Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

As Henry Ford (is rumored to have) said, "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses."

Well those new fangled 'automobiles' will never go anywhere. First everyone who wants to move around has got a horse and they don't need another - most folks are happy just to stay at home anyways. Plus everyone knows how to take care of horses - it's easy, you just clean 'em, feed 'em, stable 'em, shoe 'em - everybody knows that. Sure women don't like hitching up a buggy but they are weak and meant to stay home and have babies anyway. If women do want to ride - we already got something easy for them - its called the side saddle. Some folks say horses are dangerous, especially for youngins - but all you got to do is harness them up with some kicking straps or better yet - just watch your damn kids around the livestock like ya suspose'd to. Plus I am the best damn rider this side of the county and if you can't learn to tame & saddle a horse you aren't really a true man. Finally if people wanted anything other than a horse we would already have it. Of course I haven't ever seen one of these automobiles but I know I am right and the horse will always be the way we get around - damn straight!

Can someone remind me for Amico on day of arrival, will many, some, all the older Intellivision titles be available to play out of the box?

I am new to Intellivision so being able to play older titles would be a hoot!

I believe Tommy has said classic Intellivision games won't be available until 2021 because they don't want to cause confusion about what they're trying to do with Amico.

So does Amico follow the car industry and devices shipped after August are the next year model?

So our Amico will be considered vintage 2021 Year Model.

😝 😅  😋

New Interview. Did not have time to look at it, but later tonight ! :)

EDIT :

Looks good so far after 8 minutes. It's only 1 hour, but seems very interesting.

Please, can someone help me ? Skiing, is it retro re-imagined or sports/recreational ! ? ?  🤔  lol

If a game can be in two categories, so maybe we can have 5 categories of game at 25% instead of 20% each ?! lol  😂🤣

Tommy, you know better than I do, but can it be a little risky to wait for prices to drop for machine parts ?

Because of the virus, could it be possible for prices to rise rather than fall ?

Thank you.

I personally will not stop talking and discussing the Amico.  I am not banking on 100% nostalgia for my fandom.  I am genuinely intrigue and excited for Amico as a console in 2020, not as some retro machine like so many naysayers spew.  The Amico is a modern console with unique and compelling features that I think it will fill a gaping void in the gaming ecosystem, that sentiment is lost on many many people.

I am not sure if this is just me but here is my gaming world right now. I have about 4 or 5 new games I bought on steam, havent played yet, a couple other new ones I bought on ps4 havent played yet, so what have I been playing?  My arcade game which has all the classics.  the reason I find is that the hardest part of gaming for me right now is deciding I am gonna play a gaming session and when your talking about PS4 or PC games, this session is more like a commitment. Its gonna be HOURS of playing and to be honest once I start Im ok with it but its SOO hard to commit and turn the damn things on.  Instead to be honest I find I am enjoying just popping over to the arcade cabinet and playing a handful of games, chase a few high scores and pop right off when I want.  Gaming without a commitment.  THIS IS AMICO's ace in the hole.

It's the same thing for me.

But there will be an exception this year, Final Fantasy VII Remake! 😃

I like that at around 24 minutes in Tommy shows off a Tandyvision One and declares it the best vintage Intellivsion console.

Growing up one of the neighbour kids had a Tandyvision, and I always loved the woodgrain look to it as well. I was ecstatic that just a few weeks ago I finally found one for a really reasonable price. I know it is just a different shell to make it a Radio Shack model but damn it looks nice! :D

The FE Amico and it are going to match wonderfully.

The Tandy is the prime of all the units.  It's all about the gold on the woodgrain with white lettering.  It's a must have for any serious collector.

2nd I'd have to say SSVA...as it's just a sensible design, with a cool late 70s look.  The tan/brown/gold and wood grain makes it stand out under a TV.

Least favorite has to be the Inty III.  Especially with the Inty II keypads.  Terrible

Honorable mention goes to the Sylvania/GTE... Hard to find lately.  But has a silver shade and just looks better than the Inty gold for some odd reason.

What if the FE and Limited Woodgrain Edition had a slightly different color scheme? Like the FE has that darker woodgrain detailing, like the Tandyvision, while the LWE has something more like the original Intellivision.

I'm ok with them looking the same because the FE has the signature on it.

this whole proud and loud idiocy that runs rampant today, i just dont get.  I dont know shit about classical music, so why would I go and start a video with me commenting on classical music, but yet this is what people do now. Is it just trolling? do they get their kicks by being seen as an idiot?   I sure miss the days when if you didnt know much about a subject, you just kept your mouth shut as to not look like an idiot. These two idiots in that video actually think they know more about the gaming industry than the gaming legends remaking the intellivision, and yes I dont say this lightly. Tommy has a crew of freakin gaming legends.

Hey Tommy I’ve been watching all the interviews you’ve been doing for the amico and was wondering, if you’re not too busy, if you would want to do an interview?

People online think that because they have a platform like Youtube they know how to run a business or develop a product.
