It would have been cool if they had made a new pitfall like one of those 3rd person adventure games on mobile.  In fact there is alot of nice games that have come to mobile and having a dedicated console would be perfect for them. Even like the uncharted game on the vita. But  pitfall. Then made other reimagined games. River raid, Hero these alot they could have done. But I feel they had no enough money to do any game development.  Sad really.

Those are all Activision properties.  Atari has remakes of not only Missile Command but also Yars Revenge, Star Raiders, Night Driver, Asteroids, Pong, Haunted House, Tempest, and other remakes and originals.  By the way Amico also has most of Atari's best golden age titles.

A remake of 'Pitfall: The Lost Expedition' would likely go over very well I am thinking. From what I recall from the PS2 version at least, it was decent but certainly not spectacular.

It certainly would benefit from an re-imagining/remake I am thinking.

Ouch on Yars Revenge and Star Raiders.  I don't want to say they suck.. How about: they do "inhale vigorously"!

Most businesses and business ventures FAIL by a large margin, the playbook VCS venture is playing by is that failure isnt a failure if you arent using your own money and keep getting a salary up until the day you fold.  So much about business today is about scams, cons, and money extraction. Its all become main stream. Using your own money, making a profit out of the gate, all that stuff taught to use way back in the day is basically for suckers today.  Hell there are billionaires who never made a profit in their business.  they simply create a product, give it away, build a huge "client" base, create half ass revenue models, go public, and cash in on stock as they let others try to figure out how to actually make money with their product. There have been tech stocks trading 160x earnings,  that is so beyond insane its laughable if it wasnt so tragic as it details just how off the rails we are.

The business world is as fucked as the real ecological world, both are going to come crashing down at some point because they just cant sustain the BS forever.

Gaming and every other industry as well. For the last decade what little growth there has been is all in debt and funny money wall street finances. None of it is 'real'. Not to get too wonky, but you can only play this game as long as there is one more sucker willing to buy your debt,  debt has to have two willing participants, that day is going to end. It almost did in 2008, nothing has been fixed since then so the liquidity crisis and currency crisis is coming. The market will implode, and all this funny money vc capital will dry up. Any company that isnt truly profitable, stable and well run will be in deep trouble. Gaming will be no different.  IE/amico with its actual low BE is old school thinking (which i love) and very wise imho and will be fine. My software company is built the same way, we actually make money, imagine that.

Those are some pretty exciting ideas. I wonder if @Tommy Tallarico will comment at all and give any hints on being warmer or colder...

See the source image

I think they will capitalize on the pictures of family and friends playing together and how cool the system will look. Of course we'll probably see screenshots of games packed in and future releases.  Just some thoughts...

Ah, the old "fool your younger brother into thinking he is controlling the single-player game" trick.  It's tough when you only own two NES carts and both are Super Mario Bros.  But cool that your NES works with the power off.

@BigDumer This post is the funniest thing I've read in a long time!  And even though I'm half asleep (and should really go to bed) and I had to think and process it...And it's from 3 days ago, and I'm 3 pages back...You win the Internet as far as I'm concerned.

It's gonna be hard to sleep when I keep laughing myself back into waking consciousness...

It would be converted to local currency.  Everything in all the stores in various countries will be in their own currencies.

AT Games did a flashback machine about 5 or 6 years ago.  No reason to do another one... especially when we will be able to release original stuff on Amico with digital overlays.  :)

That being said... we are doing something really fun and cool with 1up Arcade.  :)

I thought so. I think I might have asked before, so forgive me if I have, although I didn't see it in the search results, so I'll ask anyway: obviously since there won't be a Japanese launch yet, I'll probably have to set the thing up with a US address, I'm guessing, which means that I'm also guessing that I'll probably have to use a US card to buy stuff on the console's online store.

I'm hoping that it will be like Steam and any valid card is good. That would be awesome since I want to give you guys my money after the thing launches. I'm not sure how this whole thing works, but I suppose there's not much I can do about it. Gotta make that Japan launch happen!

On AtGames: yeah, I have seen those things on the internet, and after witnessing the auditory atrocity that is Sonic on the AtGames Sega Genesis... yeah, I want nothing to do with AtGames

Their newer ones are better, but this will always be the AtGames that I remember.

For 1up Arcade, I'll check it out, but I unfortunately don't have any space in my tiny late 50s/early 60s Japanese apartment for an arcade cabinet.

The Arcade 1up unit should be pretty small, like a plugnplay, not a stand up machine.

It's the little green tv in the upper right picture.

What Arcade1up is doing with the Intellivision is more of a collectable than a playable video game.

The Atgames Intellivision Flashback emulation is decent.  Except that one game didn't work properly and sounds were slightly off.  The best thing about them is the near replica Intellivision controllers.  It's an acceptable way to play Intellivision and the controllers can be used with other systems and emulators.

They are virtual pinball.  Which I know many were disappointed.  But I setup my switch with a Jurassic park virtual pinball on a monitor set sideways and tilted.  And did a video.  It was really convincing.  My friends were surprised how much it felt like a real pinball.  So I was going to make one with lighting and have a switch dock setup in the back and wire it all to a dismantled controller so all the controls are built into the pinball.  Alot of work needless to say.  Then arcade 1up announced these and I was like well I'm going to just buy that lol
