Hey @Relicgamer, your last message before the TonyTGD one is repeated. 🧐

But I think it's cool and extremely interesting that your 21 yo son loves the 80s and 90s rap metal. Here's an advice: show him some 1989-1994 MSDOS games (Lucasarts, Sierra, id Software, 3D Realms...).

I want to believe young people turn retro because they actually prefer 1980-2000 creations. I mean, we didn't like the 60s so much when I was a kid. We were lucky to live those times as children/teenagers. 🤘

I could could try but hes still hung up on nes. That kid is a purist.  Hes beaten super Mario 3 bionic commando faxanado mega man and many more . Wont even use a game genie lol just want to experience it the original way and absolutely hate emulation.  We bought a couple of the nes minis and he wont touch them lol. So maybe in the future I can push the old pc stuff. Well he does play star craft so nltheres hope lol

It's like having a conversation with a brick wall.

His lack of being able to judge something outside his own head is exactly why he'll never be a "real" journalist like he imagines.

Oh... that and the fact that he doesn't even own a Switch or a Wii... yet LOVES to always bring them up as a comparison to Amico.

:D

He's stuck with opinion blogging and making nasty YouTube videos that his 15 negative and hate filled followers watch.

Me & Amico consumes his online existence.  We are so interesting to him.  He can't ignore us.  We must be doing something right.

:)

It depends on the game and the style.  Games like Moon Patrol won't (because we have a great versus and co-op mode that won't need it) or Missile Command... but things like Cornhole, Skiing (in Ski Cross), Shark! Shark!, PONG, etc. will.  I'd say there are more games that have it... then don't.  And even within some of the games that have it (like PONG for example) it can be turned off.

As a video game composer I was never a fan of allowing folks to do that.  Hahahhaa!  ;)

That being said... we have a super cool retro style interactive music shooter style game that WILL allow you to do this!

Awesome to hear about the difficulty levels -- and good to hear that it can be turned off too. I am excited to play Shark Shark with my kiddo.

The interactive music shooter game sounds intriguing.

Its true.  To me a true gamer loves and appreciates all gaming. Not to say you will love it all but can appreciate it especially as a art form. Ive played games I never thought in a million years would enjoy and was pleasantly surprised.

Saw this last night lol thought you would all love this. When I saw this I thought Microsoft must be worried about the Amico.  Ive never seen them advertise couch coop lol. No comparison in my eyes. Like coop at best is 2 people on most of these games.

I haven't seen this posted yet so sorry if it has been already. Found this Venture Beat article on Amico.

https://venturebeat.com/2020/04/17/you-can-invest-in-the-intellivision-amico-through-fig/

If you haven't preordered Amico yet looks like here is another good opportunity to. It is still just the woodgrain, black, and white.

Very thoughtful way you handled this person.  However it has come to light he is a dire Wolf in wolf clothing.

If folks in here are going to engage, you should probably be aware that he has started e-mailing Intellivision employees and game developers and YouTubers to try and get them to say nasty things about me or to ask them if I'm paying them to be silent or say nice things about me and/or Amico.

This is how wacked he is.  He continues to publicly say he's a "journalist" and as I've told him in the past... he needs to Google the word "libel" if he's going to call himself a journalist as opposed to an opinion blogger.  This is moving beyond harassment and our attorney's have said as a "journalist" he has legally crossed the line on a number of occasions and we're certainly keeping track.  Have you ever seen a real "journalist" go off the deep end like this?  And how about the "reaction" video he made about our trailer.  In his mind... he thinks he's being professional.  Have you ever seen someone with such little self-awareness?  He legitimately has some issues going on.

The other thing to note is that he has been banned and blocked from not only here (multiple times) but from Reddit, multiple YouTube channels, Twitter and Discord by multiple people... and some of those were before he ever heard about Amico.  Clearly a pattern of vile hatred and rubbing people the wrong way.  A true narcissist and egomaniac to think that the only opinion that matters is his own.

