Hahahhaa!!!  Ah!  I thought you were talking about the WALL OF TEXT confusing menu screens... my bad.  :)

Yeah!!!  What you said!!  None of that multiple versions of the game for money crap either!!  I HATE that!!  I had NO IDEA which version of Red Dead II or Formula One 2019 I should buy.

Yet another common industry thing publishers are trying to do to suck money out of folks.

You won't see any of that crap on Amico.  Physical versions will be more money... but will still be the same game (but physical will be epic and collectable for other reasons).  :)

We need some Founders Edition physical media 😁

I am very much looking forward to the physical versions of the games as that's how I have played and collected for 40 years.

Very glad I will still have that option and am more than willing to pay extra for the privilege.

Very cool!!!👍

I don't know if this has been answered but are we talking carts here or something else akin to a disc? Perhaps a DS or Switch sd card kind of thing?

Caught up on recent pages and had a few things on some of the games talked about:

Harness Racing - sounds great. I have not seen a fun horse racing game in years, and never one with harnesses. OMG Horse Racing 2016 for PS4 may be the winner of worst game I played on the console.

Stardew Valley - I get the pixel art comments, but that game would be AMAZING on the Amico. Could be a killer app even. Think Animal Crossing meets light RPG.

Drifting games - There are some out there, but none that have been very good. The best Drift game mechanic for me was in the PS4's Driveclub, which had a pretty darn good drifting feel and mechanic.

Photo-taking instead of shooting - I remember one about 5-10 years ago where you were in Africa taking pictures instead of hunting. Worked great.

I was thinking along the lines of a pretty color box and manual myself!😀

This is news to me too. I was under the impression this was a digital downloading only console. And I was OK with that. Given the low prices.

Physical media is talked about on their website FAQ.  What it is exactly is still to be announced "closer to launch".

I would rather those games still be built upon a modern engine, rather than plagiarizing some emulator the devs found in Retroarch. Otherwise, I see what you mean,

Check out Rikki & Vikki on Steam. It is a 7800 game but IIRC he built an emulator for it and that's how it works on Windows. Or if you have a 7800 you can still buy the cart. I like the limitations too.

RFID Trading card type deal? Bring back the game binders but well for cards. Hence the Golden Ticket type things? Just a guess.

Back to driving games on the Amico ... anything like Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast on PS2 and original Xbox will be a winner.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to take a second look at PS2/original Xbox/Wii games that hold their value in the used market.

Outrun 2006 is one of these. Earlier, someone had mentioned Family Feud for Wii. That's another one. Easy, cheap research. These used games hold their value because they're good (not all do, obviously).

Yeah that guy is a full on troll account with videos that get 90 views.

I expect that is exactly why he is doing this?

Hoping to make a name for himself and get 'youtube discovered' for his relentless bashing of Tommy and the Amico. I would have never believed it if I did not see it for myself, but sometimes you can become a professional asshat (like Logan Paul) and rake in the fans and money just for being a complete idiot online.

Thankfully, this does not seem to happen successfully very often. Like wining the lottery, chances are it will never happen to the majority all wanting it to happen.

Pardon me?  I didn't question the product, I like PCB porn, ask Kevin.  He sent me some unpopulated proto motherboards. ;)

Just let it go, I will just buy one and open it up.  I missed any shots of it, I don't really have the time to go through all the youtube stuff.  It's all good.

Why they would target the Amico is beyond me. It's hard enough as is trying to release new hardware in the current market... Let alone fighting everyone calling it the Chameleon 2.0 and dealing with Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft fanboys. If everyone would just take a few steps back and try to aid in a new platform's success rather than trying to tear it down just because... Well, who knows...

Let it go guys, I really was just curious about the design.  I've known Tommy forever and I know he will succeed, he is a very hard worker.  And if any of the "they don't know what they are talking about", was directed at me, LOL.  I've been programming games for 35 years.  Tommy did work for at least one of my games, namely Pac-Man World.

Discuss the games, they are the most important part, not the hardware.

Oh, that wasn't directed at you. I understand wanting to see internals. I'm sure Tommy will show the finished prototype internals to us sooner rather than later.

I was more talking about that guy who keeps making stupid Youtube video names designed to mess with Youtube's search algorithms.

Why does he need to show us anything? let alone the internals of a prototype that is by the name "prototype" is an item that is not finished.

For me, I like to keep my life simple.

It is a blackbox that will output video games for my personal entertainment.

That is all I really need to know.

If I like the games, then the system behind it is nearly moot

why buy a system based on the hardware if the games suck?

He doesn't have to show us anything - what I meant was, he DOES choose to show us as much as he can, just because he wants to do it. So I'm sure he will given time.

I totally agree though. Hardware is nothing. Games are where it's at. Bernie Stolar said it best "if you don't have the software, the hardware will fail." ... One of the few things he said that was good, anyway , lol.

Funny how you bring that one up. I do own the cart for Rikki & Vikki! Great game!

My concerns were that coding the game for older hardware AND having to write an emulator for the Amico would probably add a lot of extra work...work that not everyone is willing to do fairly.

I know Shovel Knight intentionally eschews some of the NES' limits, despite having an artstyle based on that system, but I think of that as another good example of a modern pixel game. Something with care put into it, unlike certain other indie games that remind me of Programmer Art Syndrome.

Check out Micro Mages on Steam too. It's a NES game. 4 player co-op too.

The Amico is suppose to have the jzintv emulator in it so shouldn't require them to build one.
