games... bingo.  So silver linings, Covid may just be lining the pins for you to knock down come the holidays 2021.

I can't wait to see which Atari game gets shown next in a video like how Breakout was shown.  I think Centipede was one that is coming to Amico as a re-imagined title.  It'll be cool to see how that one looks.

I'm excited to see the 35 launch games listed on their website soon.  I want to go through each and every one, to decide what I'm buying.  Most of them, I'm sure.

There's probably enough info out there to figure out all 35 now.

Maybe Tommy shouldn't tell us what the 6th pack in game will be.  It would be better to find out once the Amico has launched.  That way it's a surprise when people turn on the console for the first time and discover the mysterious 6th game.  Unless of course it shows a list of the pack in games somewhere on the box.  But either way is fine.

We couldn't really bundle more games with the product.  6 is based on business models, budgets and a lot of planning, market research and focus group testing.

We also wouldn't want to shoot all of our bullets at launch either.  It's important that we launch but then have a great flow of awesome content leading into Christmas.  So even though we'll have all 50 games in development completed... we would still hold a bunch back and release them every few weeks.

:)

Makes sense and thank you for the information.

It is so frustrating to go on reddit/elsewhere to discuss Amico and see people all, "delay means bad! I'm OUT", like it's such a burden for you to wait a little bit longer for a finished, tested product, during a pandemic no less, and from a company that, very understandably, and as Tommy has explained many times, cannot afford to botch their launch.

I will happily wait patiently for Amico, gives me more time to save up for games, not to mention look forward to a new console for the first time in probably a decade.

:)

If you notice those are always pretty much the same people who just in a comment or two earlier said it sucks, the games look lame & like Flash games (so they were never 'in') and if you read a bit farther they will confess the are basically butt-hurt over something Tommy said about their personally favorite console or something. Meanwhile Amico live chats just keep getting bigger, Reddit /r/Amico keeps on growing (more than doubled in size since last year), Intellivision YouTube subs keep climbing, and people who make videos about the Amico have their highest video views. I find it hilarious they are desperately hoping people will join in their staged 'walkout', they don't realize that people like what they see are are just patiently waiting for the console to ship. BTW they will be back posting next week about the next video even thought they are 'out' 🤣

The biggest retailers in the world are liking mid to late July for us.

Lots of people involved and a lot of moving parts.

We should know for sure over the next few weeks and will make an announcement ASAP either way.

Ah, good to know that the retailers are still on-board! That was my main concern.

Immature impulse because they can't have it now.  Don't worry most will buy it anyway and Amico is going to be huge.

Hey Tommy, here are a couple ideas for Amico games:

1) For multiplayer games, I just saw a 50 minute video with the best Naomi games (almost like a Dreamcast, but with 2x the RAM and games that were never ported to console) and discovered a few potential multiplayer gems: Ring Out 4x4 (Destruction Derby style, overhead camera, lots of fun), Dragon Treasure (a multiplayer action RPG where you just run forward pressing a single button and the left and right arrows in rhythm, you can also insert cards and the machine throws out some kind of medals) and Dinosaur King (a fighting game which basically consists in rock, paper, scissors!).

1) For classic, single player games (i. e. "the fox game" style) where multiplayer is added afterwards, maybe you can create your own Lode Runner style game. In Lode Runner, you can't jump but you can create holes left and right that, and where an enemy falls into one, you can pass over them (the destroyed bricks also reappear in about a minute). Apparently, variations of this work extremely well: I recently discovered a 1994 shareware game called Girl & Freedom, some kind of Lode Runner replacing holes with bullets (that can't kill the enemies but can destroy walls) and adding fire, (flowing) water, switches, optional chests, bricks that never reappear and platforms "Bruce Lee style". It only has 10 levels,  but it's worth taking a look to see how a simple game made by one person (some guy in Lithuania) can be so addictive.

Simple games is where it's at. Games are games, and the Amico is on a mission to remind that to the world.

To be clear, the 35 games at launch would include the 6 pack-in games.

35 is our launch goal.

I would predict either Tempest or more Asteroids.... maybe even Warlords.  Hard to determine at this point.

We're not even 100% certain which ones.  We have 50+ in development that are potential candidates.  Need to do more focus testing with various demographics in different countries before we finalize.

We will have a few surprises up our sleeve to happen on launch.  That I can promise you!

Whatever the launch games are, I’m buying them all and hoping for the “press one button” to buy all. Also hoping I can Pre-order 8 controllers , any physical media and ALL the accessories available on launch with my FE so I can get everything in one box. I want it all !! 🤪
