No apology necessary.  I was just saying that date in wikipedia can't be accurate, they would have to release the founders editions before october 9.

I know that Wikipedia is sometimes wrong about things.  They're not the most reliable.

Thanks for posting that link.  I was looking at the dates and noticed something interesting.  There are currently 6 titles listed for release on 10/9/21.  Five of them are the known pack-in games.  The sixth one is Back Talk Party.  You don't suppose that is the mystery pack in title do you?  I doubt it.  But who knows?

You're welcome.  I thought it was interesting as well.  They show all 6 pack in games.  Back Talk Party might not be the final name, more like a working title.  I feel like it's the 6th game though but will have a different name in the end.  Time will tell.

I've heard that Wikipedia isn't the best.  I like Wikipedia, I go on there quite often.  It's just that sometimes the information on there is not up to date.  Or the information is wrong.  YouTube is not bad either.  I'm on there a lot.  I don't think they're full of lies.  So, don't worry.  No need to be shocked, lol.

I remember a few years back. OK more than a few years. There was a war on a certain high profile attorney's Wiki page stating that they walked around on cloven hooves, horns on their head, etc.  Just written into the biography of the person. It would disappear.. Then get edited back in a little later on. This went on for a long time. I love Wiki :)

That's interesting.  I don't recall hearing about this.

With all the talk of the launch wave of games. Pete's new countdown video. And the talk of wiki, It got me thinking: What is everyone's most anticipated games AFTER the initial 35-50 games come out? Things we have not seen any videos on, but know are in development.

Head over to the Wiki page for the Amico for the semi-official list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intellivision_Amico

Then come back here and chime in.

There are a few absences from that list that have been mentioned. Notably Adventure. I think that we should stick to this list for now. Everyone would put Tron... :) Maybe even ET. But they are still at the Wouldn't that be somethingtm? phase.

Archon

Burger Time

Lock 'N' Chase

Lode Runner

Sea Battle (this one isn't in the list of Amico games on Wikipedia) (I think Tommy said we are getting it though)

Sub Hunt

Tron Deadly Discs (I know we all want this game on Amico)

Utopia

Warlords

Also, Imagic games: Beauty & the Beast, Demon Attack & Ice Trek.

Tommy,

There have been rumors of a Nintendo Switch Pro for a long time.  If Nintendo does in fact make a new Switch model and it comes out this fall, are you concerned that it might hinder the launch success of the Amico?

I know you directed this to Tommy but here is my take. I am not in the market for an XBox Series X Pro or upgraded model, PlayStation 5 Pro (or upgrade) or a Switch Pro (or upgrade) because I am not in the market for an XBox Series X, PlayStation 5 or a Switch. I am not holding out to buy a Switch for an improved OLED screen or the possibility to play in 4k (how well are many of those Switch games going to scale anyway?). These improvements don't really change what the Switch *is* which also means they barely move the needle in my interest level (which is some, but not enough to buy one).

I understand.  I don't even have the PS5 or Series X yet.  I'm in no hurry.  There's not any games on these consoles right now that interest me.  Plus the price for the consoles is too high for me.  And $70 for a game is nuts.  Best to wait until a good sale comes along.  I do own the Switch.  I have the original model from day one.  If a more powerful model releases I might get it only if there are some good exclusive games made for it.  Otherwise, I'll just keep my regular Switch.  I'm not big on 4K.  I still have 1080p TV's.  I don't think the Switch Pro will cause any issue with the launch of Amico.  I just hope the Amico is marketed well and won't be overlooked.  If the Switch Pro does indeed come out this fall and takes dominance as the big holiday item, it would be sad to see the Amico get left behind.  Hopefully that won't happen.  I'm not trying to be negative or anything.  I truly believe that Amico will do well.  I stand by the Amico 100%.

My top 10 advertised in-work titles list (plus honorable mentions)

1 - Cloudy Mountain

2 - Skiing

3 - B-17

4 - Biplanes

5 - Burgertime

6 - Utopia

7 - Bump ‘n Jump

8 - Nitro Derby

9 - Night Stalker

10 - Texas Hold’em

Others that make my excited-for list:

Hockey

Golf

Load Runner

MLB Baseball

My future games top 10 list (advertised or otherwise)

1 - Raiders of the Lost Ark

2 - Space Spartans

3 - Space Battle

4 - Sea Battle

5 - Treasures of Tarmin

6 - Swords and Serpents

7 - any Tron game

8 - any Star Wars game

9 - Craps

10 - Commando

@Tommy Tallarico I got a few questions on the above list.

