ok... yeh I am on Satellite Internet... I can pickup a vegan burger faster driving in your Ferrari from Cali to Boston and back to Cali than it would be to download a 80MB picture of Amico pron.  haha.

And I kid you not!!!

I don't lie... ever!

haha

but yeh... yesterdays download and upload speeds with my Satellite internet from Hughes were all in K... Not Mbps but K.

247K Download

87K upload

with a 2000ms Ping time.

I kid you not!

and you pay 10x more for that as well, it's even worse now that everyone is home in isolation... it's like 1994 again.. I feel your pain....

I checked my Dreamcast copy, but all it has is their website info, which the new guy (speedy-a) already provided here. The manual has no address either.

@Tommy Tallarico  imagine this nut te imagined visually to take advantage of the amicos power.  Why 16 levels why not 60.or 100.  Toss in a extra mode or so of play, achievements and online rankings.  Multiplayer 4 players . Maybe a special vs type mode that could be 4 or 8 players.   I played this on dreamcast it is really good.  The dreamcast has a great side scrolling and vertical  shooter scenes on its homebrew scene. Its ashame many of them only played by a limited audience that followed the homebrew scene.

But for this game I never played the remastered in HD wide screen port .

They. Could have great potential on amico

Btw look at those visuals and certain people butch and moan saying  all games will look like "mobile games" when this was made on 20 plus year old hardware and still.lools fantastic....but imagine it looking even better.... "wouldn't that be something "

Update..

Here's a review comparing the dreamcast version to the  switch version of the game.

Very cool!  I never even thought of it like that!

Gonna do this tomorrow morning with my hot chocolate!

It's the little things!  Great news about the VIP numbers, the ball is rolling.  I watched that whole video from RetroAdvisory, impressive analysis of the game industry and why the Amico is going to fill an obvious void missed by the 'big guys'.   Well presented also.

RE:  Warlords, I forgot about that!  Cool game.  I first thought 'Wizard of Wor', probably because I pumped waaaayy too many quarters into that one at the arcade on Main Street.  My poor plastic Spider Man piggy bank was violated with a butter knife repeatedly, trying to get the last few quarters out.  I'd peer down through the slot, looking to see if there were any left, then I'd flip it upside down, stick the knife in, and work it around until coins dropped out.  As you can imagine, this was a process of diminishing returns all summer, and I believe I resorted to collecting cans and bottles (Maine had returnables even then, and a liter glass bottle was a 'twenty center' when a candy bar cost .30!) to get enough quarters together to play some more once Spider Man had given up the goods.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

The guys were probably wondering why the 15oz ones didn't seem to be selling very well... 😉

Yeah... we're still about a month away from knowing the true impact and costs.  Not only in China... but HERE in the U.S. as well!  Going to be a big recovery period still to come.  Hoping this is all over by the end of the month.

🤞

Did you have a date when production was set to actually start in China, and what have they told you about the date?  No need to give an actual date, just curious if they are letting you know if you're still in track or not, or if it's still wait and see.

Yeah... different items ship from different parts of the U.S. as they are all "made to order".

An not just the U.S.  My color changing mug took awhile to arrive, but it was shipped from IE offices in Latvia. The hat made it here almost immediately.  And then the Golden Ticket arrived about a week later.  What I really liked was that the envelope with the ticket in it was hand addressed. I got a kick out of the return address that read "INTELLIVISION!!! :) "

Tommy, whoever is addressing those envelopes deserves a pat on the back.  Great job.

Did you tag Intellivision and Amico (separately) in your video?  For some reason it still isn't coming up on my YouTube search??

One of the factors I always find super interesting is the DISLIKE ratio compared to the total number of VIEWS.

So... a good question would be.  Out of those 1.6 million views... how many folks DISLIKED all the positive views?   For the negative videos... you could add in the LIKES of those (i.e. people who agree it sucks).

Would be interesting to see what the percentage is.  Especially considering that a lot of the people who are paying attention (all hardcores.... positive or negative) are not even our target audience!  So if our dislike ratio is super low for the hardcores... imagine how incredible it's going to be with normal type family folks!  Mom & kid influencers typically have a MUCH different type of super positive audience.  Hardcore Elitist gamers are known (and made fun of) as being negative and complaining types.  That's how a lot of them are viewed by the "outside" world.  Remember to add ELITIST and not just "hardcores".  I consider almost anyone who reads this to be hardcore in some way.  Even if you're not a hardcore gamer (i.e. play video games everyday)... but a hardcore in the sense that you are interested enough to visit here and discuss video games.  Probably not something the typical "average" person on the street would be willing to do on a daily basis.

