Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Recommended Posts

As for the sixth pack in game, I still think that the Amico should keep with Intellivision tradition by offering Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack.

Pull the shifty-eyed dealer out of retirement and put him on the payroll! :)

It would be very cool if we made an Amico “friends” leaderboard with anyone on Atariage that wants to join. That way I can kick all of your butts. Especially Intellivision Master  😜

A very good video that should put things into perspective. He mentions the Analogue Pocket being delayed.  Also goes into a lot of other areas. He has nothing to do with Amico. I'm not sure if he's even mentioned it ever in his videos.  Just an all around good watch.  Talks about Just in Time manufacturing/shipping. Manufacturing containers. Even the cost of shipping has gone up almost 200%. A ton of interesting points of view. A certain Transparent CEO that posts here once in a while has said most of these talking points for quite a while.  Just a good watch. Highly recommended.

That would be neat.  By the way, you can't beat me Cranker.  For I am the master.  Lol.

Just another big thumbs up for Lon Seidman: he has been around forever, he is super ethical with clear statements on when he gets free stuff and such, loves old tech and new tech, covers nearly everything from space exploration (a bit), smart kitchen devices, 8BitDo controllers, video equipment, network switches, security cameras and mini PCs. Basically just a nerd and gadget freak who does no nonsense and good reviews. I think he is one of the best TechTubers around - Love me some Lon!

Tommy should have the programmers put "Intellivision Master" at the top of all leaderboards with a 9,999,999,999 score just to confuse and troll 😂

I saw that video a few hours ago by chance (the guy was writing 20 line long paragraphs in Smash JT's Amico videos, so I checked his channel out of curiosity). I didn't post it here, but I know it would appear anyway. ;)

It's interesting how the Amico is so different that so many people love it or hate it, while other consoles are not generating such a huge debate and reactions (think about the Playdate, for example).

In the 5 seconds I managed to watch before doing something more interesting, he said "they say you need the Amico to play those games, but that's not true, you could play them everywhere", and then proceeds to recommend the Wii U over the Amico. So I guess we could reply to him (if we were extremely bored) that "well, you could play any Wii U game in any other console (if they ported the games to them removing the double screen mechanics), so don't buy a Wii U, man! You are a Nintendo shill!".

I guess someone could take the time to make a list of the features the Amico offers that the Wii U lacks, including simple controls, exclusive reimagined classics, all games offline multiplayer, the Disc®, educational games, board/card games, smartphones as controllers from the get-go, and so forth, but for now I think we can leave it there.

Tommy, you might want to interview this guy.  Convince him that Amico is the better option.

At this point it’s mike comparing apples and oranges. They are totally different consoles. I don’t have time to even respond but to each his or her own. Following the Amico since it’s announcement gives me insight that I have never had with any other console so it’s hard to take most people seriously that throw out random comments about it when they have not even tried it. If you don’t like it don’t buy it. So many people spending so much time making arguments of why they don’t want it . Amazing.....maybe I will begin to make videos of everything I don’t want and explain why I don’t want it. Hmmmmm   😀

One after the other, they are all just butt hurt Pat and Ian fans trying to white knight for them. I remember the guy who came on YouTube a couple months ago dredging up the smash went to tommy’s But pat and Ian won’t issue and incidentally make a list of the top 10 things wrong with the Amico. He got all ten things wrong, admitted to it in a follow up video but said we weren’t focusing on the important part of the video which was Pat and Ian good, Smash and Tommy bad.

Also in my opinion it’s a waste of time at this point do do more interviews trying to convince people that this console is one they will enjoy. Time would be way better spent on getting the console released. There is no end in trying to convince people that the console is good or bad or whatever ........for some it’s good and for some it isn’t for them. The end

I am curious why only two families and a pair of friends were there who weren’t recognizable ringers. Why weren’t more people playing it or filmed playing it?

I wasn’t there, unfortunately, but I’m sure there are many folks who would not likely agree to be filmed, especially those with kids. I’m sure there will be more as more events are planned.

Starpaddler is exactly right. There was no NDAs or scripts (I saw some people claim this - but I watched some of these interviews being made and there was nothing but questions like 'did you have fun' or 'what games did you play' and so forth) BUT there was a photo/video release you had to fill and sign if you were going to be on camera. If you had three kids you had to fill 4 (one for yourself) and sign each as the guardian, that is quite a pain if you think about it and a lot of parents wouldn't feel comfortable about their kids on camera anyway. The Intellivision staff there (two people, plus an engineer who happened to live in the Dallas area) were all very nice and there wasn't any bias if you wanted to play but didn't want to be filmed. In fact I heard them encourage people to play after they just turned down signing a video release. There even was a handful of people just stood around and watched, some for a very long time so you could tell they were interested, but were too shy to even try. Finally the museum had customers but wasn't full, it was mid day on a Friday and people are still Covid cautious (even though Texas is open) so it wasn't packed nor close to it.

watching Brian's Man Cave interview with Garry & Dan Kitchen and David Crane it sounds like there could be a lot of interest of making games on the Amico..they said they talk to Tommy all the time and Dan Kitchen said the Amico looks wonderful but they don't announce anything until they are ready...would be pretty awesome
