Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Great question.  That's never come up as we're always talking about family & friends together.  Not sure if that would be possible.

This sounds like a question for the amazing and wonderful @RxScram!

Take it away Jeff!

Possibly, but it's not something we'll support right away. We're already pushing the limits for the number of connections and the amount of data we can push through a single bluetooth host. Perhaps a future firmware update will add support, but we'll probably be busy adding cool new accessories instead!

With that in mind though... a lot of tvs nowadays already support bluetooth audio. Why not pair your headphones to the tv?

I have a question regarding the Breakout game. I see in the demo that the gameplay is horizontal. Are there also boards that have vertical gameplay ?

Hilarious.

You need to make a game out of these great Photoshop images. Upload the original image too so we can try to find all the differences between the two pictures.

Thanks, I bought 1 generation too early. If i watch something on apple TV, I’m good; cable TV, not so much.

My recollection is it starts out that way but switches to horizontal after some number of levels (at least as of some time a ways back - things change).

Yep!  I did a 3 day driving course in Formula cars at Laguna Seca.  And although the group didn't race together at once... I did win the weekend for the best times.  Have driven in other races around Southern California such as Buttonwillow and others.  Have won Go-Cart tournaments as well.  Mostly in Southern California & Las Vegas.

Nice!  I'd love a run down through the corkscrew in a formula car, that must have been an awesome sensation, your rear end is only inches from the pavement!  Sounds like you have natural skills, there is a big difference between cruising around in your Ferrari and hitting braking points and apexes.   Mucho respect!  Closest thing for me was Nascar cars at Las Vegas motor speedway (amazing!) a few years ago.  I spent most of my youth driving way too fast down dirt and snow covered logging roads in northern Maine.  If you learned to drive on snow and ice...it's a part of the reason car control comes naturally.

Awesome photos, thanks for posting.

Also:  Sick helmet design!  You should do a special edition Amico wrapped like that....

Here's a cool video that I passed around on e-mail today:

@Tommy Tallarico@tommy this totally could be a sleeper hit like cornhole has potential to be. but I think you guys could  make it more  special.  .   Say different size boards  making it more challenging.

Why just 4 ayer max how about an 8 player board

DUDE!!!  Friendly's was my absolute FAVORITE!!!!!!!

I grew up in Springfield, MA which is right next to Wilbraham, MA where the plant and home office was for Friendly's.  And we lived on the border of Springfield so it was only a few miles from my house.

We took tours in grade school of the plant and would always go there after every baseball game with the whole family and team.  So many GREAT memories there.

When I went back to Springfield for the first time in about 15 years (a few years ago) I was so sad to find out that our local Friendly's (the one I went to the most) had JUST closed a few months before.  I literally sat in my rental car in the parking lot and cried.  Crazy emotional moment.  It was like a part of my childhood was no longer there and it upset me.  One of the BIGGEST reasons behind bringing Intellivision back as well!  Not gonna let this one die.

And if folks feel I get too defensive or show too much emotion and that I don't "act" like a typical CEO.  Now you know why.  This is PERSONAL for me.  I'm not some well paid 7 figure earning suit or CEO talking head concerned with stock holders and the "bottom line" or our "quarterly returns".  This is much deeper and a lot more personal.

Loved Friendly's. My hangout was the one on corner of Berkshire Ave and Bay St, was my now It's a Chinese restaurant. Chocolate almond chip in a cone! Yummy!! I was bummed out when I saw Russell's restaurant on Boston Rd was gone. One of the best breakfast places in Pine Point area. And of course Tony's Pizza it's still there. Tommy as we get older we appreciate the simple things in life. Be it a classic ice cream sundae or a classic video game. Keep up the good work. And remember, stay frosty!

Rick

ohh and I felt the same way you did about friendlys when i saw The Home Depot replaced the Dusk to Dawn drive in! So many great nights there, and first dates! LOL

Yes!

Very cool!  Thanks!

I can't believe that Patchwork game is above things like Ticket To Ride.  We got the Patchwork game a few weeks ago because it was at the top of everyone's list of BEST GAMES and we absolutely hated it.  I just don't get that one.  Clearly it's popular... so mad respect to the creators.  But we just didn't find it fun at all.

btw... why did you change from cherry to grape?

:)

SO TRUE!!  I grew up driving on icy and hilly roads!  Easy to steer out of a 100 MPH corner when you've done it a hundred times in your mom's wood panel station wagon in slow motion 100 times when you were 16!

:)

Yep!  Already on the drawing board!  I'm a HUGE fan of the AVG Flying Tigers.  Me & my dad would make the model Revell P-40 Warhawks when I was a kid.  Still have them!

You'll be seeing that design in a LOT of Amico games!  It's one of the unlockable Moon Patrol vehicles!  And of course... in Bi-Planes as well.   :)

Is Farkle the same as the game Zilch? I read up on the game and it doesn't seem that different. I played a lot of Zilch growing up.

Holy s**t there's so much lol.

The original shot has too much for a 30+ year old.

Mario PJs? I got a pair of Cookie Monster PJ pants, but they were a gag gift.

Totally!  Tons of potential.  Different and more difficult boards would be cool.  More bumpers, different shapes... could even do a golf course looking one with bunkers, water, etc.  :)
