$9.99

Not a big deal at all for someone like me, who buys thousands of games, retro and new, across all consoles (Amico Order #01965, here  😁 ).   But for the kiddos who just snagged a few bucks, it can be heartbreaking to spend all their cash on a game because of pretty screen grabs and/or a youtuber said so, only to find out they don't like it at all, whether for technical reasons (bugs n such) or just taste.  So it's nice to have that protection that Steam and MS offers so they can buy some other title in those cases.

Personally, I don't think I've ever used the refund options for anything I've bought for myself, but there has been many times where I've been on the fence about giving a game a try, and simply knowing that the refund option is there has swayed me to purchase and give it a try on Xbox or Steam rather than the others.   Funny how the simple option to be refunded has persuaded me to spend $$$ on so many games that I probably wouldn't have bought otherwise.

Thanks for the additional info!

We still haven't decided on what we're going to do.  Need to do a little more market research and focus group testing before deciding.

Thanks!

Of course I then had to show them the video of SideSwipers are they were even more excited for Amico in October! It's going to be a great addition to family game night.

Kinda cool that I also had a Criss Cross Crash back in 1982. This thing made quite a lot of noise when you got that wheel fully cranked-up!

CrissCrossCrash...

Hmm....

Let's pretend for a moment...

Just for fun, what if the 6th pack in game for Amico is really E.T.?  Wouldn't that be something.

It WOULD be something!

Unfortunately it's not.

:)

Well we know that it's not going to be a game licensed from another company. So it's either going to be a reimagined classic or something completely new. While I would love for it to be Night Stalker, I'm guessing that it will be a completely new game. But it will make use of features on the console that haven't really been shown yet, so Tommy can't show the game yet.

Yep!  Completely new and the BEST party game we have!

Tommy, does the downstairs Amico controller  that is taken upstairs to the kids' machine have to be actually used i.e. select options, mash buttons for selected game etc... or just tapped to load the game they want and then be returned downstairs for some mom and dad fun?

Must be used.  The second it leaves the area, it's disconnected and any game that was being played (that wasn't owned by that machine) will no longer be playable.

I like it!  Very flexible and avoids possible piracy issues. Basically just 'logging in' to the other system by tapping the controller without having to do any annoying password/code entry.

I don’t think any refunds should be offered. The games are already so cheap. It could be abused and MS and Steam can afford it if they choose . No refunds for Nintendo or Sony digital purchases unless I am mistaken.

There is a HUGELY important thing about all of this that I have yet to announce.

A lot of these questions and answers will make a LOT more sense when you find out one of the big current secrets we have for everyone.  :)

This is what kind of blows my mind.  There have been some 12,000 pre-orders for Amico, and yet there are still A LOT of features about this console that we have no idea about. E3 was going to be the big information blowout, and yet, even without that information, orders seem to be fantastic at this early stage.

This just hit me today... Does anyone else see the irony that the top trending conversation on AtariAge is all about the Intellivision?  The irony is palpable!

There should be a new website called IntellivisionAge.

With such low prices, the credit card minimum fees & such that Intellivision would have to pay, potential abuse, etc. I think a store credit within a short trial time would be a reasonable policy. If they don't like within a couple of days they can request a credit back and then use it for a different game. That way Intellivision doesn't have to reverse CC transactions & such but the consumer still gets a reasonable return policy on a product which often has no returns or recourse - win, win.

Nice to see some old school, practical foley work going into the games, warms the heart of someone who loves practical visual & sound effects :)

Since there are so many secrets yet to be revealed, you need to start labeling them so we can reference back into this thread ;-)

I hereby label the secret above as BS-001...oh, wait...

Question about controllers:

So if I take my controller downstairs to a basement that doesn't exist because the water table in St Pete FL is 6 feet and my pool can't be a normal 8 feet deep one, but let's say I set up an Amico down there anyway and have it connected to the water pump next to the live alligator that pest control will not come out and remove, so he's on my shit list now, and I have a TV screen around the corner on the porch right above the wasp nest, where the geckos keep trampling on it leaving tracks and a bat keeps crashing into at night, so I can play Utopia outside with all my pets that I never asked for... Will I get my arm eaten off by the alligator or the the animal control worker?

I just checked the VIP pre-sales page, it got extended to Friday. Orders coming in must still be steady.

That's great, because I am still on the fence about getting one as my third unit.

The FE,a purple one later and maybe a VIP edition to round it out.

But at 3 units, then I am pushing my money limit and I probably need to put some money aside for games.

What a great problem for me to have!😄👍

It sounds like you have real life Nightstalker and Cloudy Mountain going on at your house - lets just hope Florida doesn’t decide to play Astosmash next

not to mention food and water if the economy should crash. just saying. in precarious times like these i would avoid getting into debt as much as possible.
