I haven't seen this posted yet so sorry if it has been already. Found this Venture Beat article on Amico.

https://venturebeat.com/2020/04/17/you-can-invest-in-the-intellivision-amico-through-fig/

If you haven't preordered Amico yet looks like here is another good opportunity to. It is still just the woodgrain, black, and white.

Thank you so much for posting this slightly negative article.  We all know your heart is in the right place.

For someone who is so into having "discussions" about Amico... you certainly keep dodging all my questions and discussions don't you?

You're such a phony.

I have no doubt about it.

Not only I am looking forward for the announcement and to see gameplay of the game, I am also really curious why you can't (or don't want) to show us things about burger time. To have some surprises, but is there anything else ? 😅

Alright , I've got a question! Since we had a video yesterday, and apparently you've got a big reveal planned for Rich on Monday...

When's the next video?

Here's the final lines from the article:

'But the Amico isn’t for me. I have a PC and three consoles connected to my TV. So maybe the company is onto something I don’t quite comprehend. And maybe some investors on Fig will jive with that vision.'

Another delusional person who is convinced everyone else is just like them, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Nice to learn how I can invest though.  Thanks for showing me another way to support the Amico team.

But wait!?!?!?   I thought people aren't going to want to buy an Amico because of our GRAPHICS?!?!

Are you trying to tell me that people (and kids) actually care about gameplay and design?

I don't believe you.

:)

For argument's sake, let's say they're right.  Let's say that the only thing anyone who plays a video game cares about is graphics, and the better a game looks, the better it is. The big game companies are pumping out consoles that will give you graphics like you've never seen before, and therefore, it could be argued, they are the only ones that people will want.

Then in the same vane, you'd have to ask the question, with so much high quality video content available, why would anyone watch YouTube? If visual quality is all anyone cares about, then nobody would watch 95% of everything on YouTube. Nobody would spend hours watching Tik Tok videos. Literally nobody would watch a poorly produced news program with John Krasinski when they could watch the Avengers in 4K Blu-Ray with surround sound on a 60" plasma TV.

In the end, aren't these guys essentially making the argument against what it is they themselves are doing?  Humans are weird.

Well... at least the author was honest when he said...

"So maybe the company is onto something I don't quite comprehend."

Yes.  That is clear.

And that's fine.  Not for him.

He said he has all 3 major consoles and a PC connected to his TV so I'm assuming he doesn't think he's the average person/consumer anyway.

I just find it once again interesting that there aren't many "journalists" out there that can just report on a simple news story anymore.  Just the facts.  It seems that everything needs to be an "Op Ed".  Everyone must always feel the need to inject their own personal opinions into the storyline.  Whether they are the target market or not.  We see it every day on the news and especially in political commentary.  It's just the way the world works in the 21st century.

Lucky for us... we don't really need the gaming press to succeed in our mission.

Some of the mainstream things we have waiting in the wings are really going to make the difference.

Lots of Idea that I should need to write on paper, and try to translate in English. 🤔

But let just say this...

Part II

We are talking about a stream that will replace E3, so no advertising.

What I want is to have moments of suspense between each revelation, and in an original way.

In my 1st example, I said that we could see Cara's family playing 4 players.

It could be Shark! Shark! (for us it would not be new, but for several others yes). But it could also be Burger Time or Frogger !

Then the German developers will introduced us to the new Ski-Cross Gameplay for the skiing game. (They are playing instead of working on a new game ! lol )

Here is an example for a 3rd unveiling.

The host (Victor Lucas ?) informs us that earlier this week, IE made a surprise at Tommy's House and that we are going to see the little video that was shot.

We are in Tommy's living room, and we see him playing with his father with the original baseball game from Intellivision.

Tommy asks his father if he remembers the last time he tried to play a newer game of baseball (We can see that or not !).

In the discussion we understand that the controls were far too complex, even that he had failed to turn on the console ! lol

It is at this precise moment that John Alvarado communicates with Tommy and says to him :

"Tommy, we're finally done. Now you can try it with your father!"

Here we are, now we see Tommy and his father playing the new Baseball game on Amico and having simple fun ... etc. etc. 😃

Also, in another segment, we could have a making of, like Tommy recording sounds for Corn Hole, dice sounds for Farkle, and another revelation.  etc.

Thank you.

Yeah... we're definitely needing to change our announcement plans.  Still talking about it.

Big meeting later today about it.  If anyone has any ideas... now's the time to let me know!

Having a live stream is really the only option... but if I can get a big celebrity that could help.  Of course if money was no object I'd get something like Aerosmith or a Video Games Live show happening throughout the announcements/stream... that would be pretty epic!

:)

But trying not to spend that kind of money at this point... especially when we don't know how many units we'll be able to produce this year.

Anyway... please throw out some ideas and try to keep the "budget" in check.

Do you have a BIG Disney game ready for launch?    Say Tron for example.

Get Disney to put it on the Disney Channel or Streaming....  The Family Console teaming up with the biggest family oriented company on the planet..

With music from Daft Punk?

Or when the show a Tron related movie or show, have a teaser lead it off.

I have to believe they wouldn't mind crossover marketing right now.  They are bleeding cash... Parks closed, theaters closed.  Families stuck in the living room a-plenty!

If I could Tommy.. I like the new "promo" video.  It was well thought out and engineered to a smart and sensible crowd.  All too often these Gaming things really don't hit target audiences well, as most buyers don't give a crap about what the console is about.. they want one or two specific games, and only buy the console upgrade because the graphics are upgraded, new game version.. etc.

You both did a great job of giving specific reasons about the whys, the do's and the yes's in a very positive way.  Talking about a product you are producing is easy, you obviously have a knack for it, and do well in front of the camera... but I liked seeing her perspective as well.  Great stuff.

I will say though... the backgrounds of both your choices of venues... was... well ... for lack of better words... distracting.  I only say this because at times I was looking around her museum of Egyptian artifacts in awe.. and although I'm not much of a Spiderman fan, I found a lot of cool things to look at, and lost my focus.

Keep up the great work.  Really looking forward to the release of this... especially with all the crap we're all going through lately.  It was good to see such positives waves coming from both of you.

No negative waves man...

LOL, yea same here for the background, but as the video is replayable, I liked it.

WRT to your first paragraph, I take that to be more a true gamers perspective. For Amico, Night Stalker for gamers will probably be out sold by something like Monopoly for Moms. Amico is different in that it doesn't need one or two system sellers, but rather it has the opportunity to have different system sellers for different demographics, and that is something that just isn't currently available to the other systems, and is something I assume IE is planning on leveraging heavily.

I just had an idea for the Safe Cracker game. It could be a bonus, so no need to complete the game.

Towards the end of the game, we could have the mission to infiltrate a very beautiful house. We'd find out it's Tommy's.

By looking everywhere, we would find a key in a safe as well as documents belonging to his company.

We would have to go in search of the office of this company, and when we got inside, we could discover several easter eggs and even some secrets.

Example, a document speaking of EarthWorm Jim with the date of June 1, 2021 registered.

In other rooms we might see information about the Moon Patrol sequel. We could even have a game demo or two already released, which would also advertise these games ...

In short, that was my idea that crossed my mind without taking the time to think about it ! lol

(By the way, I have never played this game so I don't know if it can work ! lol )
