Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Recommended Posts

I would just like to say that it is nice to talk about what the Amico could be.  But, conversely, it is important to note what the Amico will not be either along the way.  As Dirty Harry once said, "Man has got to know his limitations." and the Amico definitely has some.  Not trying to hate or anything, just pointing out a fact as every console has limitations to some degree or another.

I didn't think Phoenix belongs to Taito; they did license it for the Japanese market.  I played the arcade game a lot back in the early 1980s.  Amico will have Demon Attack which is somewhat similar to Phoenix.

Demon Attack is a game that took inspiration from Phönix

Eagle Empire was the best clone game of phönix I think:

Was going to post something but decided too much hater talk lately, so this is the edit.

I need to make at least one comment , these guys from the spoiled bacon and swine follower to a sheep in wolves clothing are acting like a bunch of kids that were probably bullied in their childhood, and now that they can hide behind a keyboard have become bullies themselves.  It's sad for sure, would love to see these people in person and front of everyone spewing their lies and hate. One thing for sure how they cried to the mods here when the were confronted with rebuttals  or truths.  Could you imagine in person.. Oh they would run home yelling for their mommies...    I just can't believe the inmaturaty of these individuals ..

I'm in my 50s & started with Intellivision & Atari that my best friend in high school had, but my favorite era is still the 16 bit systems of the  early 90s. I also remember the arcades and loved the 2-4 player games from the late 80s & 90s as well.

Pizza Parlors (both chain and independent) were wonderful places. Then Domino's started delivering, making Pizza Hut do the same, then Little Caesars, etc. Shakey's is now a shallow shell of what it used to be, with a fraction of restaurants they used to have & only in California. Same with Godfather's (who used to be everywhere) & all those independents across the country that nobody goes to anymore. All the game rooms are gone and we now have pizza store fronts with nothing but counters and a Pepsi fridge by the register. It's like getting your pizza at a laundry service.

Yea locations are few and far between to “discover” new games nowadays. Loved wandering in a pizza joint or arcade back in the 80’s and 90’s and finding a cool new game to play. In college I used to have a brew while I played pinball at my local laundry mat. Miss this era!

I tend to agree.  We've had lots of discussion of the "critics" here today, and I think we all understand their motivations pretty well, but I'd prefer not to see us dwell on them and what they're doing and more than we have to.  The more we talk about them, and the more we call them out by name—particularly the people who have been blocked from these threads and can't respond directly—the more we play into their hands, escalate the issue, and stoke the fires further.  As I've said before, I think the best way to answer them is to remain focused on the positive.

But it's not about the limitations a console has. It's about would you do with what you have that counts and IE and Tommy are excelling at that in my opinion..

Understood.  I'll say this much about them, particularly the ones who have had to be blocked from participating in these threads: by carrying on in the petulant and childish way that they are, all they're doing is confirming why it was necessary to block them in the first place.  The fact that some of them have also had to be kicked out of other venues, and for similar reasons, would also seem to confirm that they are the ones with the problem, not any of us.

"Hmmm, I think I have some room for the Amico right over there"

It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone

Yep.  It's the true definition of fascism that folks like my grandparents and relatives fought so hard against back in Italy.

We see it everyday online with politics and social themes.

How dare I give a counterpoint to their misinformation.   HOW DARE I!  I MUST BE SILENCED!!!

I always like to reference how badly triggered Ian got when discussing us and the fact that Rich was wearing a sweatshirt with our logo on it.

:)

You are sooooo correct on this. Ive been playing with a moron thats butt sore over video attack patty and Igor and its just this Fascism.

Dirty Harry also said "Never put ketchup on a hot dog!", and if Tommy does, I will start hating immediately! Even if it is a vegiwiener/tofurter/frankensoy or whatever. 🧐

Ok that's something I'd love to see.  A last starfighter game.   As a kid and adult I have always wanted an actual game.

So tommy with that....if we getting arcade games that were never real to be reality... can we  have the tremors game from tremors 2??
