So if you want a Separate library of games on both systems then you must buy multiple copies. This will be a rare situation.

If you want to play the same game on two consoles at the same time... you would need to do this (I think this would probably be very rare).

so if I tap my controller on my second console , I can not access any of my games in the first console right ?

You can!  You just wouldn't be able to play the game that is being "shared" on the second machine.

So, it's either take the controller from room to room or buy the game twice.

I mean, really.  The games are less than $10 each!! And if you're getting the FE AND VIP editions, you already have $75 to spend.  Go ahead. Splurge. Spend the extra $3 to put it on the system in your office.  You bought 3 or 4 consoles, but $3 is going to break the bank?

I'm guessing most aren't complaining about this (I know I'm not) - just trying to understand how it will work.

Oh, I know that.  But you just know there are going to be the people out there who will say, "But Apple lets you install a game on 10 different devices."  This is going to come up in a YouTube video, haters are going to complain, and all I can think is, "You spent $1000 on FUNKO POPS, but you whine about spending $3 on a game you'll play for several hours??"  Support your game makers.

Makes perfect sense, thanks!  I just wanted to make sure if I'm playing in my study, I'm not disrupting someone else wanting to play. If they want to play the game I'm in and can't because it's in use, hopefully that will just result in "Daaaaad!" and I'll come out and play together instead. 🙂

Likewise. I'm already in for $580 plus shipping, I don't mind at all buying additional copies of games if needed, just trying to understand how it's going to work.

Also known as "running out of questions while impatiently waiting to have fun" 🙂

Yep!  Just not the same game.

That’s awesome !!!  I didn’t think you would be able to play  games on both consoles at the same time. Not playing the same game I understand.

if you are such a fan that you have 3 consoles, can you tap your controller on the other 2 systems and use all

3 at once ? I’m just bored and getting silly 😜

Hahaha!

I actually set those up like that for the picture.  I actually did have mic stands when I was recording.  :)

I used 3 different types of microphones to see which one I like the best for particular sounds while editing.

Great ! And if you are testing indoor, don't forget to add the sound of the wind !  😉😆 lol

Yeah.  The one thing I don't understand about haters is they seem to like only one thing or one system.

That's totally not the case with many on here. I see people on here who like the Amico talk about their love of ps4 and ps5 and some talk about growing up and loving Nintendo and even xbox.

Isn't being a gamer simply mean you like games.

When did being a gamer mean you HAD to like one system and only one system.

As for PS5, I was looking forward to it late last year but my enthusiasm waned.

Anything the new systems can play my ps3 and ps4 already play.

And I'm pretty burned out on the constant remakes...didnt I just buy that game on the ps3??? Why do I have to get the ps4 version?

Sure i did fall for it a number if times but it just got old.

I do hope Sony and Microsoft both do well.

But for me the Amico is the new gold standard.

The haters that read posts here can mock me if they'd like.

Having a fun game to play with family and friends beats state of the art graphics anyday.

Isn't that what all games should strive for beyond anything else?  Fun

I agree to a point.  I mean take uncharted series.  I played all of them really love that series.  But at the time I had most of them I would typically trade them in. Dont do that any more because im more into collecting . Now my son wants to play them and I dont have but maybe 1 and my son picked up a used copy of the 2nd one. So we found for about 20 bucks the complete collection and upgraded graphics.  So I dont mind it if I get it later to upgrade my collection.  But I dont buy the release when the game was just out a few years before.  The game would have to have alot of added content.  And as for the Amico its just a new console with a much different approach.  Thats what draws me. Oh and as for your comment on only likely 1 system, im with you. I mean why does anyone have to jist love 1. I like my ps2 ps3 ps4 xbox, xbox 360, xbox 1 and my pro my xbox 1 x but my wife uses my old xbox 1. Now my son on the other hand pretty much only likes his nes. He play the other systems but everything is about the nes. And hes  21 go figure lol. I dont really have a favorite because its like art they all do alittle bit of it a different way. I love playing on the vectrex and even the nuon I got. All more you do during this pandemic

How about this for Amico but with motion controls?

WAM-SE-Orange-121.png

I know there's a circus game in the works, but a carnival-themed game could be pretty cool.  There was a Carnival-themed game on the Wii, but, what about incorporating some favorites like ring toss, whack-a-mole, test your strength, water-gun rapid fire.. all the odd games in a virtual carnival (think Wario Shake It!, where you explore dozens and dozens of wild mini games),

BUT

Amico could have Bumper cars (disc controller), Amico could have a log ride where you can use your controller to lean and rock and create extra momentum for best time.  Amico could have a fun house with interactive features on the controller to let you know when a creepy figure is about to jump out or enhance what you're seeing on the screen.. run the field of all the fun, odd rides and games at a carnival,

AND

could incorporate all those really fun old Vaudeville rides and thrills that were shut down for safety.  The giant carousel that flung people off - try and hold on by turning your controller as it spins, or spinning your disc and maintaining balance - a steeplechase where you try not to get knocked off your horse, there are so many possibilities.  And it certainly isn't a genre you see much focus on any other platforms.  Utilize the controller and the fun of 2-8 people playing together and make it dozens of mini-games and silly concepts you could never pull-off in reality.

