Hard to say real precisely, but I am guessing 35-45%.

80% sports and rec, 30% of edutainment, 30% of board games, etc. (dice), 30% new IP, 30% of re-imaginings

200%!?

Lol nah I get its really 40%. 😁

So I tried the Amico Club App. I was hoping for a leap day surprise in a Moon Patrol level. It's still the short demo.

Wasn't the extended demo due this month or did I miss something?

I think many things like the demos, giveaways, etc that was discussed haven’t materialized yet. I know the golden ticket I got with my original IntelliShirt purchase was supposed to be live a few months ago but have been pushed back. Guess same thing is happening to demos as well.

Maybe it will be up and running sooner than later?

I know it took longer than they thought for the app release. 🤷‍♂️

I think motion has place especially for games like bowling. I loved Animaniacs Ten Pin Alley which doesn't use motion, but I think Wii Bowling is slightly more fun due to the controls.

Every game? No, but some will be appropriate and more fun.

Correct, it's good for bowling, golf (Everybody's Golf VR AKA Hot Shots Golf) is excellent by the way, tennis, and maybe baseball. So basically Wii Sports. :) Has any motion sports collection been as good as Wii Sports? Aside from perhaps Wii Sports Club (Wii U).

And yeah, Ten Pin Alley was a blaston the PS1. It hasn't aged well though, but for it's time was very good. My favorite bowling game is still League Bowling on the Neo•Geo (currently available for the Switch, PS4, etc..). It was one of the first games I bought for the Neo at launch and I still play it often. Give it a try if you enjoy arcade style bowling.

I may have to try this one out.

Wii was really fun with Sports, recreation, minigames, and games like Boom Blocks. I had mixed feelings with racing games. Excitebots I loved with motion. Mario Kart not so much. Kind of had mixed feelings with Moon Patrol and using the tilt. It is really hard to tell though with how short it is though. 😕

The motion control in the moon patrol demo might have only been added because there is no disc control.  The amico game might not have it at all.

28 seconds long. It's hard to really judge it by that, but it seems good. I still prefer the original Irem arcade version or excellent Vectrex version though. It's a game much better played with physical buttons too. You can play it using an Android emulator, such as Bluestacks.

I don't see why they would have it in the demo when the controller (or phone as a controller) will be able to do the same thing.

Unless there is something different it is only a left/right game so the disc isn't a huge thing.

I would classify as neat. To short to say either way, but interesting enough to want to see a longer demo.

Isn't that exactly what demos are supposed to do, but with the full game instead of a longer demo? Sounds perfect!

It was good at being interesting enough to want to see more. That's why I'm a little disappointed it didn't come out last month like it was suppose to.

I was disappointed that it was only a half minute long demo. It should have at least been one full level. It made me want to play Moon Patrol (which I suppose is what they want), so I played the best version...on the Vectrex! ;)

But seriously if anyone here owns a Vectrex or plans on buying one you owe it to yourself to grabbing Kristof Tuts' Vector Patrol. I've been playing the Vectrex since 1983, and can honestly say that this is by far the best looking, sounding, and playing game on it. It totally captures everything in the arcade original, and adds so much more (including a chiptune of The Police's "Walking on the Moon"... get it? Haha

Even the packaging is top notch. The color overlay even looks 100% authentic to those from the 80's.

Obviously vector monitors look 100x better in person, but this is still very impressive.

I do REALLY want a Vectrex. It's one of those systems that you absolutely need the real thing to get the experience, although that can be said of all emulation and flash carts. No way that I can afford one right now, though, especially after the Nt Mini and also considering I'm also looking at getting an X68000.

Maybe the full demo will be released soon. Has anyone asked Tommy about it?

Tommy mentioned over in the other thread that the development of one of the pack-in games isn't going as well as they hoped and that they are also considering making changes to the pack-in games. So far we have Skiing and 2 unofficially announced pack-ins, but the others are still unknown. I'm guessing that one of the unknowns is probably one of the ones that isn't going as well as they had planned.

On this subject, has Tommy made any comments on how difficult or easy it is to develop for the Amico, by the way? It won't be another PS3 or Saturn, of course. I hope.

He has said SNAFOO and Astrosmash or Frog Bog. It seemed earlier it was an either or as to if Astrosmash or Frog Bog.

He has said that 4 of the games we will know and the 5th one completely new. So that kind of alludes to 4 of them being remakes in some fashion and the 5th one something like Cornhole.

Moon Patrol can't be one of the pack-in games anyway, since the licence is not owned by Intellivision.

He said Skiing and, unofficially Astrosmash and Snafoo.  A fourth was also to be based on an old Mattel title, one of Biplanes, Shark Shark, Armor Battle.  The fifth, a motion control game.  Other than Skiing the other pack-ins are now up in the air.  Maybe Astrosmash is being reconsidered.

Yeah, I know Moon Patrol won't/can't be a pack-in. We've been talking about pack-ins and how important they are over in the other thread, and now my PC Engine probably hates me for making it play Keith Courage in Alpha Zones for the first time. Thankfully, it's also going to be the last and only time. I'm hoping that all of the Amico pack-ins are awesome, unlike Keith Courage, which can go to hell.

What makes it unofficial? He said SNAFOO was included and was an AA exclusive announcement. 🤷‍♂️

The last I saw Astrosmash and Frog Bog were either or possibilities. So if that is true we've gone from 3 confirmations down to one. 😥

This is concerning.  Are they going to be able to provide quality games as the pack ins?

Quality is subjective and they have their own quality standard.

---------------

Everything the CEO says could be considered official, I suppose.  Skiing was the only pack-in named in a press release, perhaps making it more official.  And they certainly have the right to make changes to anything they announce.  In the Q&A thread, it was said that one of Astrosmash or Frog Bog would be a pack-in but not both.  Seperately announcing Astrosmash had eliminated Frog Bog as a pack-in.  Anyway they have dozens of games in development, some of which might still be early in development.  Lots if time to determine which are the best ones for packins.

Hi. I'm new to forums (I just joined the other Amico one yesterday).

I was wondering about the 5 pack in games too.  I wonder if Tommy originally wanted to base them off the 5 categories of types of games (retro-reimaged, sports, edutainment, casual and new IP)?

Thoughts?

That's what I thought also.  But when he started naming and hinting the five pack-ins, they became two sports/recreation and three retro titles.  Now we'll have to wait and see.
