We do know the game will be a physical game and not a download card. AFAIK, RFID cards can only store 2K to 4K. I'm guessing it is more like an SD card, since I believe all there will be are USB and SD card slots.

But why not both and/or all of the above!?!?

Speaking of negative haters.  Here's yet another "gem" that was just sent to me just now.  It's from the mentally unstable folks who are now spending at least an hour a day creating epic content like this (I cued it up to the best parts... but it's all great!).  They've had at least 3 or 4 videos removed over the past few weeks so thanks to the folks who continue reporting the video.  At this point, the entire channel should be reported as well (I just wasted 10 seconds of my life doing it).   :)

I'm told they refer to the forums here so the next time you come across negative folks here... THIS is the type of intelligence level you're dealing with.  :)

They are literally so unintelligent that they are not self-aware enough to know how dumb they are.

But hey... who am I to judge... everyone needs a hobby!  :D

Videos like this just show how successful Amico will be.  When we're inside peoples heads this much... you know there are big things on the horizon!

I am starting to wonder if this is a posting account for James C because none of his opinions or arguments have any basis in facts and he just repeats the same weird theories every time he comments about the system. Like the one where he says Tommy somehow faked the sell out of the preorder founders edition.  It just reminds me so much of those James C comments

RFID cards are unstable. I bought into the DropMix music-mixing game system by Harmonix which was pretty cool, and used RFID cards, but lots of people had some cards randomly fail. Like one day they worked, next day they didn't.

I am curious which kind you are talking about.  Do you have a link, that isn't a clickbait blog link?  I've played around with this hardware recently and reading and writing sectors to 2 different kinds (chain dot and credit card sized), worked just fine.  Does what you are talking about, have something to do with distance?  They do suck at that, for sure.  Cheers. :)

That's correct. RFID is very limited storage wise. It's usually good for... Well an ID number. Nintendo's only real use for their Amiibo has been to unlock content already available on the game, just gated off until the ID code is scanned.

That's not to say you couldn't pump cash into it and make larger RFID storage or figure out a way to speed up transfers, etc. but I don't foresee that happening. It would be cool to just tap a card to a system a for a few moments and have a a full multi-gigabyte game. But not within the scope of what RFID was designed for.

You wouldn't need a bunch of storage just enough to tell your console you bout it and it registers on the system and it downloads it. Like with Amiibos in Mario Maker. You touch it once and that is unlocked don't have to use again.

Maybe if its cards it could be the front is boxart and the backside is the manual.

I don't believe any of that was directed at you.  It was the nerdy cupcake Smurf trying to once again upset the apple cart as he's done in other threads.

:)

And for that he can go "Smurf" himself! 😀😁😃😄😆😂🤣

A download can't be described as physical media so like it's already been suggested doing both a download and also having storage you plug-in seems like a possibility.  Unless someone can figure out how to transfer 100MB wirelessly without power.

I don’t know how big these games are but I am guessing around 1-2 GB like most of the Wii disk games. I am guessing if there is a physical copy and a download card, you cannot copy your physical disk to the consoles flash memory and then to an SD or USB storage device. So, would that mean games can go from download to SD/usb storage, but not SD/usb to console flash, then console flash to sd/ usb? I assume the expected 16GB console flash memory will fill up rather quickly if the games are indeed 1-2GB each.

Yeah , that's why it wouldn't be considered physical media. You could definitely use RFID cards for digital downloads though.

Tommy has said there will be physical media for around 30% of the games, so your format would not be true for them. Could be for the other 70% or they might have both for the 30%. I think this started off with collectible physical media versions, so that’s why I keep yappin about it. 😜

16 GB internal storage will hold 25 to 50 games . So games won't be too big... n fmv video

If people are referring to download cards as physical media that is going to get really confusing.

OK here is my TJ's Conspiracy Theory of the Week

One of the engineers working on the Amico worked on both nuclear subs & the NASA Rover program. I know aerospace pioneered the use of large storage sized RFIDs in order to track quality checks & tests on highly complex things (like rocket engines). Frustrated by the limited storage size (I think 64K is the max) he hacked together his own RFID tag by marrying a commodity RFID reader & an SD Card. This has morphed into the Amico physical storage.

Or, even more likely:

I agree.  All of our testing has been super stable as well.

The hardest part at retail is pirate protection.  Which is why a lot of times the reader cards are officially "turned on" at the point of purchase / cash registers.

So much I could say right now... but can't.

Sorry guys.

I think James C is on to something. However I am just amazed Tommy had the forethought to create all of those fake YouTube accounts (years ago obviously and even post videos on some of them) so he could create all of those glowing comments about the system & pre-ordering. Man for a scam artist this guy is GOOD! 😉

If I had to guess I would say perhaps USB stick collectibles in the shape of game characters.  You can get USB sticks in the shape of anything these days.  So the collectible will actually hold the game itself.

Yeah, I could see this. Vendors give away box-fulls of these at conventions, so they are minimal cost, especially if they only need to be 500 MB.

You can buy bulk flash drives for like $1.89 a drive, if that, even with just a simple search. With manufacturing agreements for certain numbers and incentives it's probably really low from places in China. So one of those with packaging and special physical release stuff at particular retailers is definitely doable.

I do hope it's not just literally like... A plastic EWJ with a flash drive sticking out of his legs you stick into the back of the console. But if it is, that's okay too. Physical is all that matters to me.

Edit: something like this would be super great

If that's all the physical stuff we are able to purchase,I will be highly disappointed! 😄

Yo,

That comment wasn't directed at you what-so-ever.  I was referring to Shawn the trouble-maker who said everyone was drowning in my Kool-Aid.

That just makes me want to bust out kool-aid man cart....  OOOH YEAAAA!

Just to remind I mentioned trading cards almost 90 pages ago:

For the record I was envisioning thick cards such as HuCards, but it could be something bigger, like a game box like Beefy suggested.

How about language in games and system menu? Is everything in english? My dad would love to play games with his grandchildren but he dont understand english at all. We live in scandinavia. Maybe games and menus are simple enough but still.. any thoughts Tommy?
