One of my favorite IMAGIC games. Who here is looking forward to the sequel?

three-stooges-intellivision-amico-beauty-and-the-beast.thumb.jpg.80065648bebea5c26f178cede73a1802.jpg

Imagine a stooges game for amico.  Where you also gave a cart racing option think roadrash but with the stooges .  I enjoyed the original game for what it was but it was too limited and repetitive. But I could imagine the amico doing something new and fresh with the property.  Imagine 8 player kids where you ate the stooges or  villains or cops or whatever scenario  characters.  But why just mo Larry and curly... why not shemp.  Joe besser  and curley joe.   And some of the regular long standing actors that played in stooge shorts.      Could expand on the board game mini game concept  with multiple style modes of play.  And make it something with real depth and great replay value.  Could be a hilarious game uf done right.  Stooges are still popular and has a multi generational fanbase from kids to 100 year olds

Hey Tommy, here's another idea for the console: a blue light filter, some kind of night mode, so people can play games using other sets of colors that reduce or remove blue light (which is not good for us, especially at night).

But their love for Bacon and Taco's are for real !!!!!   The question  here is , even with people knowing who and what these few are up to /doing here and what there real intentions are . The obsession to post  negative undertones  and discredit what Tommy and IE are doing and have accomplished so far just keep coming.  Oh those people are playing co op games but not video games with each other  with us here , IE and Tommy . Grow up would you's ... Maybe order in some Taco's with Bacon so you can focus on that....

The sad part is that these are grown men in their 40's & 50's with clearly nothing better to do.  And this particular guy says he teaches kids.

Yikes!

Is Beauty and the Beast re-imagined being worked on for the console release? Will the game be available at launch?

Hasn't started yet.  Won't be there on launch.  But it's at the top of our "to do" list for coming in 2021!

Probably not for much longer.  We tried to roll out the red carpet for them with the "independent" thread, and they blew their chance.  We don't need them here any longer if they're only going to persist in bringing more of the same negativity.

Would ya look at that.  This comment got the most LIKES and THANKS out of all the posts in here.

Looks like there is a consensus in here and that maybe these folks aren't as slick as they think they are.   :)

I always like to provide context to help newcomers understand things when they jump into something midway through.

In this case, page 62 of the trolldependent thread is very helpful and worth a read to understand the current drama.

That was just one of the many.

My personal favorite passive aggressive phony hypocritical moment is when he scolded other forum members about posting memes making fun of the PU Podcast and then went back and screen grabbed some of my Twitter posts trying to prove how bad I make the AA forums look because I talk about posting here.  Coming from the same handful of folks who rip and tear down Atari multiple times every day for almost 3 years.  Mostly by creating meme's (which are sometimes hilarious).  The hypocrisy was off the charts.

Nice hobby.

Everyone must always feel the need to inject their own personal opinions into the storyline.  Whether they are the target market or not.  We see it every day on the news and especially in political commentary.  It's just the way the world works in the 21st century.

You are 100% correct. In journalism 101 the first thing I was taught was the 5 W's - who, what, when, why and where. Nowhere did it include my opinion. This is the number one problem with news and journalism today!

Most of these 'journalists' never took a day of news reporting classes. You are miles ahead of them for even knowing the basic 5ws.

I only had a years worth before I had to drop out of college & I can clearly see the malpractice every day. Another reason why I cut the cord and haven't had cable TV since 2013.

Yeah, I can deal with that ! lol

Also, I forgot to mention that in Tommy's House,  we can have access at some of his Arcade Games, reading a comic book, listening music from Video Games Live, etc.  😉

But do not make any noise because Houdini will quickly come to end our little adventure ! lol

Aww! He's a sweetheart. He won't attack us cat burglars in the game. Just swing that tail and lick our faces.

... Then he'll lead us to where Tommy keeps the silver. 😈

The author seemed to be playing devil's advocate a lot... which is totally fine.  No issues with that.  But I once again need to point out... this is something written by a hardcore gamer... not our initial main target audience... which again... is totally fine.  And although the lines below are a bit baffling, it shows that the author wasn't thinking outside his own bubble... which again and again and again... is totally fine and I get it.

If I were to counter argue his points, they would be the following..

The Amico is a niche product that targets a specific type of gamer,

Actually... it could be said that the PS4, Xbox One & the Switch targets a specific type of gamer (hardcores) and THAT market is much more "niche" than the 3 billion people who play casual and mobile every day.  We target ALL people who play video games AND even the ones who don't.  We're not the "niche" ones... the other consoles are.

