Thanks!!

Yeah... it was really funny when you guys were pulling old J interviews from 15 years ago where he's talking about Simple Fun and bringing people together no matter what their skill level.

We had a good laugh over that!!

:D

He really is SO PERFECT!!

Is he aware he is contractually obligated to follow the Atari Age forums and post daily in this thread?

(hopefully it's not to late to scribble that in crayon into his contract before he notices)

I don’t care what Pat and Ian Have to say. It’s best not to give them any More attention or publicity of any type.  Why should we care ?  😎

Agreed.

It feels like with today’s announcement of Allard, it’s a good time to put a line in the sand and leave the haters behind... leave those folks to play by themselves in the kiddie sandbox reserved for people whose contribution to the discussion has little (if any) value, and doesn’t appear based on any sort of reality.

If there is going to be doubts about Amico’s success, I’d rather hear from people who can thoughtfully articulate their thoughts and engage in a meaningful conversation with Tommy, Allard, etc.

I imagine Covid is going to mess with the release date to some degree, but without that, we’d be about 5 months away from release. Five months!! This is no time to waste efforts on the people who just don’t get it and are entrenched in hating it. There are more exciting things to talk about.

Phil Spencer has 600K followers on Twitter. His Amico message has 20 replies in 30 minutes. Today is a great day for Intellivision Entertainment.

684.4K to be more precise.... but who is counting?

I wholeheartedly agree Jake, let the Pat and Ian hate show have ZERO views!

I didn't misread... My reality wins! 🙂

From the Venture Beat article:

"But Allard also remembered his roots. As a gamer, he grew up with the original Intellivision and published his first game Lemonade Stand in the early 80’s for the TRS-80 Color Computer."

All of this news has reminded me of my days when I was working as a game buyer in Montreal. We sold to blockbuster and other Video rental Stores that rented video games which was basically all of them at the time. I worked at this job from 1994-2006. I went to all of the E3 shows. The first one was the biggest thrill with mario64 on display !!!! I was in heaven. The games , the booths , the meetings , the atmosphere and of course the S.W.A.G. !! They game away so much stuff in those days. I was cleaning my garage the other day and I found a few huge boxes filled with video game t-Shirts and lots of other stuff I got from the E3 conventions and from the game manufacturers. I must have have over 100 t shirts brand new in storage !! Those were the days !!! Loved that job !!

Just dont make us send in Kool aid proof of purchases to get the free Kool Aid game like in the past.  Im too old for that much Kool aid, it would likely kill me or put me in a month long diabetic shock  :)

Wow... By the looks of it, so many hardcore gamers have just learnt about the Amico thanks to Mr. Spencer. Check out the comments, and the tweet has 600 likes in 1 hour.

Talk about free promotion right there.

What I find cool is not only his tweet... but the positivity in the comments section.  :)

First really nice tweet from Phil. If he only wanted to wish J the best, he could have easily just chopped out that first sentence. Also pretty clear that the Amico is on the big boy's radar.

Tommy, congrats this is a huge deal and one of the icons in gaming that got me to buy an XBox, I bought it on his vision for the productm mostly.  This might be a good time to drop a surprise VIP edition sale :)

I was thinking the same thing.  Amico's gravitas seems to have increased a little today.

And to think, this is all being done without any marketing or advertising.  Makes you wonder what will happen when that effort starts.
