I’d fight you for it, but being two slow blind guys, it may not go well.

A video of that would not be rated e10+. Your wives will curse you back in the house, because they don't want to nurse any thrown out backs for a week.

I would pay good money to see that battle!

I would pay even more good money to see that fight as long as the fight is barefoot and there is 50 lego pieces in the ring strewn about...

That would be so awesome!

It would likely invoke a lot of missed swings and panting quickly followed by the mutual decision to get a beer together and forget the whole thing

It's a year an a half since this was announced. Is there a real product? Do we need offices worldwide like in Dubai to have high-paid people whose sole purpose is to "introduce" people to gaming on Amico?

I mean like in the simple (and fun days) we watched TV. And a month later the games showed up in the store. Simple. And we learned how to play them. We bought what we liked, and ignored the crap. And the best consoles were profitable and just worked.

Wow, has it been that long?

Great! Would not be into Amico as much as I am if the console/controller design, OS, E-storefront, SW, developer stratagem, fabrication,  go-to-market, marketing (which by the way hasn't started yet, meaning we are all privy to ground floor stuff), -1 year/Launch/ +1 year/+2year/ contingency and pivot plans, etc.. were bring rushed to market.

I can guarantee there has been little, if any, slack time at IE getting things to this point, and when you are working a project like this, a year and a half go by in a blink (personal experience); as compared to us where a week until post of an advertised new vid seems like an eternity.

oh but we can dream about it!

@OEB_Pete gets one and has his video game playing wife and 2 kids banging on the Amico... accidentally spilling poutine all over the controllers and Amico, the accidentally baking it in a nice pie that Pete decided to bake for Sunday supper!

@GrumpyOl'Guy can yell at the Amico until it gets off his lawn... that should scare the Amico shitless.

@Starpaddler can run over it with his car as he forgot to move it out of the way before parking his car in the garage.

@GrudgeQ can do the same as @Starpaddler as his reflex was too slow to stop from starting parking the car 15 minutes earlier.

It can all work great!

I love that you called it supper, because lunch is Dinner and Dinner is Supper in my world.

So I've been wanting to ask about Fig not because of the hate squad but just to get a better grip on what is going on.

So if we put aside the part about preorders and just take the investment portion can you explain how this will effect your production? If the target is or isnt met what does that do for you guys?

Zero effect at all.  We have many many outlets of raising money.  They are 1 of about 20.  If there is zero investment it doesn't matter.  If there are millions... all it does is make it easier/quicker for us.

:)

I really appreciate you putting this on a micro investment site like Fig. Not everybody is in the $100,000+ range for typical private investor funding rounds. It gives an opportunity for fans, supporters and just people looking for a good investment to hop onboard in a more modest way.

I'm not sure I understand your question.  Please feel free to expand a bit.

We've had "real" hardware for over a year.  We have about 40 game developers around the world working on 50 games in development right now.  We've consistently showed real gameplay playing on real machines as well as our controllers working with the games (and showing off the uniqueness of what we're doing and how the games play).

Please sign up to our mailing list and you'll get all the info as it becomes available:
https://www.intellivisionamico.com/

I would also recommend subscribing to our YouTube Channel:
https://www.youtube.com/c/Intellivision

If you're a year and a half behind... that would be a GREAT way to catch up and to see all the progress.

Having offices in places like Europe & Dubai proves how important and worldwide the company is.  This isn't some lame-o Kickstarter or Indiegogo project.  You wrongly assumed that we have "high paid people whose sole purpose is to introduce people to gaming on Amico."  What about important things like distribution, sales, marketing, public relations, local partnerships, advertising, language localization, local retailers, local developers, local licenses, local investors, etc., etc., etc.   And why do you assume they are "highly paid"?  You don't know how much we pay any of our folks.  And what is "highly paid" mean to you?

What you are referring to in your second sentence is called "advertising".  We haven't started that yet.  We are taking a very fun approach to creating the entire console and sharing the process along the way.

That makes sense doesn't it?

Any other questions?

But it's not about the limitations a console has. It's about would you do with what you have that counts and IE and Tommy are excelling at that in my opinion..

Very, very true.  However, just as risks will always be risks, limitations will always be limitations.  However, limitations can be overcome and or done so every day and Tommy, IE, and the Amico are all working to do that.  Still, it remains to be seen if they can ultimately pull it off, but it sure looks like they (should) have everything to do so and I wish them all well.  No doubt about it.

Here’s one for you Tommy, being a car guy.

Heard this from the owner of an small aerospace company where my Grandfather used to work.  He knew the owner well and years after my Grandfather retired, he set up a small tour for us.  The business had pivoted and was now fabricating parts for Formula1 cars. The space was cleaner than a hospital and I never before thought that I could be okay with eating something directly off the floor.  Anyway, the owner told me that Military typically carries something around a 50% margin of safety for parts, meaning if a part was designed to carry 100 lbs, they would test it and either add or remove material until it breaks at 150 lbs., then he went on to tell me that for F1, they use a 2% margin, meaning the same part is iterated until it breaks at 102 lbs.  Heard this ~30 years ago and it has stuck with me ever since.

Wow.  Crazy.  Assuming it's because "weight" is everything is F1 and there are very strict restrictions.

Mmm.. Just wondering when this will be available through familiar retailers like BestBuy or Amazon?

We haven't released the names of all our retail partners just yet, but it is all the biggest and best ones.

Within a few weeks some of those retail partners will be taking pre-orders for special editions as well.

Dirty Harry also said "Never put ketchup on a hot dog!", and if Tommy does, I will start hating immediately! Even if it is a vegiwiener/tofurter/frankensoy or whatever. 🧐

True, he did say that.  But, while ketchup wouldn't be my first choice to put on a hot dog (or even my second or third for that matter), I would have to respectfully disagree.  I might say you shouldn't put ketchup on a hot dog, but I can certainly see the appeal to do so and don't fault anyone who does.

That was exactly why we did it.  Gives a wider variety and range of folks (who believe in the vision) to get involved and share in the potential success if they are interested.

btw... the accredited investor number is actually $250K!  :)

For the record... I prefer both ketchup and mustard on my veggie dogs.  And as much as I like pickles... I HATE relish.  Bleech!

You didn't ask about Europe but Intellivision did just announce two major retailers in Europe - MediaMarkt & Saturn. They are basically the Best Buy(s) of Europe.