The Intellivision Amico's game library doesn’t feature any must-have games. While many of the Amico's games are exclusive to the system, none are going to move any systems...... the Amico severely lacks any impressive games that would get consumers excited about the system.

This is the worst line in the article.  How can ANYONE who has NEVER played a single of the 30 games we've shown decide that our library doesn't feature any must-have games and that "none" are going to move the system??  This is where the "elitism" shines through.  This is an absolutely ludicrous accusation based on zero experience of ever playing a single game.  It's literally the equivalent of looking at the covers of 30 books and declaring that not a single one of them will be exciting to consumers or is going to sell.  The proper way to get his point across would have been to say... "Without having played any of the games and only seeing short clips, I'm not sure if the system has found it's "system mover" just yet.  I personally wasn't impressed with what I've seen so far, but we'll just need to wait and see when the system comes out and we get our hands on one."

if it turns out to be a mobile gaming device you can plug into your TV, then the Amico will be a tremendous failure.

Again with this?  Yes, I agree.  It would be a tremendous failure.  But we're not doing that, have never said we are doing that and in fact make it clear that the mobile industry is WAY LACKING (i.e. we're doing the opposite of what they are).  I get it... the Ouya failed.  It was taking mobile games and trying to play them on your TV.  We have never stated that this is what we're doing (in fact the exact opposite) and how many couch co-op games are there on mobile?  How many with tactile feedback?  How many with ZERO microtransactions, Loot Boxes, in-app advertisements, annoying pop-up's after the game is shut off?

🥵

In case some of you missed the first full PlayStation 5 gameplay trailer (I believe?)

Very family friendly and something you can really rally the entire family around to join in the fun.  Can't wait to see the couch co-op with this.

And folks call us a "niche" product?

I am always looking for a fun pinball game to play and I am hoping one is in the plans for the Amico.

Maybe a four player coop game where each player controls a different flipper on the table.

Video pinball is a lot of fun when done right and would make a great interactive family game!😊👍

So you're just gonna leave Harvey Fierstein out of this party and think we wouldn't notice???

You'd be amazed how little I confuse him with Harvey Wienstein anymore... 😶

First the weird imaginary friend patent and then the ultra violence on the PS5 trailer. Not one, but two negative things about Sony in the last pages (and I was the one who brought the patent up!).

Based on what happened with other Japanese company, I guess 2 or 3 users will soon come here to let us know that "we can't bash Sony to defend the Amico".

It's just a matter of time. Let's just wait a bit more and...

and they were all the same shape , whether it was cookie puss or fudgie the whale.  We always got fudgie the whale.  We had a carvel a few blocks from the house.  It was that and Friendly's for your ice cream needs back in the day in SJ.

Down the shore, we had a shore house for awhile and literally 3 houses away was a DQ.  I ate the greasy prok roll and cheese sandwiches and the Peanut Buster Parfait at least 3 to 4 times a week ( yet never gained a pound)  Oh to have the constitution of a teenager again.  Pretty sure if I had one DQ pork roll and cheese followed by a Peanut Buster Parfait today it would be the death a me  ( not a bad way to go though :))

DUDE!!!  Friendly's was my absolute FAVORITE!!!!!!!

I grew up in Springfield, MA which is right next to Wilbraham, MA where the plant and home office was for Friendly's.  And we lived on the border of Springfield so it was only a few miles from my house.

We took tours in grade school of the plant and would always go there after every baseball game with the whole family and team.  So many GREAT memories there.

When I went back to Springfield for the first time in about 15 years (a few years ago) I was so sad to find out that our local Friendly's (the one I went to the most) had JUST closed a few months before.  I literally sat in my rental car in the parking lot and cried.  Crazy emotional moment.  It was like a part of my childhood was no longer there and it upset me.  One of the BIGGEST reasons behind bringing Intellivision back as well!  Not gonna let this one die.

And if folks feel I get too defensive or show too much emotion and that I don't "act" like a typical CEO.  Now you know why.  This is PERSONAL for me.  I'm not some well paid 7 figure earning suit or CEO talking head concerned with stock holders and the "bottom line" or our "quarterly returns".  This is much deeper and a lot more personal.

The bigger problem is that as a society, we allow it to continue by those that do not recognize it, and support it.
