How about some positive and happy news for the world right now!

Intellivision is happy to announce that next Tuesday, March 17th we will be releasing a brand new 3 minute gameplay trailer highlighting 22 games!

Almost half of which have never before been seen or talked about. Oh look! Here's one now!  1f642.png

Hmm...   It's a game that will played well with the disc I think ... 😁

EDIT Curious to see if the ambulance will intervene from time to time! lol 🙄

I'm trying to figure out how that is going to work in multiplayer with the screen?

No split screens means zoomed out more and more fixed perhaps?

Hi Tommy. Did the Interview with ReviewtechUSA got well ?  🙂

Yes!  Got into a lot of new stuff never before discussed!

It wasn't live.  He's posting it sometime next week.  I'll make sure to post the link here.

Yes.  Correct.  Always able to see "Human Player" cars on the screen.  If there are 4 human players the screen will pan all the way out (if others are lagging) to ensure all 4 human player cars are shown.  When there are only 2 human players and 2 A.I. players... then the camera will stay in on the two human controlled cars.  It's super cool.

We control our online store.  Only through the store will you be able to get games on your system.  They wouldn't be able to do physical either as the machine needs to be connected to our servers in order for the physical to work properly.  :)

One time activation or always needs internet?

I was wondering the same thing. One of my reasons for wanting to buy digital and collect all of the physical Amico games is so in years to come possibly after the servers go down, I can still play the games if anything should  happen to my system and I lose the digital games.

That looks cool ! I remember playing super sprint in The arcade with friend and will never forget spinning that  small steering wheel to the right and to the left like a crazy person. I can’t quite picture controlling this type of game with the Amico controller, but I’m confident it will work well !!

Looks great!

btw.. looking at this picture made me think... how about a Slot Car game.

No idea if I have ever seen a Slot Car video game before.

I mean who here did not have slot cars as a kid.

So similar idea as above but there are slots each car is on and you play against other players.  You can switch slots too...

Nice feature is you can lay down boobie traps on your slots so other cars may run into them affecting them somehow.. maybe slower speeds... blown out tires, etc....

Little Demolition in the mix so you can screw up other players cars so you can be the winner in the end.

There is a slot car game on the 3DS. It's fun enough, but since it's tied to Streetpass, you need to use that to actually have opponents to race against.

ah cool.  yeh don't own one of those...

idea still could be sound and fun with the right boobie traps and stuff.

and with proper speed around corners one can learn to jump tracks and such.  Add some fun old school dynamics to the game.

Of course going too fast can also mean you fly off the track and damage your car.

Then use the Amico Controllers to reach a virtual hand to grab the car and try to get it back onto the track so you can get back in the race.

Just like we did as kids. ;-)

Add some voice commands you can say into the controller to do certain tricks.

Not familiar with that game.  I'll need to check it out.

Its a lot like Star Wars Arcade, except you have a Galactic Map you can turn on and find where enemies bases are in the galaxy and hyperspace there. You can also control your speed and you have to dock with space stations to refuel and get repairs. Wilmunder's Star Raiders 2, which was finished around 1984, but not released due to the crash adds multiple ships on screen at the same time and the ability to visit planets and skim over the surface looking for star bases to destroy. In one video, not included here, the reviewer states it was a game that people bought Atari computers just to play this game over buying an Apple computer and gives it an A+. The computer version used the keyboard for speed, switching fore/aft views, going to the map and hyperspace. The 5200 version used the 5200 controller keypad and overlay.

Good. I generally don't like this sort of thing, but if you're using it to prevent unlicensed games instead of some crazy DRM thing, I guess I can't hate it since it makes sense in this context.

Don't worry, we won't be seeing any more malarkey from "Guy" in this thread.

Was it that bad? I think he was misguided and full of malarkey himself, but maybe I'm not up on all the rules here.  Maybe he was too harsh in his rebuttal?  Personally, I agree that the industry is driving itself into the ground and not even realizing it.  They're doing the classic mistake of just making the same thing over and over but doing it faster and better looking. That will keep the traditionalists happy, but doesn't move the needle forward.

I'm really excited to see how this all plays out.

Considering @Guy has been permanently banned and jaybird3rd wrote his name between quotation marks, and also taking into account that @Guy is a "new user" that, coincidentally, only posts in this particular thread, with a suspicious first message that said "remember when Tommy said that we should chill the f**k out?", I would assume @Guy was somebody's second account.

Who's that somebody, you'll ask? Well, somebody banned from this topic, somebody who has shown in the past that he's unable to leave this topic, somebody obsessed with Tommy Tallarico, somebody obsessed with defending mobile gaming from our "attacks" and somebody with a great experience launching personal attacks thinking that the mods will not care because he's a subscriber. I seem to remember somebody like that with an avatar based on a Dreamcast dancing game, but I'm not really sure.

Not that I really care all that much, but I wanted to give my two cents before a real new user reads this and, as it happened before, thinks the mods are removing messages and banning users for no reason.

Back to the Amico: Tommy, that racing game looks totally Mashed/Drive to Survive. I'm looking forward to see the rest! 👍

Lol! As it happens I lost the auction for this unit to Lathe and given what he’s done with it I’m happy that I did. 👍🏻

Assuming that's the new Auto Racing.  Looking to see how the controls are done.  The Amico disc does spin so they could do it like Atari Sprint, which had a spinner rotary control.  Intellivision Auto Racing steered by pressing the 16 point disc at certain locations to control the amount of steering.  Atari Sprint also had a a four gear shifter, and analog throttle control.  Will Amico auto racing have a mode with manual gear shifting, how will the touchpad be used.

Yep, it's Auto Racing; check out the name of the image in the URL!

I was wondering the same thing about the steering controls, as well. The Amico disc is also pressure sensitive, so I wonder if that will be used in some way. I don't exactly enjoy pressure sensitive button/d-pad controls thanks to MGS2 and 3, but I imagine they can probably be done well. I don't know of any other PS2 or PS3 games that actually use the pressure sensitive buttons aside from Top Gun Combat Zones and the Metal Gear HD collection, though, so my experience with pressure sensitive buttons is limited.

Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 on the Gamecube as well as the Gamecube version of Top Gun Combat Zones used the pressure sensitive shoulder buttons, but those shoulder buttons have a huge amount of travel, and the Gamecube L and R have way more analogness (not sure what else to call it) than the PS2/PS3 d-pad and face buttons.

Tommy, I just noticed that the resolution of this picture is 2560 × 1432! Is that the game's actual resolution?
