My wife wants Q-bert so bad on this thing. I asked Tommy about it on a live stream and he said he's going after it, a division of Sony owns it, and their interested in working with Intellivision :)

Cheers All :)

This came up a few hundred pages ago and Tommy indicated it was in the works, or at least on the list.  He went so far as to say Sony approached him about the possibility.

The idea that Sony would be into having one of their products on a different system is really cool

Dig Dug.. my favorite game!

Thinking of Dig Dug... wonder if a 2.5 or even 3d version was ever made for this game?

Would be kind cool have a 1st person version of Dig Dug, although I think of Amico they said no 3D stuff... but bet you could still have fun in 2.5d version.

TJ

i'm much more of a Mr Do guy! both great games tho

The closest that I know of would probably have been "Dig Dug Deeper" from the early 2000s:

Porno title! Dig Doug Deeper.

I never got the fascination with Q*Bert. I played about $1.50's worth of quarters on it, but was done. Like Asteroids, it's one of those famous games that didn't appeal to me, I guess.

I had the same feeling for the game until , It came up in a HS challenge and once I put some time into it and learned how to control the dude properly it became a fun and challenging game to play.

Most home versions of Qbert were awkward because of the rotated controls.  Intellivision Qbert didn't have that problem.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but the controls never really bothered me.  When I played my first home version of Q*Bert—almost certainly the Atari 800 version—I don't know if I was even aware at the time that it was originally an arcade game, but I quickly figured out that the controls were rotated 45°, and that's just the way I learned to play it.  I still configure the joystick the same way when I play arcade Q*Bert in MAME and elsewhere.

Speaking of Q*Bert ... while I'm digging up 2.5D/3D classic game remake videos, here's a sample of the Q*Bert remake that Hasbro released in 1999/2000.  Warren Davis—the creator of Q*Bert—has said that he would have designed this version differently, but I can't help but wonder if an Amico version might be something like this, only in HD.  (This is footage from the PlayStation version, but the PC version that I played was mostly the same.)

Hey Tommy, any chance of picking up the Cinemaware catalogue for the Amico in the future?  They produced some excellent games, such as: Defender of The Crown, 3 Stooges,  It Came From the Desert and The Rocketeer.

I just thought it might be fun to add Foo Fighters to B-17 Bomber.

An Amico version of Defender of the Crown would be the cat's pajamas, I tells ya. Think of all the little mini games that could be utilized by the controller...

Man the haters are going to new levels. You know its bad when YouTube deletes their comment but you can still see it in the notifications. So bad I couldn't even post it here nor would I want to. Makes me realize how bad it has to be for Tommy. Hats off to you sir for putting up with these disturbing people

Yeah I can see that. I think its just one those games that follows you through the years. But I think all of the games could be looked at the same way. And the controls initially do feel off but for me it has to do with playing games that tend to use the standard up down left right and that game you have to hit it at an angle if I remember correctly.  Its been a while.

I agree. I don’t know how Tommy handles all of this constant negativity but I’m thankful he is confident about the Amico and doesn’t seem to let it get to him. Why can’t people enjoy whatever type of gaming they like and just RELAX ? I feel like I’m in the twilight zone 😧 Some people  have time to waste I see !!!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Tommy and the whole team. You have no idea how happy you have made me. This has been my passion Since I heard about the Amico back when it was announced. You would probably not be getting all of this backlash if you kept everything quiet and did not discuss price , show early demos and let the real fans follow this project from beginning to end, but I am so thankful you let us into into this project and into your life .👍

Thank you 😊

You'll never guess what was on ESPN 2 tonight (Directv), Jacksonville ACL Cornhole Championships...  They are actually playing doubles, wearing masks, and social distancing.  Really interesting, I didn't know it was a pro sport.  I wonder if the Amico version has doubles?

Original... but I love Legacy as well.  That final battle scene on the bridge always brings tears to my eyes.

Have you played Tron 2.0 (2003)? Back then it was amazing experience being in that Tron world, great game.