A number of people have reached out to me that somewhat "worked" with him and they've told me absolutely disgusting and horrible stories.  I'm not going to repeat them here, but lets just say that if the #MeToo movement ever got involved... it wouldn't end well for him.

Shame on him.

well technically that wouldn't be shilling anyway since you're the one that's paying intellivision in order to advertise for them. a parallel example would be a whore offering to pay you for her services. 🧐

That's kinda the funny thing as well... that a lot of YouTubers actually purchased the stuff themselves.  Yet are called "shills" none-the-less.  :)

He tries to put on a professional facade at first because he wants to play the victim if you attack him.

If I could Tommy.. I like the new "promo" video.  It was well thought out and engineered to a smart and sensible crowd.  All too often these Gaming things really don't hit target audiences well, as most buyers don't give a crap about what the console is about.. they want one or two specific games, and only buy the console upgrade because the graphics are upgraded, new game version.. etc.

You both did a great job of giving specific reasons about the whys, the do's and the yes's in a very positive way.  Talking about a product you are producing is easy, you obviously have a knack for it, and do well in front of the camera... but I liked seeing her perspective as well.  Great stuff.

I will say though... the backgrounds of both your choices of venues... was... well ... for lack of better words... distracting.  I only say this because at times I was looking around her museum of Egyptian artifacts in awe.. and although I'm not much of a Spiderman fan, I found a lot of cool things to look at, and lost my focus.

Keep up the great work.  Really looking forward to the release of this... especially with all the crap we're all going through lately.  It was good to see such positives waves coming from both of you.

No negative waves man...

:)

Totally!  Yep... I hear ya.

We did that completely on purpose.  Think of how many people will pass it around to show their friends the Spider-Man room or Egyptian room.  A number of folks on Twitter have been discussing it and they tagged certain comic book websites, collector TV shows, etc.

The other reason was for folks to understand that we're different and not like other manufacturers out there.  You won't see us in suit and ties and we appeal to emotions over technical jargon.

It's all part of building our story for now.  We got a really great plan and I'm excited for all of you to see how it's going to unfold.  Most people will never even know anything we ever did over the last 2 years.

Y'know what I'm most excited for?  When we start our campaigns that just show random average non-gaming people on the street or in a mall playing it for the first time and getting their reactions.  That's all it will take.  THAT quick image is more powerful than me talking about the machine for an hour.  Throw in a few one or two line reviews from the top magazines, newspapers, tv networks in the world, a few of the best gamplay shots... and maybe a celebrity or two... and you really have something special and unique.

Here's a 30 second ad for Video Games Live that is over 10 years old at this point.   A non gamer or casual gamer would NEVER think about going to a video game symphony show.  Yet our audience is made up of 65% of people who are NOT hardcore gamers and 35% of those are not gamers at all (not even casual).

But wait!?!?!?   I thought people aren't going to want to buy an Amico because of our GRAPHICS?!?!

Are you trying to tell me that people (and kids) actually care about gameplay and design?

I don't believe you.

And I always LOVED the Carvel guys voice at the end of those commercials!  I'm assuming he was the owner.

For those of you who didn't grow up in the northeast part of the U.S. in the 70's & 80's... here's a little "taste" (pun intended!)

I have no doubt about it.

Not only I am looking forward for the announcement and to see gameplay of the game, I am also really curious why you can't (or don't want) to show us things about burger time. To have some surprises, but is there anything else ? 😅

Exactly!  It's the difference between a true gamer and an elitist fanboy.

And both are totally okay!

It's when the elistist fanboys declare that everything they believe is right and anyone that disagrees with their opinion is wrong or just a "shill" and MUST be getting something in return for liking me or the system.

It's great that others are catching on to the couch co-op train.  I'm guessing it has more to do with the corona situation than Amico (although ya never know!).

That being said... I can't see grandma or non-gaming mom picking up Borderlands and Gears 5 anytime soon.  So we're still S.A.F.E.
