I just ran across this story about Apple Arcade. I’m a big Apple fan but Apple Arcade has never really tempted me.

As I read it, I felt for the developers... must suck to have a project pulled. 

 

A question for Tommy if you can answer... have you had to set a developer free for any reason during this process of launching the Amico?

We've been pretty lucky so far... but that's why it is so important that we handpick every developer... and they are all top notch.  Had to re-design some stuff (mostly art related).  But nothing major.

Cloudy Mountain - one of my favorite games; but got to say NS looks and sounds freaking amazing and will be picking up both day one 

Biplanes - but loved Armor Battle nearly as much. The new AB looks good as well but looks to have an entirely new feel

Baseball - but (you guessed it) will be picking up Soccer as well

Cornhole, based on the physics I saw and sound design work mentioned, but assume all games will be given similar attention 

I rJemember Bomb Squad being real fun growing up but tried it again recently and couldn't get into, but will be trying again. Never played Safe Cracker and looking forward to it. SC gets my vote for this set. 
 

Auto Racing. This ones easier for me, but Evil Knievel looks fun too (and yes I had the Stunt Cycle  growing up)

Think Breakout ekes out the win here, but looking forward to both. 

Tommy, assuming not, but any chance the originals would ever be re-released with AI added for the two player only games; Sea Battle and Armor Battle, as examples?

Glad I’m not the only one. I didn’t want to feel like Charlie Brown in the Halloween special when all the kids are looking at the candy they just got and Charlie Brown says, “All I got was a rock.” 

I have two cards and neither seem to do anything on my iPhone 8, with or without the Amico app open.

Probably something simple, but I haven’t figured it out yet.

Me too, and I read this in the terms & conditions:

“The following sweepstakes is intended for viewing, or as applicable, participation in the United States only and shall only be construed and evaluated according to United States law. Participation in this Sweepstakes is void where prohibited. Do not proceed in this sweepstakes if you are not a legal resident of the United States or if you are a legal resident of the United States and you do not fall within the eligibility requirements set forth in the official rules below.”
 

It sounds like the contest for the 10 Amicos and other items is only open to US residents. But I’m no lawyer.  Seems odd since they sent Golden Tickets around the world.

Some clarification would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, with apple products you have to install an NFC reader app to get your surprise. If you go to the app store and search for "NFC reader" pretty much any of them will work.

Tommy dear god show some game footage or something. The videos that have been made about Amico lately are very desperate. No offense to anyone who has made a video but just search amico videos. Nobody cares about your desktop, nobody cares about anonymous internet "bullies" So much videos speculating about what's going to be on the Amico how about what is going to be on the amico? Where are all these edutainment games?

Not gonna bring up their names but if it is gonna be delayed I don't know how many people are gonna want their money tied up. We can all act like everything is okay but the fun loving Amico community I remember months ago seems like a thing of the past. And what is there doesn't seem to be genuine. It's like fake smiling, and a lot of people using multiple accounts and I'm not just talking about haters. Can't ignore what I've seen.

I don't believe everything what people against you have said because I'm still here not banned, but I would be lying if I didn't say there was a walking on eggshells feeling around here. I've said my peace I'm gonna leave now, not interested in a back and forth argument with anyone. I've been proven wrong before and you can do it again, won't take it personally. Thank you.

TLDR; My non-lawyer understanding is that if you bought a Golden Ticket, Intellivision will enter you into the sweepstakes unless prohibited by your local country.

I wasn't involved in the creation of the sweepstakes, but from my reading of the terms and conditions the U.S. portion of it seems mostly related to the non-Golden Ticket entry methods. (The U.S. requires sweepstakes like this to have entry methods that don't require the purchase of merchandise... such as the hand-written or emailed entry method described in the T&C.) Towards the bottom of the T&C, it has the following: "For those purchasing items or entering from outside of the Sweepstakes geography as defined above, Intellivision will make an effort to adhere to local laws but if local law prohibits participation in the Sweepstakes as defined in these Official Terms and Conditions, then Intellivision reserves the right to disqualify entrant from Sweepstakes."

It's exactly like @RxScram put it:

Most smartphone come equipped with an RFID/NFC reader device, usually located on the top of the phone; although with Apple products, you'll need to install an RFID/NFC tag reader app from the AppStore. I installed NFC Tools and it works quite well.

With the app open and in Read mode, Scan the golden ticket - more precisely where the disc controller is - and in the code you'll find a URL in the following form: https://gold.intellivisionamico.com/verify.php?code=[YourCardCodeHere].

Paste this adress in a web browser and you'll get to see it - and it's wonderful!

The iPhone app "Simply NFC" (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/simply-nfc-tag-writer-reader/id1262550712c ) is about the simplest to use. Just click on the giant "Read NFC" button, hold the disc on the golden ticket close to your iPhone's camera area (the top 1/3 of the phone) and it will automatically take you to the webpage on the golden ticket directly.

(as per usual new app etiquette, I would say 'no' to any app permissions it asks for and you can uninstall it afterwards)
