I was also thinking something like Amiibo support for the physical media/games. Meaning you tap or sit you physical media on the controller and it downloads the game. 

It would be neat to have a running man figure, piblane figure, etc that can sit on the disc and download said games.

Alright, I just talked to Al on his fucking vacation about this, thanks to some paranoid people, I had to interrupt him.  There is no sponsorship or preferred treatment going on, Al hasn't even talked to Tommy at all.  I have, because he worked on the sound for one of my games in the 90's, but I don't actually read this thread, I leave that up to mods.  

If this shit continues, threads, including this one, will be locked.  If not by me, by Al, we do not like these sort of baseless accusations.  This crap leads to the spread of misinformation on other sites.

I could care the least bit, if someone wants to make fun of anything, including the new PS5.  But you have to stay calm and not attack individuals, with different opinions, including Tommy.

I don't even plan on buying one of these (it's not my kind of thing), so I have no dog in this race.  I'm just here to keep the peace make sure everyone follows the rules of the forum.  The rules that most people don't bother to read it seems.

Isn't it hilarious that this uniformed lazy journalist just assumes we don't have distribution or promotion/marketing.

It's because he saw the disc lights working and the pressure sensitivity on the disc (which we hadn't really shown before or really announced).

I'm guessing you're referring to the folks who were booted from this thread a few weeks ago.  You'll notice that since they were booted (mods decision, I never asked anyone to have them removed) that the place is back to normal.

I received a number of PM's from people in the TacoVCS thread who were letting me know that the guys who were booted from here were constantly bringing me and Amico up in the TacoVCS thread every chance they got (to say something negative).  When I went to check... the comments had been removed (confirmed by one of the mods who also PM'd me to let me know that they were warned multiple times that that crap needed to stop). 

I think it's kinda cute that they obsess over me as much as they do.  They even started a few fake YouTube accounts and started leaving negative remarks on videos (so obvious because they talked about their experience here and getting booted because of the Founders Edition argument they were having with everyone).

Sad to think that these folks are Gen X'ers.  They act like 12 year olds. 

They kept saying that I have some kind of control over this thread, they say I bribe YouTubers to talk positively about Amico, they say the Founders Edition is a scam to get money, they say I have the mods in my back pocket and I request people to get booted, etc.  As you know (being a mod and unfortunately having to deal with this crap) ALL of that is completely 100% untrue. 

I stopped going to the TacoVCS thread because of folks like them (no big loss there).  I have tons of info about the VCS that I was willing to share and talk about... but they told me to leave... so I did. 

I don't mind naming names.  JBeral & PlaysWithWolves were 2 of them.  Passive aggressive entitled babies who will attack folks if you don't agree with them 100% and have no problem lying or making up stuff to try and prove their lame point (which I believe is the main example of your message).  It's hilarious how they think I ask mods to boot them... they are so unaware that they don't realize they hang themselves.  They don't need my help in making themselves look petty or stupid. 

Sorry you guys gotta put up with it... but if it's any consolation... I'm sure the folks in here appreciate the extra effort that you guys make to keep it great and keep the haters and abusers in check.

I think it's cool with a pretty good price ($99 w/3 carts).  I was thinking of buying one, but then I thought... at this point I already have every single one of those games already on a lot of different devices.  The best way to play them is on my huge mame cabinet with sub-woofer, etc.  So I personally didn't get one... but for folks who maybe don't have all that stuff... it would be a nice pick-up.  Although I'm bummed that all these devices don't have the arcade ROM's!  Instead they always get the console versions (Bump 'n Jump, Asteroids... or as it's now known... "Asteroid"), etc.  Again... a better reason for me to just play the real stuff on my MAME cabinet. 

But I still think it's a solid device and hope it does well.  It's just not for me as I already have all this stuff on multiple devices.

I was going to pay you with a Founders Edition Amico... but you just said you don't want one... so....

It's really scary that someone in their 40s with children can obsess so much with something they dislike... even launching false accusations like that. As an example, SegaSnatcher/paprium_fiasco said on Reddit/Youtube that AtariAge mods were not allowing new Amico threads, but someone just created a new thread about the Amico and the mods are even helping him editing it... At this point I even wonder if these people actually believe their own lies.

Tommy, thank you for your commitment and for your passion... Thanks to your project, thousands of gamers are going to have a good time with offline multiplayer games and that's a reality, as no less than 50 games will be released and the fun that you can have with those games is what will be remembered regardless of sales figures among non gamers. I think you are right when you said that your company "has succeeded where even Google failed", because Stadia never managed to create this hype among hardcore gamers or the positive reaction from non gamers as a potential market.

The other day, some user in the Let's Obsess With Something We Hate With Pictures of Fast Food® official thread said that your console, just like the VCS, was "dead on arrival". I checked his history and, for the last 4 months, he had only posted in that thread. Here's an advice for these users and this is not a personal attack: Guys, try to find something you like. It can't be healthy to spend so much time commenting on a product you hate, especially when you define the positive attitude of the fans towards the console and its creator as "sickening" (sic). Some of us here may be a bit overhyped or even obsessed with this machine, but at least we do it for something we love.

As someone who just learned about the Amico last month and has been following it pretty closely, this thread has been really civil. Even the people who were arguing about the FE or were critical about the FE were pretty tame and civil in their discussion. I feel like all sides were able to get their opinions out.

All of that subsided and the thread has been quiet (what I would call a normal discussion thread) since. I don't know why someone came in threatening to lock the thread. Nothing's even been happening. It must be some other thread that's complaining because people can't tolerate when they don't have power or perceive someone else has power. 

Edit: Just saw the Taco VCS stuff. What we're seeing is just people who are bored with nothing to discuss venting their random thoughts. But don't allow it to bleed into this thread.

They have their containment thread and anyone can be critical, it's easy. They're allowed to be critical. But I think it was totally inappropriate of CPUWIZ to bring it in at all. If he hadn't, I wouldn't even know or care about that. Don't let their stuff taint this thread.

Also: Since that thread is monitoring this thread,  I am not part of a "cult."

You can go back through my post history now and see where I first came in and analyzed the absolute hate on this console all over the internet. Everyone repeats and says the same things. So when you come into this thread and raise the SAME criticisms, what do you think you're effectively doing? If this entire thread fills up with counter-arguments and criticisms, there is no discussion. Furthermore, it has to be honest criticism. Not just saying this thread is a cult.

You're just saying "I'm being critical because being critical means I'm an informed and smart consumer! No one's gonna' pull one over on me!" That's fine - but just know that it doesn't' really matter at this juncture. Your thoughts are duly noted and have been noted this entire time. Repeating them every time Tommy posts isn't doing anything at all.

I can't understand either why someone would go to all the trouble, wasting their time and ours for the sake of bashing something.  The only thing I can come up with is those people are very self-conscious and immature individuals who need attention and people to like them, when in reality, it just pushes people away.  Thanks to the mods for removing these "Gollums" from the thread!

I thought we were getting videos possibly Wednesday but if not, Thursday, Friday and the weekend.  I've not gotten an Intellivision email or seen anything on here.  Are they delayed or am I stuck in one of those horrible dreams I sometimes have, where everyone seems to know what's going on except me?
