Super Circus AA: with pokeyone https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1199

You supply pokey https://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1102

Most of the 7800 homebrews are by Bob or PacManPlus as he's known on the forum.

Hey Tommy,

Just saw a trailer for a film called "connected". Looks to have a like-minded message to the Amico and the timing is great with a September release date for maybe a pre-movie Ad. Thought I'd put it in your path.

Cheers!

how long until they replace all actors in movies with computer generated ones? lol

Tommy,

You introduced the "My Intellivison" song in my head. I am really grateful for that and I know your intentions were good, but... Can you please remove it? Is there a way I can forget about this now? 😁🙉

Maybe you have a water gun and the other kids are covered in mud.  They shot mud at you and you clean them off with the water.  Missiles could be water balloons.

This reminds me of Splatoon on the Wii U and the Switch.

Fun fact, the original abandoned concept for Splatoon was a world of Robots who used squirt guns and water to damage each other in fights. They all wore different rain coats and water proof gear to protect themselves.

Could be a very cool concept for Amico.

ok I have another story about this 7-11. It was about a couple years before the last story. So late 1970s. The 7-11 was just getting these new arcade games in, they were  asteroids and space invader first wave type stuff.

So anyway during the summer me and a couple of my friends are just goofing around walking about like you did back then. Suddenly we saw this older guy we knew, he was like 16 or 17, we were all like 11 or 12.  So he said he was heading up to play some of the games at the 7-11 to make sure he still had all the high scores there.  The guy was known to be a bit of a dork but he really was good at these games, so we said what the hell lets go watch him play.

So we head off on our 5 block walk to 7-11, along the way we pick up a few more guys and so by now he has 6 or 7 of us following him up to the store.  You could tell he was digging it having this little posse follow him up. SO we get there and he's strutting across 7-11 to get to the asteroids game which was tucked in corner with the other couple games they had there.   So he gets to the game and he sees this little girl 10 years old or so playing asteroids and full of bravado he says  "beat it kid, this is my game"  without hesitating the little girl looks back without missing a beat and says " shut up and wait your turn loser"  well hearing that we all lose it. We are laughing and mocking him, the lil girl told him off in front of everyone, it was classic.

It turns out this girl was from a family of all girls with a marine dad and they really took no shit from anyone.  So he basically got so embarrassed he just left, so we just all got slurpees and went home....  Cool story yes/no...

oh but there is more.  Little did I know at the time, but at this moment was the first time I ever met what would later turn out to be my wife.  Yep I ended up marrying that lil take no crap girl and we are still happily married to this day.  (fyi- she still plays arcade games to this day as well)

Wow!!  Now THAT's a GREAT story!!!

When we were in high school, my buddy worked at the Cumberland Farms down the street. There was just one Donkey Kong machine there, but a couple of us would hang out when he was working sometimes and play.  I remember a big snowstorm one night, no one was out driving...we walked down to Cumberland Farms where my buddy was working and just hung around and played for hours.  My buddy had the key to the game, so he unlocked it and let us play for free...we hung out on a snowy night, it was a ghost town...we had some soda and candy bars, chatted and played Donkey Kong.  I know this isn't a super interesting story to the masses, but those were fun times and good memories...

Cumberland Farms!  Now that's some east coast shit right there!  Do they still exist???  Anyone here from the east coast remember Dairy Mart?  They were the big competitor of Cumberland Farms back in the day.

Pity the time machine is on the fritz, or we could probably get Harmonix to whip up something new and incredible for the Amico.

Harmonix is still around and doing great!  Met with their CEO in Vegas a few weeks back and are very good friends with their lead engineer for 27+ years!  Let's just say... there will be things on the drawing board.   :)

Yikes!  More stuff getting canceled every day.  I hate to say it... but it's probably not looking very good for E3.   :(

Still keeping my fingers crossed though and standing by to initiate plan B if needed.

There is a non-trivial chance that freaking Olympics will be cancelled. Therefore, there is an even less trivial chance that E3 will be cancelled in its current form. But I think if that happens, they'll do the announcements online. Intellivision will do fine. I'm looking forward to watching a Steven Tyler mini show on Youtube E3 live broadcast 😁

Now there's an idea!   :)

Hopefully the advance warning you have that it's a possibility will let you plan out alternative ways to get the word out around that time regardless. You'd have vastly more folks watching online than attending in person regardless, so a virtual E3 should be solid from an Amico standpoint. Can still make a big production out of it.

Of course for hands on demo, I guess you'll need a certified clean bill of health or put them in quarantine after. Heck, you can sign me up for a 14 day quarantine of playtesting Amico games! 😁

I don't know how the technology interface works, but could you use an App on a smart phone to interface with the software like Just Dance does with the XBox One. The phone camera still works even though the Kinect interface has been removed. However, I don't know if there is some electronics still present in the Xbox One X that is required, since I know that even though the Kinect interface was removed from the Xbox One S, people were still able to use it with an adapter.

