OMG!!  So awesome!!   I gotta do one of these at some point!

Exclusively sold at C-MART... right from his back room (as he would be the person who would buy every single one of them before anyone else had a chance).

:D

@cmart604

Lol! This seems accurate.

Tommy, congratulations for adding Andy Gavin, one of the founders of Naughty Dog and one of the co-creators of Crash Bandicoot, to your management team. Combining the existing talent with his unique vision, the Amico is unstoppable now.

The person is in the COMPANY OFFICERS section.

This is a game in itself !!  It’s very fun to search for the answer. You really should charge us all 2.99. It’s super entertaining !! 😜😜😜

And it's better than a long discussion on the "haters."

I agree. I wish we could drop that type of discussion altogether. Its really annoying at this point. The “haters” that have nothing better to do just need to be ignored. I don’t come here for negativity. I come to share my passion with all of the cool people on this board and it always brightens my day 😀

Tommy has mentioned several times that even games like Minecraft can be a risk to children. To some people that sounds ridiculous but it mostly stems from the online part, not the game play. That is why I am glad that Intellivision is taking possible online services with a slow, careful & minimalist approach. If you get it wrong it can present a hidden danger that most parents wouldn't immediately think of and watch out for. Anyway here are some articles which talk about this and I am starting off with a powerful quote from the first one:

"Minecraft has caused more serious problems for the families in my practice than any other video game" Dr. Timothy Davis, Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School.

Basically the article says Minecraft chat can be a place of online bullying, bring out addictive behavior in some and that people running servers can entice kids into buying in game objects. What he doesn't bring up as much is online predators, which is covered in these articles (they also mention Fortnite as another common, pretty safe feeling game that parents don't watch out for enough):

And I didn't know you worked on Deus Ex!  LOVED the first game!!!!!!

We did a whole story on it on Electric Playground.  Did I meet you when we were at the studios?  I believe in Texas about 20 years ago??  Ion correct?

Romero & Tom Hall are good buddies of mine from the 90's.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Deus Ex!  I was one of the three programmers on that project, and later also worked on the PS2 version.  The main Ion Storm Austin was in Dallas, and our office was (thankfully) in Austin, away from all the drama!  If you never came down to the Austin office, we probably never met.  I had a whole wall of Ultima maps and posters in my office, so that would have been marginally memorable.  John and Tom are great guys!

 ..Al

Ohh man now we're talking! I sold, lost, traded my original Deus Ex for PC many years ago. I've enjoyed the sequels so much. My favorite stealth game by far!

How about an Amigo version guys? 😁

well earlier I did mention I love Gamestars games, and Scott Orr is in the list... ( he also was the man behind Madden).... so could it be ............SCOTT ORR?

I'm saying it's one of the Oliver Twins.  They're the right age and obviously grew up playing video games with a brother.  I'm guessing that they pretty much played every console as kids, so it could fit.  They also have a Guinness World record and I'm sure they worked with Tommy at some point...

Though a true mic-drop announcement would be Sam Houser.  He's the right age, has a brother, isn't married, but only just retired. (oops, got him confused with his brother. Apparently he's not retired)  And if he was announced, the haters would definitely eat some crow.

Because the industry was crashing and everyone was trying to get rid of inventory.

i think i remember Keith saying something like they thought Locomotion was going to be a big hit so they made lots of carts but then Activision beat them to the jump with Happy Trails so they just ended up releasing Locomotion at a highly discounted price..Tommy do you have a storeroom full of Locomotion carts at the office? lol

I agree 100% with your comment and the direction the Amico is going.    There is no need for an online element if there is a family first attitude. It would be fun to do a PTP connection, so you can play with specific friends, but forget being out there on a server with the world.

Let's face it, that form of game playing has been around for 20 years, and I'm sure many, if not all of us have had experiences with it.  It can be a lot of fun, and can also be a dark place as well.  Leave a kid to lock himself into a room and play online by themselves can be dangerous.

Play the game as a parent, or a family can be a lot of fun.

Me & Scott would hang out frequently back in the early Madden football days.  Great guy and great producer!

Haven't spoken to him in years though.

I know Sam.  Smart dude!  Not sure if the GTA guy would be a right fit for Amico though.  :)

Not Sam or Dan.
