Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

This is fantastic! Now the hard part will be deciding which of my teams I'll play as. It was easy to choose back in the day: Red or blue?

I'm looking forward to taking the Brew Crew out onto the field.  Guess I'll be playing as blue again.

I know I'll be taking my Pittsburgh Pirates on the field....

for roughly the same price as the actual roster!

In all seriousness, the whole press release was welcome news. It's all things that we were 99% on, but the actual confirmation just puts a nice bow on it.

Congrats to Tommy and IE group on securing these licenses. I know you’ve been hard at it for a while to get these.

What up. I won a hat! I am stoked on the Amico and can't wait to play it with my daughter (soon to be 5).

I loved my og Intellivision as a kid. My uncle worked for Mattel Electronics, and I got to tour the facilities with my brother. I can still remember him bragging that the Intellivision lasted longer under freezing conditions than Atari.

I am not a gamer, and this system has caught my interest.  I have a Founders Edition on order.

I really respect Tommy Tallarico for putting himself and the company on the open like he has.  I have been lurking for awhile.

These are just the start. I think we can expect more. NHL. NFL. Whatever the league is for Curling? Another ACL?  Thanks Tommy!

You sound like me, minus the cool uncle that worked for Mattel!

I have to admit the one title I can’t wait to see that we haven’t yet is MLB baseball.  Can’t wait, it’s such an iconic game on the original console

A international cricket game would also be a winner on amico. Not so much for the american market, but would be an absolute winner in the aussie/uk/mena markets (especially india and pakistan if it sells there. Cricket is like a religion there with top players revered as gods).

excellent press release. This has answered my earlier questions.

Speedball ii brutal deluxe on the amiga is also a brilliant game, which has been remade, as speedball ii evolution, with tilt controls! Looks like its all ready to be ported. The bitmap brothers have been around the traps for a while

Rick dangerous could also make a revival! Core’s first game, (followed by rick 2) it would pave the way for the tomb raider series (tomb raider was originally rick 3) he would be at home here with intellivision

I live in the U.S., but I love Cricket. A T20 game or even T10 would be a big draw in some countries as the Amico grows. (An IPL license, in particular, would be amazing. Let Virat Kohli be a part of that press release.)

Big Ant (https://www.bigant.com) does Cricket, AFL (another great sport) and Rugby games. Perhaps they’d like to make Amico versions. In reviews I’ve seen, their games sometimes come up a bit short. I wonder if working with the Amico crew could change that.

If tommy can release a top notch cricket game with 8 players, hell have a system seller in certain regions of the world, with huge populations!

AFL and NRL would do very well also.

I believe all sports games will be excellent on amico, and it seems official sports groups are involved in its development, which i think will make the games truly great and totally playable for many years to come.

Make a cricket game on Amico and I may finally put in the hours to understand how this is played!

I've been binge watching TT interviews/talks over the last few weeks and everything i've seen and heard gives me the warm and fuzzies.  Tommy is so passionate about this project, has such a history of success that you can't help but be swept up in the excitement.  I can't wait to introduce my kids to the Intellivision, as I was introduced to gaming all those years ago. I have no doubt that the variety of games and styles will be enough to draw them away from their Xbox and start playing together as a family on the new Amico.  Crossing my fingers for some good news about a launch date despite all the issues in the world right now.   The community is behind you and your team Tommy!

Thanks Zee!!  Love that you've become a part of the community and can't wait to share more info over the coming weeks!

BTW Tommy: I just saw a new YT video from our "friend" that somehow tries so sling dirt at you.

Just wanted to let you know that I thought it was very funny and in line with the type of silly humor I do myself - so he kinda let people know what a down-to-earth guy you are.

Hahaha!  Yeah, imagine being that one pathetic dude from the UK that sits around his computer all day thinking about me.  All upset because he was banned here a few different times and now blames me & @jaybird3rd for his own immature bad behavior.  Imagine spending hours and days and weeks of your life to make misinformed memes and videos so that a handful of people will see.  Imagine waking up EVERY morning of EVERY day and obsessing over a person you've never met and a video game machine you've never played?  The term "loser" doesn't really cover it.  Single guys with zero prospects in life projecting their jealousy and negativity onto the world.  I do 1,000 different tasks a day.  Bringing up the fact of how pathetic they are (in under a minute)... they think I obsess over them.  I spend 1 minute responding to folks here on the subject, while they spend hours every day making videos, posting meme's, commenting on every Youtube video, etc.  Because they don't do 1,000 things a day... they think their way of life is like mine.  The funniest part is that each time I bring them up and they hear the truth, it makes them spend more and more time obsessing over me.  Pretty funny that they get played and triggered so easily.  But then again... what do you expect from people like that.  Not much I suppose.  :)

Trigger set.

:D

my company like yours was rolling out our biggest product this year and this virus has slowed it down and pushed back delivery dates and adoption dates etc since state and local govt have been affected in various ways and while it is has sucked on many levels, on one level we have found it hasnt.  Quality assurance.

With the extra time and with the pressure off to early deliver to some of our largest clients, our team has really had the chance to kick the tires and go over the software in ways that we wouldnt have had the chance to do without this "soft release"   We have found a few things we all kinda looked at each other and said " jesus that could of been an ugly had that gotten out without us finding it"  We have had three such events this year and while we are really careful there is always gremlins that are good at hiding, and with this being vital govt software there isnt much room for error.  So as much as this virus has cost us, it may actually be saving us in the long run via allowing us to really quality check the hell out of the product.  I suspect this may be the same for Amico in the long run.  Sucks now for sure, but there is an opportunity here to really kick the tires and check under the hood and make sure the mass release is silky smooth and without incident.

TOTALLY!!!  100%!!!

The reality is that if the launch date is missed... it actually ends up being a good thing for the consumer as we can continue adding more features, games, licenses, etc.!

I'll be sad because of the date... but happy that we have even more time that we originally planned!

I didn't know the American Cornhole League was a thing 😁

Cool to see official licenses on board, hoping for more to come like NHL, NFL etc.

Hmm...ATP and WTA for tennis...wouldn't that be something?

Yeah... they are pretty huge actually!  Tens of millions of viewers on ESPN & ESPN 2!

We actually had most of them earlier in the year (as far back as February with MLB) but because of COVID canceling the first half of the season we had to wait til baseball was right about to start up again to get the full sports hype going.
