Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Hi Tommy,

Any chance Amico will work with BT headphones/airpods?

May save a marriage or two for units put in the bedroom; what could be more family friendly than that?

Great question.  That's never come up as we're always talking about family & friends together.  Not sure if that would be possible.

This sounds like a question for the amazing and wonderful @RxScram!

Take it away Jeff!

Intellivision Amico Includes:

Not to belabor this point, but I looked at that conversation on Reddit.  Here's some additional information regarding the 1001lives and LordRayken accounts:

1) Both accounts are using the same computer to login to the forum:

SharedDevice_2.jpg

SharedDevice_1.jpg

This completely goes against 1001lives' comment that perhaps they are both using the same VPN.  Given that the same computer is being used to make posts from both accounts, that pretty much blasts that argument.

2) The vast majority of the IPs being used by these two accounts do not appear to be a VPN, but a broadband connection from Charter Spectrum.  Now, it's certainly possible that a VPN is still being used, but see my next point below.

Spectrum_IP_1.jpg

3) The IP address changes frequently, but amazingly both accounts often posted within a short period of time of one another using the same "current" IP.  If these were two different people using the same VPN provider, the odds of them both getting the same IP address repeatedly at the same time seems damned unlikely to me.  I ran a bunch of the IPs used by these accounts against a VPN checker.  These tools are not 100% accurate, but still useful.  One of the addresses, used for a short period of time, again, by BOTH ACCOUNTS, was listed as a possible VPN, and that's the only one I was suspicious of as far as that goes.  The others were reported as not being a VPN:

Possible VPN (IP shared by both 1001lives and LordRayken):

VPN_Check_3.jpg

Charter Spectrum (Initial IP for LordRayken in 2016 when that account was registered):

VPN_Check_2.jpg

Charter Spectrum (one of the IPs used by both LordRayken and 1001Lives, same town as the IP from 2016, the rest of the IPs used are all similar to this one):

VPN_Check_1.jpg

4) The IP address beginning with "4.", from a completely different company in a completely different geophysical location (but still in the US), was also shared by both accounts posting within a short time frame of one another.  This is a possible VPN hosted by Level 3 in Dallas:

Shared_IP_1.jpg

The odds of two different people using two entirely different ISPs and posting from these different ISPs with the same IP address repeatedly within minutes of one another on the same thread on AtariAge seems rather improbable to me.

5) The LordRayken account was registered back in late 2016 with an IP address (the one beginning with "74." above) from the same ISP (Charter Spectrum), town and city used more recently by both accounts.  This account was used several times at the end of 2016 and then was dormant until March of this year when it suddenly became active again to post in this thread.  The recent posts from both accounts, over three years after LordRayken's account was created, are coming from the same ISP and town.

6) When I ban an account (which frankly does not happen that often), I almost always get an email from whomever was banned.  The fact that I banned two different accounts and haven't heard a peep is telling.

As for private messages, the only ways an admin can normally read them are:

1) Being invited to a personal conversation by one of its participants.
2) If a PM conversation is reported, I can then add myself to the conversation.
3) I can login as another user, but I only do this when someone asks for help with their account and it's not something I can easily troubleshoot otherwise.  And not without their permission first.  I've only done this a few times, and I've never looked at someone's PMs when doing so.

I consider private messages to be sacred, and I have never peered at someone's PMs without permission.

If 1001lives/LordRayken wants to plead his case, he's more than welcome to use the site's contact form (link at the bottom of every page) to do so.  Otherwise I am not spending any additional time on these two accounts.

He has already deleted the references to the VPN. Only the comments about the PMs with himself remain now. Good job! 😅

Hey @1001lives / @LordRayken, why don't you admit the truth, man? Oh and could you also explain to us why the frack have you done this? 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♂️

Tommy,

What about doing a freeze mug for the IE shop?  It's a plastic mug that goes in the freezer.  Then when you're ready to use it, you pour your drink into it.

Would love that.   Would like to do water bottles as well.  Unfortunately, right now we can only do the stuff that's on the Printful.com website.

That's okay.  I understand.  Perhaps in the future the Printful website will allow for a freeze mug.

Other "things" that have been declared by said YouTubers...

1.  If it ever comes out, it will maybe sell 5,000 units "if they're lucky".

Regarding the interest in the Amico in, at least, the USA. When I came last year to the US for the PRGE I went first to Seattle. I put on my trusty Astrosmash t-shirt and did some sightseeing. I wandered around in the Seattle city center when suddenly a guy approached me and told me that he recognized the game and was looking forward to the release of the Amico.

Hi Scrundle!

WELCOME TO THE MADNESS!!!   :)

Thanks so much for joining in the conversation.  So great to see new folks.  Hope you'll be sticking around.

I had NEVER heard of Crokinole until today!!  No idea how I've never come across this before!  Just looked up some videos on YouTube and the wooden boards look AMAZING!!

I then went on Amazon to buy one and the really nice boards are $300+!   So cool looking though.  And a GREAT reason to make a video game for it!

NOTHING comes up in Google when I put in Crokinole video game.  So I'm not even sure a video game has ever been made?!?!  (I could be wrong, but couldn't find anything).

Thank you so much for the info and idea!!  I'm all over it!!!

Welcome to the Amico Q&A Thread!  GREAT first post!!!!!!!

Never heard of this game but I looked it up and it seems like a perfect game for family and friends to play together !

The only people who may be interested in buying it are people over 50 who had an Intellivision growing up.

Most think history started when they were born. Nothing of significance ever happened before then.

In the late 90s I was at a CD store and saw a couple of teen kids pick up a Styx CD. One of them said "Whose Stixe?" As in St-eye-x. I knew I was old in my mid 30s then.

For those who thought that people only want Fortnight & big AAA 3D games, in comes Streets of Rage 4, and it's getting rave reviews. It looks like 2D is so old, it's new again!😁

I'm so glad this game was made, there's not enough good beat em ups. Last good one was Streets of Rage 2 (not counting 1vs1 beat em ups).. and that's 27-28 year old game.. amazing how time goes by. The first SoR I finished with my dad on normal and hard difficulty.. good times!

I just installed Beats of Rage on my mini cabinet I built and love it. It's like Streets of Rage 2 with sprinkles of 1 and 3 in there, and some other little bonuses.

TJ Did u used to go online in the 80s when there were BBS's and DDial chats? those were cool times...when i tell somebody that i was online years before the internet started they look at me like i'm George Washington or something lol

Forgive my posts, as I'm about 70 pages behind.

Same here. Most people don't understand the BBS thing that happened before the internet made it big. I think I spent about $180 for a 1200 baud Hayes modem back in 1987ish. One of the most exciting peripherals I purchased for my Atari ST computer back in the day. So many hours spent on the Pocket Protector BBS. ;-)

Back to the topic:

Question for Mr.T

1: Have you ever watched the TV show Reboot from the early 90's?

2: Any personal appearances to promote the Amico in Western Mass in the future?

3: Did you ever own an Atari or Commodore computer?

Hilarious.

You need to make a game out of these great Photoshop images. Upload the original image too so we can try to find all the differences between the two pictures.
