Independent Amico Discussion Thread

Not a typo.  Could me more than 5.  :)

If certain components continue to get scarce and drive prices up a little on the console... then including MORE pack-in games would be a good way to bring that value back.

Remember I started the sentence with the word "IF".

Keep in mind... everything I say in here is conversational and always unconfirmed until I confirm it officially through our social media outlets, website, etc.

You guys are getting a "real" time thought process and inner happenings as it unfolds.  And although some people insist on holding everything I say in here against me because I said something a month ago and then something changes... I will still continue to do so because I think it's fun and interesting for the majority of folks here and it causes more interest and discussion among the folks currently paying attention... and... I like to interact with mostly like-minded people who share a passion for Intellivision and/or retro gaming and a place I can bounce certain ideas off of to get a feel of what the "retro" crowd react to (not that it's our biggest target market... but still interesting to get feedback).

Well, this is tasty. I think. I mean, hopefully prices don't go up for the consumers or the components, but either way, I'll still be interested to see what you guys do and I look forward to it either way.

Well it is going to be 5 right now. Guessing there will be no more official pack in announcements until E3. So, that leaves us with Skiing.

Guessing SNAFOO wasn't going as planned. Wonder if Astrosmash's future is up in the air too?

Wonder if Shark! Shark! Is being considered for being included with the system. It might be one of the best options for a party game system seller.

So the are running into a snafu with snafoo.

Interesting...

Lol

What's your reasoning for Snafoo?  It was said one of the five isn't going as planned meaning the other four are okay.  It could be one of the two pack-ins that hadn't been named.  It could be the motion control game.

A game like this seems like a perfect fit for Amico, it even looks to have the artstyle Tommy likes.

It looks a little like Omega Race; if the developer had access to modern technology and a fair bit of LSD :D

Hahaha, honestly as a huge fan of Omega Race, I could absolutely get behind playing a game like this on the Amico.

Tommy also said Snafoo might be the one he didn't like how it was going. So that's the reasoning for the guess.

Saying "maybe Snafoo" is not saying anything new.  It can still be any of the five.  They might not want us to know which one isn't going as planned.

Lol. I used the phrase snafu about an incident that happened today and my girlfriend's mom said "Did you know there was a game called Snafu?"  I just about died laughing that she knew that game.

Thinking about some old favorites in my household when growing up. My older bros and I played Tecmo World Wrestling a ton. It is not the best wrestling game and while not iconic like Pro Wrestling, I think it is the better game. I would love to see a simple wrestler like this.

I also wondered if there would be wrestling games on it. Not one of my favorite genres, but its got a lot of fans and a lot of families watch professional wrestling together. I had a nephew I remember had just about every wrestling game there was for hos xbox.

Been thinking of a lot of games my bros and I had fun playing. Very few have 2 players simultaneous play. Double Dragons, Battletoads, TMNT Manhattan on NES are a few that do.

New game announcement. This game has great sizzle sound effects. Music to my ears.

Multiplayer arcade games became a way to generate more revenue after the crash.  Otherwise the machines couldn't sustain themselves.

Wasn't thinking about just arcade but beyond that too. There was a lot of pass n play at my house.

Tommy stated in the other thread that within the next two weeks we will see a new video with several games displayed.

What are people's thoughts on which games they would like to see?

What are your guesses on which games he will show (whether you like that game or not)?

What games should he NOT show but keep as a big reveal for E3?

Hope this gets everyone thinking and excited at the possibilities.

😁

I want to see a 'casual' game. I think we have seen a lot of remakes. So something new would be nice.

I liked the Breakout footage, but it isn't like I haven't seen Breakout before. So something in the recreational or new IP would be nice.

We will see: Astrosmash, Night Stalker, Skiing, Breakout, Missile Command, The "Running Man" game, Carnival, BiPlanes, Slot Racers, Asteroids, Moon Patrol, "Animal fighting game", Auto Racing, Tron/Snafoo/Snake, Poker, Armor Attack, Shark! Shark!.

Hope to see: Cornhole, Bowling, Horseshoes, Baseball, Cloudy Mountain, Board game beyond the basics (not Hasbro), New IPs like Momtroidvania.

Won't see: Ecco, EWJ, Burgertime,

Should Hold backs: None, if the hardcores aren't the audience you get them excited early and catch the ones you can. If you have more of Ecco than the previous one then I think show it. If E3 happens and that game is ready then people playing it is the big reveal, not the footage. I would say that would work more for a Nintendo etc. I think if they have awesome footage show it before and showcase playing the system at E3.

I'm looking for some Biplanes, especially since what we saw the first time was not gameplay footage.  Biplanes could be one of the five pack-in games; it could also be the one not going as expected.  I'm looking to see how close they get the flight physics to the original game.

I need to play the original a little more.

I totally agree with all you said. That game and the 'Animal Fighting' one were the two games on that video I couldn't get right in my head as to how they would actually play.  They seemed more concept then gameplay but maybe we just need to see more.

I liked the controls of combats planes better, but they aren't the same game. I'm in the same boat.