Same . Just trying to understand. Not complaining and I will buy multiple copies if needed. Anyone who buys multiple machines will not mind spending a few extra bucks if needed. It won’t be an issue for 95% + of the people who purchase the console since most will only buy one.

We are talking about it since a couple pages, but I have a question in mind since a week or two.

It's about games we can tap with our controller on another system and play it.

Let say at home we have only one console, and we have 2 controllers. We have Moon Patrol and Pong.

My son goes to his grandmother who also has a console. He want to bring Pong to play with her.

At the same time, I want to show Moon Patrol at my friend's house. Is it possible to split the key code of each game on different controller,

or all the games are only associate to one controller ?

Thank you.

Seems rare.. if there's a need, Intellivision could always issue buyers a discount code - maybe

Yeah, I'm thinking it's a 1% problem.  That's us.  ::clings champagne glass::  "Isn't life maaaahvelous?"

   🧐

If they had to multiple games for multiple home consoles played simultaneously, maybe there's a discount code for anyone buying a second game (You liked Moon Patrol?  Want to gift it to your friends?  Here's a 25% discount!).. maybe a bit of account surveillance on Intellivision's end to offer such a code to people with multiple consoles linked to the same internet router address?  It's managable but may be a lot of monitoring on the back-end they don't want to do.  My organization does software as a service and does periodic checks to see if any customers are abusing the terms (using trial content that should've been turned off) and it's mostly unnecessary - the honor system covers more than 99% of cases.

Likewise I imagine the honor system could be applied to the same account login synced to multiple systems, and a security email alert from Intellivision if your system is routinely accessing different IP addresses simultaneously or some other metric to spot potential fraud.  Or, just write it off as the couple dishonest eggs in the bigger basket.

We haven't gotten there yet.  Still deciding.

Question:  How much was the game on Steam that you requested the refund for?

$9.99

Not a big deal at all for someone like me, who buys thousands of games, retro and new, across all consoles (Amico Order #01965, here  😁 ).   But for the kiddos who just snagged a few bucks, it can be heartbreaking to spend all their cash on a game because of pretty screen grabs and/or a youtuber said so, only to find out they don't like it at all, whether for technical reasons (bugs n such) or just taste.  So it's nice to have that protection that Steam and MS offers so they can buy some other title in those cases.

Personally, I don't think I've ever used the refund options for anything I've bought for myself, but there has been many times where I've been on the fence about giving a game a try, and simply knowing that the refund option is there has swayed me to purchase and give it a try on Xbox or Steam rather than the others.   Funny how the simple option to be refunded has persuaded me to spend $$$ on so many games that I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise.

Any plans to follow the Steam/Microsoft model, where you have a couple of weeks and less than 2 hours of playtime to request a refund for any reason, or more like Nintendo/Sony, where the digital receipt says "My money now, fooser!  Bwah ha ha ha" in the fine print?

Just wanted to point out that big bad EA offered refunds on Origin before Steam or MSFT: https://kotaku.com/origin-now-lets-you-return-ea-game-downloads-for-full-r-1169643732

With my kids spending a lot more time in the house, they have been digging through their old toys and yesterday I found them playing with this:

Of course I then had to show them the video of SideSwipers are they were even more excited for Amico in October! It's going to be a great addition to family game night.

Kinda cool that I also had a Criss Cross Crash back in 1982. This thing made quite a lot of noise when you got that wheel fully cranked-up!

Let's pretend for a moment...

Just for fun, what if the 6th pack in game for Amico is really E.T.?  Wouldn't that be something.

Well we know that it's not going to be a game licensed from another company. So it's either going to be a reimagined classic or something completely new. While I would love for it to be Night Stalker, I'm guessing that it will be a completely new game. But it will make use of features on the console that haven't really been shown yet, so Tommy can't show the game yet.

I'm pretty sure he said we have already seen it multiple times. That's why I think it will be the mic game (or SideSwipers?).

Correct.  If you want to purchase the game once and bring it all over the house on different machines... that is totally fine.  Just need the controller that is matched to the machine with the game.

Tommy, does the downstairs Amico controller  that is taken upstairs to the kids' machine have to be actually used i.e. select options, mash buttons for selected game etc... or just tapped to load the game they want and then be returned downstairs for some mom and dad fun?

As of right now... in the design we currently have... you can split.

Wouldn't That Be Something™?

There is a HUGELY important thing about all of this that I have yet to announce.

A lot of these questions and answers will make a LOT more sense when you find out one of the big current secrets we have for everyone.  :)
