Sears Super Arcade II?  TandyVision II?

I'm reminded of how much a lot of us as kids hated all of those different variants, especially Sears re-labelling 2600 games and now a lot of those variants are highly sought after amongst collectors today. The Tandy [Radio Shack] version of the Intellivision console was probably the best looking version of it.

Love collecting all those variants or consoles, cartridges and boxes now. Had no clue as a kid...just played the games and systems. But I am into as a 46 year old 😂

Which is one reason I’m all in for a founders edition for the new Intellivision Amico! Having the chance to buy it knowing it’s for folks like me who love all the variations and made with passion by the folks making the system..collectors dream!

Maybe even have a special founders edition club we can log into, post scores and chat like this 😁

Great stuff. . .

I echo the sentiments about being able to early access to be able to have first choice at usernames. Also a certificate and Founder number or code, that such account could be identified or otherwise tagged as such within the online community. Perhaps a profile feature that shows the specific model a player is using.

I'll probably have others, but those were the first to jump into my mind. . .

I would also like the access to the store among others if possible

What about Warlords?  Or is [air quotes] Atari [end air quotes] keeping that IP strictly for the VCS? Maybe take Fred to Taco Bell for lunch and then he'll license it for the Amico.

It's in the list from the press release.

"Atari Classics REIMAGINED and REMADE EXCLUSIVELY for the Intellivision Amico™: Pong™, Asteroids™, Centipede™, Tempest™, Adventure™, Missile Command™, Yar's Revenge™, Breakout™, Lunar Lander™, Night Driver™, Sky Diver™, Warlords™ "

Add another vote for the homebrew game Downfall that's on a lot of Atari platforms [Falcon030, Jaguar, etc]. It's simple, fun, and addictive.

It would be cool to have a family-friendly FPS like MIDI Maze/FaceBall 2000. It hasn't been seen on a *modern* console since the 16-bit console wars.

What about Warlords?  Or is [air quotes] Atari [end air quotes] keeping that IP strictly for the VCS? Maybe take Fred to Taco Bell for lunch and then he'll license it for the Amico.

Tempest 4000 is pretty dope on the Xbox One. It most likely could run on the Amico - and strikes me as a good fit - since Txk could run on a PS Vita. If Jeff Minter isn't already involved, it would surprise me because this seems like it's totally up his alley.

We have 12 Atari licenses that we can make exclusively for Amico.  Warlords is one of them!  :)

  • Speaking of themed.. if only Tommy knew a car guy.. like a reknown car guy who did stand-up and has any sort of history with Intellivision.. and wanted to feature, let's say a 1979 or 1980 station wagon, a Plymouth Volare, a Buick Estate Wagon, a Chevy Impala or Malibu Classic or Ford Fairmont wagon... and do an episode *completely* restoring it to vintage woodgrain and gold, but completely ingratiating it with Intellivision features.. maybe a radio featuring a polished gold disc and number pad, maybe an 8-track player that has an Intellivision cart placed when not in use.  Maybe some fuzzy dice with the classic Black Jack and Poker dealer peaking over the rearview mirror.  Maybe some lighting in the glove compartment that simulates Star Strike when a button is pressed.  You know, dive head first into classic Intellivision themes.  And then, for the kicker, because Intellivision is about bringing that family experience to a new generation, you drive in a baby blue Intellivision themed modern SUV.. a CRV, Rogue or something.. the baseboards have similar LED lighting, the hubcaps look like the controller discs.. there's an integrated Amico system for the road trips and set of four controllers.  Seats feature HD rumble, you know, when mom or dad just want to sit in the car for extra minutes feeling that Astrosmash.. "You kids just head in, I'll be right there... ::vvrrrrrrrrrrr::"

OMG!!  Someone just gave me the BEST idea for the Founder's Edition!

Instead of only doing 2020 of them...

Do 2600 of them!!

HAHAHHAHA!!

I'm SO DOING THAT!!!!!!!!!

:D

And why not 5200 or 7800? Just to give more chance to everyone to get a Founder's Edition... 😋 😎

I'll have limited access to the internet, will do my best to support the Amico and get in on the founders edition.

