Question for Tommy. And excuse me if this has already been answered, I can’t keep up with these hundreds of pages in this thread.

Amico Strategy and RTS games.

Games similar to:

Command and Conquer and Sim City, or Pikmin.

Any in the works?

(This is a slight aside, but we are aware of this problem.  We are working on a solution which will make these previous questions, and Tommy's answers, easier for everyone to find; just bear with us as we put it together.)

I second that! A Tower Defense game would be awesome, and I mentioned Theme Park World a few pages back is prime for an update.

Someone needs to sift through 600 pages and compile all the info into a Tommypedia.

Just so you are aware, RetroAdvisoryBoard and I are the same person. I noticed the other day looking at the mirror.

My initial intention was writing interesting 20-line messages, but, aware of how people love the extremes these days, I ended up using this account to write 1-5 line messages and the other for 40-line messages.

Just kidding! And by the way, he should come back soon with his new video. 🍸

Here is my interview with Tommy. My mic was real choppy and cutting out a lot unfortunately. Oh well

I am enjoying this now.  Nicely done.  It felt different from other interviews so far.  I can't quite put my finger on it but like it.  Like two dudes chatting but each sharing equal time to ask each other questions instead of one way?    Example.. Tommy seeing you had that unique gift only 15 and he did not have one so he was asking you questions about it.  Seemed to go both ways.  It worked for me.

Hi Tommy,

Any chance Amico will work with BT headphones/airpods?

May save a marriage or two for units put in the bedroom; what could be more family friendly than that?

And now for something completely different, 1001clones is using a Switch Borderlands thread on Reddit to try to convince TonyTGD that he was just using "the same VPN" as LordRayken (click "Continue this thread"). He also says he has been sending PMs to "himself" in AA and that proves they're 2 persons. 😐

I wanted to post this here because well, it sounds like a lie and I guess mods can confirm that. The guy will never admit it, it seems. That's the end of the story and I hope we can concentrate on the games now. Fortunately most new users are legit and today we found out about a cool board game thanks to one.

I just don't get what's up with some people, That Tony guy is completely out to lunch on a short bus , with mandatory helmets. He still goes on that he did nothing . With 1001 Im still floored as to why he would do something like that and now to bash Albert and Jaybird. In my opinion they are the most fair and down to earth.  And once again  all these DRAMA for  Video game consoles.

First post here so I hope i'm doing this right and not breaking some rule. I've browsed this forum every day for a long while now but never had anything important to say, today I made an account;

I am so excited for the Amico, I lost interest in video games especially console video games some time around the Xbox but this news of the Intellivision Amico is real exciting to me again so much so that I actually got a Founder's Edition pre-order in.

As for my question though - Has anyone thought of a Crokinole game on Amico? It seems to me like it would be absolutely ideal! You control placement of your disc with the controller's disc, then you "flick" across the touchscreen to launch it, it'd be almost exactly the same skill set as used in playing the real game and I believe it would translate into an Amico title very well for their board game selection. I'm really looking forward to that slick Farkle game that has been teased but wow if it had Crokinole too that'd be something else.

Many thanks!

Hi Scrundle!

WELCOME TO THE MADNESS!!!   :)

Thanks so much for joining in the conversation.  So great to see new folks.  Hope you'll be sticking around.

I had NEVER heard of Crokinole until today!!  No idea how I've never come across this before!  Just looked up some videos on YouTube and the wooden boards look AMAZING!!

I then went on Amazon to buy one and the really nice boards are $300+!   So cool looking though.  And a GREAT reason to make a video game for it!

NOTHING comes up in Google when I put in Crokinole video game.  So I'm not even sure a video game has ever been made?!?!  (I could be wrong, but couldn't find anything).

Thank you so much for the info and idea!!  I'm all over it!!!

Welcome to the Amico Q&A Thread!  GREAT first post!!!!!!!

The game has been around for a couple of hundred years I believe but the reason it isn't a household name is the high cost of the setup. A good crokinole board and other equipment to play it costs more than the Amico does these days!

Yeah... tell me about it!  Your first post here just cost me $350!!  Hahahhaa!

Case in similar point;

Elitist (take your pick):  Makes statements that “Amico is fake, its not real, its never going to come out’

Tommy: Shows their controller design, shows various form iterations,  powers it, shows HW/SW display results of the inputs for disc direction, disc force, touch screen sensitivity/accuracy and gyroscope, which by all accounts should showcase to any doubters (well those who have the capacity of reason) that the controllers are a real design with real working electronics, logic and hardware.

Elitist (you know the one): Paraphrasing from memory - Tommy shows off the touch screen like its some great hi tech thing, its been in cell phones for years.

You just cant win with these folks, so just don't play their game. Best to draft a general form response, paste it in to any posts that warrant a response and move on.  If they continue to just receive canned responses, they may just get board, and results in more of our time back.

Other "things" that have been declared by said YouTubers...

1.  If it ever comes out, it will maybe sell 5,000 units "if they're lucky".

2.  The only people who may be interested in buying it are people over 50 who had an Intellivision growing up.

3.  No developer is going to want to develop for it.

4.  They won't be able to get big licenses.

5.  It will NOT be sold at retail.

They have literally been wrong on every single thing they've "predicted" so far... yet they'll sit there and make fun of a real analyst like Michael Pachter.  Talk about ZERO self-awareness.

It will be fun to watch these kinds of folks MOVE THE GOALPOST from month to month.

I think the danger they have as they continue to double and triple down on their ignorance is that they risk being the butt of jokes when Amico becomes a huge success.

They'll become the "Coleco Chameleon" of YouTubers.

Wouldn't That Be Something?