Thoughts?

Excuse me I am softcore....err... wait that came out wrong!  I'll be leaving now

I would say I'm a Hardcore John Alvarado fan.

I'm more of a Casual Tommy Tallarico fan.

As for the Amico, I guess you could call me Hardcore since I did preorder and will buy each and every game which comes out for the system.

Is that considered "hardcore" or just smart gaming choices?

🤔

It is just a running joke - when people figured our that Tommy will say "wouldn't that be something" when a project is already in the works, or at least being considered already. It IS kind of an unofficial Tommy trademark I guess

WAY back in the day there used to be a software magazine called "SoftSide" that published games & programs for you to type into your computers. I always wondered if the postman wonder what sort of magazine was in that "SoftSide" sleeve

Tommy, with the reported commitments for the retail orders, when do you feel you are likely to pull the trigger on duplicate tooling for a second line (or 3rd)?  Guessing it probably all depends on factory capacity/component availability and other factors I may not being considering, but any current idea on timing for that decision?

Hope all are staying safe.

Didn't watch that-don't need to, the title splash is enough.  This same person will find a reason to complain about limited supply this fall, when the only Amico consoles available will be in the hands of those who pre-ordered and he can't get one.

Tommy any way the games can be played just on the controller itself.  Like if you wanted to play astrosmash in bed but the wife wants to watch tv. So no tv

At first i also thought it was the typical ”hater” video, but its not, both of the guys talking in the video says they really like many of the games and even the graphic style of the games, and would have bought it if the price was lower, but here is what i think is the real problem, they are looking at the Amico from a pure single player experience, and from that perspective, I would probably agree with most of their arguments. I can’t understand how these Youtubers making videos about Amico without having seen a single other video on the subject, don’t they watch other Youtubers videos at all??

Why get an Xbox Series X when you can buy a really great dedicated gaming PC with so much more capabilities and access to an 8,000 game library on Steam?

Why get a Nintendo Switch when you can get a decent tablet and sync it to a wireless controller via Bluetooth?

Or Pat and Ian on their latest podcast, on the sudden high demand of the Wii.. "you mean there's a system bringing family and friends together again??"  "so you can play couch co-op?  There's a system that exists???"  "These things are everywhere, you trip over them"...

Seemingly unaware that half of their critique is defeated in acknowledging *there is great appeal in a similar concept*, or that by championing the Wii, they're casting their entire retail pitch on.. a system that hasn't seen a retail shelf in 7-8 years.  Yes folks, you really have a demand for something, our advice, go to Gerald's stoop sale and buy that used Wii!  Some crusty gunk on the silicon gel Wiimote covers?  Don't mind that, just wash your hands an extra two minutes and don't ever, ever put your hands or those Wiimotes near your face, yeesh.

I won't be putting much stock into complaints that the cost is too high.  It's a little higher than the no-brainer cost they were aiming for - and since October 2018 that price has been caveated that it may shift a bit.  But a difference of $40 or $80 isn't going to sink or swim this system for the typical shopper.  We're all familiar with the cost of family entertainment and more centerpiece consumer electronics.  Some would have this priced competitively with a pocket calculator.  A few would balk at THAT price.  The same people wouldn't bat an eyelash at buying a $900 billiards table or a $100 board for bean bags/corn hole.  A $400 Framemeister - let me get two, that's what I need - a premiere upscaler.  New games and different gameplay or an 8% increase in resolution and fidelity?  They're more excited for the latter.  But an entirely new system with different conceptual games pushing toward a less-focused market in the low $200s?  Noooooooo, it'll never sell, you guys are crazy.

While these guys have a better take and appear interested, I really think the price complaints don't match well with the buying patterns of the general public, and what the "gamer" audience within that general public are willing to spend on trivial expenditures, yet complain about the $200 range of a new system.

End of the month... you know more about the manufacturing situation than I do, so this makes me happy. Of course, we'll see. There is nothing we can do except wait.

It's all up in the air at this point.  We hear different things from different folks.  But we do talk to our folks over there at least 2 or 3 times a week.  Luckily the area we're in wasn't hit bad but there are still a lot of precautions.... which totally makes sense.

Any chance of some jackbox games at launch ? You mentioned that they might be sold separately as opposed to in packs as they are now which makes sense given the pricing of games for the Amico.