Possible perk would be a limited founders hat

Haha my mate used to work on his show. He said Jay turned up in a different vehicle every day and once it was a massive vintage firetruck! What a legend.

EDIT: @Tommy Tallarico are those jumpoer leads in your hand? Are you asking Jay to jump start the Ferrari? :P

Great ideas, but personally, I'd go with a vehicle that's more efficient...and avoid a 2000's fad that's gone on too long.

How about going back into the future:

As long as I don't need a special decoder ring from a box of cornflakes to log in!

A modernized Hover Force would be great too.  I know it will not be Hover Force 3D.... ;)   But maybe 2.5D  :)

Cool pic!  Figures you know the Grand-Daddy of car guys. I love Leno.  Not only does he collect them, he knows the cars and works on them.  He was one of the first to use 3d printing to create molds for renamufacturing long lost forged parts on old cars.  I loved his video on the 67 Imperial.  "Now this is a car that says CEO.  If you're a CEO, you drive one of these."... Lol.  Big difference from the Red Rocket another CEO drives. Lol!  I'd love to meet him and pick his brains about cars.

No.  I was holding my sunglasses and there looks to be a red cord on the ground behind me.  :)

Speaking of cars and Founder perks, I'm guessing a chance to win your Ferrari is out of the question, Tommy?

Maybe a ride for the person who wins the trip for 2 to our offices!  :)

The stats don't lie!

And notice they are NOT playing home consoles.  There's a reason for that and we're gonna fix it!  :)

Don't fix it.

Amico is a family console for everybody, including old people.

When kids are asleep at night, parents might like playing Amico for hours.

Busy with real life so took a while to catch up!

coleco Videogame original ip:  well, although it’s licensed, it is one of the few that was available on Colecovision only.  the title is: Wargames.  Even though it had a missile command style and mindset, it was still a very different game and I think updated to modern era retro graphics could look and play fantastic

founders edition:  lots of good ideas here but let’s remember to stay feasible.  I think most of the ideas brought forth by Tommy would work well.  Any customization that changes from console to console is a non-starter.  It would be cool if there is a “thanks” available in the menu systems, very much like we see with the Kickstarter projects.  Def a limit of one PER HOUSEHOLD is important here, please don’t feed the scalpers, let us the true fans have an ability to own this piece of history.

in fact the only problem I foresee in doing this type of limited edition is the (bad) luck of a draw where some of us can’t be fast enough to get one.  With this in mind, I hope you can give enough advance notice to us so that we can try and ensure we are available to order one.  With either 2020 or 2600, I’m really concerned I’m going to miss out and I need not remind you I’ve mentioned in the past this is my retirement gift from me to me ... and you don’t want me to head into retirement on disappointment do you?  Well, do you?!?  Lol

In all seriousness whenever there are limited editions put out, the only chance we will have is if this occur sooner rather than later before word gets out because once it does, we are probably screwed.  Oh well

poutine:  my wife loves them, but I do not: cheese curds, fries and gravy is not a good mix, individually they ere ok.  In saying that, there was one poutine I tried two years ago that was fantastic:  It was spicy, a weakness of mine so it was good so I will allow your appreciation of it as non-degenerate related :)

ohhhhh I just thought of a cool potential for a founders edition perk:  your sports games‘ teams could have player names made up from the names or nicknames of the lucky founders editions backers.  Assuming 30 nhl teams, if there are line changes, then that’s 600 right there, baseball has 25 per team, football has whatever per team.  That could work!... maybe ;)

imagine that, immortalized forever in the sports games of Amico!

Enough founders talk more games announcements! My guess this one is a full motion video game.

Polish_20200106_213634424.jpg.3a3307952208fb3ee62b0414145c21ef.jpg

And now back to something related to the founder's stuff.

If the founder's is only $75 more and would cost $299, wouldn't that put the current price tag looking like $225? I know it is always changing, but curious if that is what we are looking at currently.

I also realized I never replied to the Switch question. Yes I knew it had games on it like that.
