Damn you Canadians and your Curling!!

😂

Lol! The embarrassing thing is I just curled for the first time in my life a month ago. While we were having dinner afterwards the email from the provincial government came out saying that we would be going into lockdown. That seems like a lifetime ago.

Hi Tommy, can you help me picture how I will best make use of exactly the situation of 2 active consoles in the same household?  I'm picturing there's the "main" system in the living room that the family games together on, but there's also a secondary one in my study that I mostly solo on.

I get that I can bring the 'main' controller between the two for my content, but if we want to have both in use separately for whatever reason, will I need a separate account for the system in the study, and am I now faced with an issue of having multiple accounts where high scores are concerned and such?

I understand this is squarely #FirstWorldProblems area here, but I ordered a VIP follow-on to my FE order as a convenient way to have 4 controllers and a spare system in another room in case others are using the family room for something other than Amico (perish the thought!), but starting to wonder if a 2nd system is going to be more hassle than it's worth.

Anyway, while a fringe case, I doubt I'll be the only one with more than one active console in a household, so what is the vision for how that situation will work?

I'm not sure I understand your question.  Could you please elaborate?

You would be able to use both at the same time in separate rooms if you wanted.

Yeah.  The one thing I don't understand about haters is they seem to like only one thing or one system.

That's totally not the case with many on here. I see people on here who like the Amico talk about their love of ps4 and ps5 and some talk about growing up and loving Nintendo and even xbox.

Isn't being a gamer simply mean you like games.

When did being a gamer mean you HAD to like one system and only one system.

As for PS5, I was looking forward to it late last year but my enthusiasm waned.

Anything the new systems can play my ps3 and ps4 already play.

And I'm pretty burned out on the constant remakes...didnt I just buy that game on the ps3??? Why do I have to get the ps4 version?

Sure i did fall for it a number if times but it just got old.

I do hope Sony and Microsoft both do well.

But for me the Amico is the new gold standard.

The haters that read posts here can mock me if they'd like.

Having a fun game to play with family and friends beats state of the art graphics anyday.

Isn't that what all games should strive for beyond anything else?  Fun

The perfect post.

Whoops. Tommy I think you’ve made Pat’s point for him... why buy an Amico to play Bean Bag Toss when you can just buy a real one and put it inside your house. 😂😂😂

Great first post!  Welcome to the Q&A thread here!

Yes!!  I definitely want to do that!

I’ve been lurking in this place for *years* ! And especially this thread since I bought the Founder Edition!

Fingers crossed for the Vectrex Prism. (That’s what I’m calling it in my head!)

After sending the company e-mail with the new shirt idea attached... our Art Director Mike Dietz stated...

"Forget the t-shirt, lets make underwear!"

Sadly, most of my initial thoughts on merch were just plays on old video game marketing, and are more than likely protected. Still, after the... unique turn this particular idea has taken:

T-Shirt - Tommy on one side, huge smile & a big thumbs up

John Alvarado on the other, face-palming

Between them, a slogan: Tommy encourages what John Alvaradon't!

Also, a black shirt with an Amico controller and the words: It's dangerous to go alone...

BRING FRIENDS! Followed by a second controller of the same color scheme, a controller of a different color scheme, and a phone showing the app.

The Amico logo would be on the sleeve, in about 20 font.

And, I know you said T-shirts, but could you imagine a 3 button polo themed to Astrosmash where the buttons are the bombs?

Tommy, those photos are awesome.  Mic stand?  Naah, I got the top and bottom of a Yahtzee box right here, and this cornhole bag for the right angle, who needs a mic stand?

I asked a question that answers this I think. I asked if I bring my controller to a friends and get some high scores, will those scores be updated on my system when I get home. The answer from Tommy was yes. But I am guessing that if they want to play Games on both systems at the same time, you would need 2 copies of each ?

I dunno. That would mean that if you played your game on a friend's Amico, you couldn't play it on your own system back home for 24-48 hours, unless you mean access without download or playing the same thing on both systems at the same time.

You would be able to use both at the same time in separate rooms if you wanted.

Is there a master account per system, or individual profiles per person?  If I play on either system, am I 'Me' on both, or am I 'Me1' on one and 'Me2' on the other. How would 2 systems interact with the 4 members of the family, does everyone need to be attached to a specific controller, or can they 'log in' anywhere they want, and what ramifications are there to what content they can access on each system?

Let's day all my purchased games are on the main system in the living room.  If I want to play Night Stalker on the system in the study, I have to take a controller from the living room system to the study, or I can just log in to the study system and have access to all my content?  Does each member of the family have access to all games on either system, or are they paired to one system (or controller) or another?

If none of these questions make sense, then it's likely because I'm over thinking it and everything is fine. 🙂

How about a hat that says Intellivision Baseball on the front with the running man to one side then on the back of the cap it says Yer Out

Although I'd prefer to have my face on Women's underwear, I'll take having my name on a cap as a win.

I'll always be Atari Master at heart.  Lol.

If Tommy does bring back the Vectrex, I'd be the Vectrex Master.  And if he was to bring back the ColecoVision, I'd be the ColecoVision Master.

Interesting story about this one, my Mom say my video on Moon Patrol in January and called me saying that game was at her house among a pile of on old stuff from when all the kids were young. She had been using it to as a coaster!  OMG, suffice to say she sent it too me pretty quickly.

This video game as a coaster is the nerd equivalent of finding out mom is using your manly shop tools to do something different with... like using a wrench as a hammer or a screwdriver to poke holes in things.

Right, in her defense she had a doily on top of it so it was protected quite well

I’m wondering the same questions. Hopefully, a good solution can be found.

The way I am doing my setup is.  Family room Amico is my Kid's account.  My Office Amico is My Account, Parents Bedroom Amico is my wifes account, My Garage Amico is my Burner account to troll happiness to people :)  Everyone has High Scores on their system that we can all challenge.  If I visit the Family room with my controller and achieve my high score on Moon Patrol then when I return to my Office and with a tapity tap tap...voila it is there.... Even though Amico's solution may not work for eveyone I still think it is pretty good considering, but perhaps there is still time for adjustments, Tommy Listens to people everywhere, is is the ultimate lurker :)

Tommy’s solution makes sense. I guess I’m wondering more if my main controller breaks, in time we’ll find out.
