Yes!  The new Soccer is VERY MUCH based on the original!

I even kept the super strange DIMENSION WARP (i.e. go off screen and show up on the other side) because it's more fun and easier to play like that.

Your kids FIFA it's not.

:)

Also a good thing in Intellivision Soccer where the "phantom" players so that the position of the players that where not currently visible could be derived from the once currently visible. This allowed to pass the ball to a player outside the visible section. (This was badly missing from the Commodore 64 Soccer.)

Sorry for the bad english. What I wanted to say:

So, I was an Atari guy (still am) and then went onto PC gaming which is what I play on to this day.  I have never played an Intellivision game ( I am a collector and own a bunch of games, just no console!), so my choices are strictly based on the new versions shown in the gameplay trailers:

Cloudy Mountain -  I love adventure (all the Sierra/Dynamix games were the best!) and D&D/RPG Games.

Biplanes - I don’t recall seeing a trailer for this, maybe just one second in the first trailer.  I am into planes and I have seen gameplay of the original and it looks fun.

Baseball - No footage of either of these, so I would go with Baseball

Bowling - Again, I don’t think there has been footage of this one yet, but Wii bowling was a big hit in our house.  It got my wife to play video games with me (well, just that one game!).  I’m hoping this one will get her to play again and have better motion control than the Wii had.

Safe Cracker - Not knowing how the originals played, and only seeing the gameplay for this one is why I selected it.

Auto Racing - This one reminds me of the Atari Indy arcade game I used to play a lot of back in the day.

Breakout - These are Atari ports so yeah I know them well!  Breakout just looks fantastic in it’s Amico reimagined form.  This is what I think of a reimagined version to be, familiar but with a new twist.

Cloudy Mountain - only because I love D&D but both look awesome.

Armor Battle - haven't seen enough of Bi-Planes

Baseball

Bowling

Bomb Squad - has to be based on the original, one of Intys best games..but Safecracker looks incredible.

Auto Racing - this one looks like a lot of fun. Evel Knievel looks like Excite Bike.  Meh

Missile Command looks like total mayhem... Lots of fun.

Hopefully we see more videos and new screen shots soon.

Night Stalker and Cloudy Mountain are on my top 3 with Moon Patrol.

Always Baseball before Soccer !

I am a little tired of Bowling games. No pictures, no hyped for now.

Cornhole is something new for me on a video game, looking forward to play it.

If Horse Racing was there, it would be the undisputed winner.

Safe Cracker. It's Imagic ! :)  And it's a thief game, I like to be a bad guy once in a while ! lol (Something that I can't do in real life !) 😁

Auto Racing because I will love to control the car on small tracks with the disc pad.

Evel Knievel will also be cool with an historical part to it. That will be the game for my 8 year's old son for sure ! He like motorcycle and stunts !

Missile Command could be a sure winner playing together. But I would like to see more of it. Different screen ? Etc.

So I chose Breakout, because at first glance I will say it will have more replay value.

One thing is sure, I will buy them all. That will also allow everyone playing on my system to find a game that fits their style !

Trick question?  Based on what I've seen/heard so far:

Night Stalker

Armor Battle

Baseball

Chuckin Corn

Safecracker

Auto Racing

Missile Command

but, am more intrigued to see more of:

Cloudy Mountain

Biplanes

Soccer

Bowling

Bomb Squad

Auto Racing

Breakout

I think we have a good deal of gameplay or discussion on most of the others, these I'd be more interested to hear and see more of.

So, basically, casting a non-non-commital vote for any tie breakers 🙂

This isn't to say there shouldn't be a baseball game that's more 3D, but ignoring the 2D classic Intellivision baseball gameplay would be a shame. 2D baseball would likely be a favorite for me because it's a great format for video game baseball.

I think that's where a lot of the eyerolling, the "we don't even NEED this thing, PlayStation/Microsoft/Nintendo give me everything" retort really misses.  Baseball.. you make a baseball today, there's a formula for how it's done.  It's going to be batter's perspective, it's going to be perfect timing to get that curve or slider.. it's going to be outfielder's first-person perspective to field that ball hit your way, the quick button switch to grab and throw with your analog stick to the desired infielder.. it's going to look the same because the formula is kinda stuck with "this is how a baseball game is supposed to look and we'll never deviate from it".

That's great for EA or 2K Sports, but, it is so completely derift of creativity.  Why not give more of an overhead view?  Why not focus on the mechanics of the game as mini games.. not every game has to be "Baseball Simulator 202_".. I miss mutant league sports and robots doing ridiculous things in the sport.  I miss an overhead perspective.  I look forward to MAYBE sending my teammate a cue that I intend to run, or maybe I'm playing the field and notice the runner doing something I THINK is a tell, and I want to very discreetly send a warning to whoever's playing Pitcher - 1st base runner looks like they want to steal.  That alone is a fun play mechanic, and I DON'T KNOW HOW Sony or Microsoft can make this work.  Some elitist podcaster is gonna tell me, "Just buy 7 Switch Lites!  Game of the YEAR!"... but that's not how these companies think of baseball games.  To Nintendo's credit, they thought outside of the box with Toy Baseball on Clubhouse Games 51.  But that's a solitary mini game.  They really haven't made an off-the-wall baseball game since a third party effort on the Wii with Backyard Sports, Backyard Baseball and MLB Power Pros Baseball.  The Switch has a few different baseball titles - RBI 19 Baseball, Super Mega Baseball 2, SNK's Baseball Stars 2 (a retro throwback) and the import-only Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball.. but, they largely simulate the standard perspective and don't really mix up how you could handle special plays, certainly don't get too outside the box with odd moves or get silly with the physics.

And that's part of the fun, part of what makes playing a sports game on a video game system entertaining.  It's fun.  Some games can be ultra realistic.  Others ultra cartoonish.  When you're playing Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, you're not concerned with the physics holding up some comically large Piston Bull.. you're playing a pattern game, a survival game where you learn opponents (eventually), with the trapping of a boxing game as its presentation.  I think most modern sports franchises are soooooo hung up on capturing the entirety of the experience, from season modes to franchise building and the ownership behind them - which I LOVE.. I can spend a whole spring and summer consoling myself with how my Mets are doing, because come September in real life, my Mets aren't often doing so much to console me.  But, I also love games we can jump into and expect totally different experiences - under the theme of baseball, or going through several of the familiar motions, but, a different experience I can just pick up and play.  And I don't have to explain all the potential play options to my kids or friends who are over.  Here's a controller, it's a couple buttons and a couple options on your controller screen to check out, otherwise, you can figure out the disc and play along.

Where's THAT game?  And why is Tommy making us wait another week to give us a peek?  :-D

Yes, finally someone who got them all correct 😄 The bowling/cornhole pair is very equal to me, as I havent seen anything of Bowling yet I might have chosen cornhole, but I imagine both will be played a lot in my house.

I have The Show on my PlayStation, along with Super Mega Baseball, and yet the baseball game that still gets the most play in my house is the tech demo from Wii Sports.  There is something to be said for simple and fun.

I agree with others, that first one is a cruel beast of a choice.  I also prefer the bowling choice because of the hours I put into the original but I suspect I will appreciate Cornhole more (plus I'm playing Premium Bowling in VR and that's kind of redefined bowling)

And Wii Sports baseball is a 3D game.  No reason a 3D game can't have simple controls.  Amico will have more than one baseball game.

Can I amend my answer to have all of them? If not, definitely the ones that I posted above.