The thought also crossed my mind how there were hundreds of thousands of Xbox One users who were subscribed to the XBox Fitness Channel and I remember most of them were pretty P.O.'s when it was cancelled. That could be another area of interest for Amico in the future. That could be another draw for casual mom's, dad's and kids if the phone camera interface is possible.

Yes.  It's definitely possible.  We currently have 2 huge game franchises that require a phone to play.  So it wouldn't be a crazy idea.  We've talked about it in the past.

Tommy, are there plans to have something like Metal Slug on the Amico? One of my friends and I got off work one day maybe in late 2018 or early last year and we went to Akiba since that's not too far from our old office (3 stations away, I think). We went to Super Potato to check out PC Engine and Mega Drive stuff, but we ended up in the arcade that Super Potato has on 5F with a cabinet (pretty sure it's actually a Neo Geo MVS) that has Metal Slug X in it. It was either X or 2 since they are basically the same game and I think it was X, but I guess that doesn't matter.

What does matter is that Metal Slug is really awesome and a great multiplayer game and we had a great time playing Metal Slug! Too bad we were both horrible from lack of practice so we ran out of money really fast! I'd love to see something like Metal Slug on the Amico at some point. Judging by what I have seen so far, I'm kind of planning on using the Amico as sort of like a modern Neo Geo/arcade machine type thing, if that makes any sense!

Nothing yet... but that game and game style has come up a few times in the past.  I could see it making our list someday in the future.

Tommy Tallarico,

Will the Preorders you have planned in your next reveal video have a limit?

No.  No limit.

On 3/7/2020 at 12:28 PM, Michael Garvey said:

I know you said opening it up would make the Founders feel a bit more special than if it was limited.  You also mention 5200 but that was more in jest.

We're going to do 3 different colors... so no need to limit them at this time.

On 3/7/2020 at 12:28 PM, Michael Garvey said:

Will all the colors be available?

No.  Only Woodgrain, Black & White.  So 3 total.

On 3/7/2020 at 12:28 PM, Michael Garvey said:

I know you mentioned the white and black one as possibilites.  Just wondering if red and purple were available or if they are store exclusives.

They are retail exclusives.  Can't give more info just yet.

Will we be able to order more than one at a time?

Yes.  Although you may need to keep re-ordering like the Founders Edition I believe.  I'm not sure just yet.

On 3/7/2020 at 12:28 PM, Michael Garvey said:

I know the Founders had to go back in and order one by one to prevent scalpers.

Yeah... I'm not sure if we can change it easily now.  If we can... we will.  I don't do the backend stuff.

You dont have to answer these if you dont want to but I'm climbing the walls thinking about the new game reveal and preorder video coming out.

I haven't been this excited since the last video with John Alvarado.

(And yes I rewatch your videos multiple times a week)

🙂

I have John know he has a fan in the AA forums!  :)

Im.sure theirs ways to do metal slub type game and work around to an e10 plus rating.

Kinda wish intellivision would create their own rating system subset to have something borderline teen but limited tomonly certain things to fit in their own e10 us like rating that's not quite teen.

We've talked about it.  :)

Tommy, if you were the CEO of Sony, Nintendo or Sega, would you free the development tools for 20-30 year old consoles and organize homebrew contests or do you think it would not be beneficial for your company as it would promote playing in machines that you're no longer manufacturing? I don't think this kind of initiatives would be so harmful commercially. After all, hardcore gamers that are planning to buy a PS4/PS5 or the next Switch will not change their minds because there are 5-10 new PS1 titles available. If a physical release is a problem, I would make those games available as digital purchases or I would include them as extras in other games. In the end you would be generating positive news about your company and potentially increasing the brand recognition by paying homage to its legacy.

Yes.  I would free dev tools for homebrews.  Promotes brand loyalty IMO.

Hey @Tommy Tallarico,

Any interviews coming out...i'm jonesing for some news!

Had a query about "Temple of Apshai", any chance for a remake of that?

Any chance the next video would feature board games and the dice rolling aspect...my wife was beyond stoked about the idea of Yahtzee as a release :)

Cheers!

Any chance there will be a master leader board for Amico?  What I'd love to see is when I turn it on, to be able to see the high scores for each game at a glance.  I can imagine turning it on and seeing this thing only to realize my daughter has beaten my high score in Night Stalker (which simply can't stand). So it gives me maybe some motivation to jump into a certain game over another.  Anyway, it's just a thought.

It's part of our plan for sure.  Not sure if we'll have time to implement it on launch... but it's part of the plan for sure.  If not on launch... by early 2021 probably.

So you plan to lighten the restrictions on meeting an E or E10+ rating for certain games? Or will you alter the content accordingly like some people here suggested?

Tommy,

Will there be a drawing/painting type game for Amico?  What about the arcade game Clowns?  It was made by Midway in the 70's.  It's similar to Circus Atari.

We have something similar.  Based on a very popular board game (but not Pictionary... I think... even better!).   :)