1) Assuming IE gets the Indiana Jones license, would you envision a Raiders of the Lost Ark story arc or do you think the game would be keyed to something different (like a tie-in with the upcoming movie)?  Hoping for a RotLA based game...

2) Would you look to seek a Battlestar Galactica license for the Space Battle title?  There is both a series reboot and new movie reportedly in work...

3) More a comment than a question - While I generally agree with you on the pixel art argument, I can say that I dont really like the switch version of Burgertime; as for one I find it too cartoony for my taste (for this particular game)and two, you end up blowing through so many levels so quickly that you don't really get to appreciate them individually.

Thanks and take care.

As for the later games, I am looking forward to the following:

Asteroids - looking forward to seeing this arcade classic reimagined

Bowling - looking forward to another game of motion control (I hope they use it on this one)

Golf - see bowling

Demon Attack - hoping they have a boss level just like the original

Football - hoping they model this after Super Pro Football

Hockey - hoping they model this after Slap Shot Super Pro Hockey

Adventure - after Cloudy Mountain, I hope this will be my second fav RPG on the Amico

Burning Rubber - see Asteroids

Interesting you mention this because Space Spartans was designed after Battlestar Galactica.  With that in mind, if they don't get the license on it, I would love to see a Space Spartans reimagined!  It was a complicated game, but I'm confident the Amico Crew could make this happen! 😎

I think Intellivision Master is concerned about IE's ability to market the Amico, on the off chance that consoles from larger companies launch around the same time.

In particular, Nintendo is famous for being "The Family Friendly Platform", at least in the United States. That reputation might supersede the exact "family friendliness" of the Switch itself.

Right.  I'm worried that the Amico might be overshadowed by the new Switch.  But again if the Switch Pro never comes to be then everything is good.  So, I don't know.  I'm still confident that Amico will succeed.  It'll just be an uphill battle at first if the Switch Pro launches soon after or before the Amico does.  Not to mention if the new LOZ:BOTW2 & Mario Kart 9 come out with the Switch Pro, it'll sell like hotcakes.

Good point, but I suspect the Amico advertising will be totally different and directed at different people than Switch advertising. Also think about how Nintendo would likely advertise an improved Switch - the emphasis will be on how this one is better & existing users should upgrade. "Now play your Switch in 4K!", shot of 20 something finger twiddling in front of a huge TV to imply it is 4K (no family friendly mention there). Now with a bigger screen (maybe some 40 somethings with 40 something eyes take note of that point). But again, I don't see it being feature targeted against the Amico audience.

There is an assumption that people who haven't bought something have never heard of it, however I think the VAST majority of people have heard of a Switch. They have already made a mental check mark on if they want one or not. Of course that is actually more a percentage of 'want' which can vary over time - a lot of fence sitters got one when the pandemic stranded everyone at home, for example. However a lot of people simply tune out Switch advertising because they have already made up their minds, it doesn't matter if it 4K and has a slightly bigger OLED display. That isn't going to make grams jump off the couch and suddenly want one - again the Switch is still fundamentally the same thing just with a new coat of paint. They aren't reaching a significantly different market.

the thing is, when do you launch it? no matter when it, tyhere's a possibility it gets overshadowed by SOMETHING (new xbox or PS console/game, etc) so they are doing the best they can

That is a good question.  I know IE is doing all that they can.

LOL!  You beat me to this one... I was literally playing BD this morning (C64 version on Retropie) thinking that it would be a lot of fun on Amico... with more than one player chasing the diamonds on a bigger board!

Baseball, Cornhole, Pool, Skiing and Soccer are definitely ones that are in our sites in regards to showing more over the next month or two!

Went down to see family and my daughter at UF in Gainsville this past week.   As we were passing one of the Student Athletic Fields, there was a MASSIVE Cornhole Tournament going on.  I mean had to be well over 200 kids there tossing bean bags all over the place.

I'm thinking this might be a good sign for the Amico to break into the College market.  No other system has an interactive Cornhole video game as a featured product as far as I know.

Some marketing targeted to the College age kids might be a gold mine.  Maybe even license the major Universities with Amico dust covers, merch... whatever...
