Won't belabor the point but since it is trending - I have never been paid by Intellivision, the only free Intellivision thing I ever got was a the Amico bag & controller bag at the Frisco event (which I tried to pay back in my own way with a review for people here and on Reddit). I have 3 Amicos on order and a closet full of merch - all money out of my pocket and I have never gotten a special discount, used the same published discount codes as everyone else. Some can't seem to stand it, but I am simply a fan of the system, one which I have put tons of *my* money into. I was sold way back in the fall of 2019 when I realized it was exactly the system I was looking for.

Critics always seem to cry about 'respect' but never give it to others. Too bad if you can't take the news, but I am a fan & customer of the Amico, nothing else. If it sucks the person taking the loss is me, so it is my vested interest to track it closely and check it out every opportunity I can -  it's simple as that.

I am going out to buy a lottery ticket today and if I win, I am funding the exclusive Amico game "Intellivision Master's Cyber Battle". I hope you win.  I like the title for the game.  Hopefully it gets a physical version.  I can't wait to do the voice over.

Weird that so many regulars in this thread feel the need to consistently go out of their way to clarify that they're not on Intellivision's payroll.

Because people directly say that we are and because they are incapable of (or simply don't want to because it doesn't fit their agenda) believe we are not. So by your standards we are guilty if you stand up for ourselves and I am sure we would be damned by our silence if not. Got it - can't win because it doesn't fit people agendas.

However *my* agenda is to look forward to & enjoy my Amico so goodbye and good riddance to all that are trying (and failing) to tell me what to like and support with my dollars. Have a great day!

It seems clear to me that there is some sort of coordinated trolling effort going on.  I don't like coming down hard on first-time posters or kicking people out of a thread indiscriminately, but given recent history, I'm starting to think it's best to "act first and beg forgiveness later" until this situation settles down.  Carry on, everyone ...

It's a no win situation with those folks.

 

If "I" make an "official statement" then I'm just lying and trying to cover up something.  "WHY DON'T YOU HAVE SOMEONE ELSE SHOW US! they scream.  "WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?".  "WHY SHOULD ANYONE BELIEVE YOU, YOU'RE JUST TRYING TO SELL A PRODUCT!!"

 

But then... when we do exactly that the line switches to:  "THEY ARE JUST PAID SHILLS TRYING TO KISS UP TO YOU!!" 

And then when we show people who never heard of us before play and they like it as well they say... "THEY ARE PAID ACTORS!!"

 

It never ends with these folks.  Whatever we do or say, they will find a way to be butt hurt and whine.

Well now... it depends what program we have you on. 

Were you on the t-shirt/merch program?  Or the Amazon card?

Oh wait... we may just do direct deposit with you right?  Yeah... yeah... I'll have our CFO and Controller send you out an e-mail today.

The Retro Gaming Revival guys just made this up and posted it on their Facebook group (5,000+ members) and Twitter.

 

These guys are cool.  Very funny and great sense of humor about everything.

I am kinda curious about something, Tommy.   This situation comes up with my employer often, so wondering if it’s happened with Amico –

 

You frequently mention gathering data and feedback from focus groups to help plot a direction for Amico/Intellivision.  Have there been instances where the test and survey results strongly suggest “we should do it this way” but you make a decision to do the opposite, going with your gut feeling and personal knowledge from being a video game fan as well as working in the industry for decades? 


If so, can you share any examples?
