Here is my top 30 games from the last gameplay trailer !

I have taken a stab at ranking my Top 30 too & I put a bit of reasoning out beside each one on why it is there.

I guarantee this ranking will change when the next game trailer is released because it has ever time so far. I have just realized that I will be purchasing every single on of these except the pack ins (which have an asterisk) and Care Bears & Sesame Street. I may still do that just to see how they play and to try them out for gifting Amico to relatives.

Care Bears - Obviously a blockbuster for families with young kids, mine are older
Sesame Street - Obviously a blockbuster for families with young kids, mine are older
Liars Dice - just not familiar with the game
Brain Duel - also not familiar, never played the Brain Age stuff, probably underrating this one
Pool - A solid looking game, good physics, but just not excited about it
Rigid Force Redux Enhanced - not into busy side scrolling shooters
Farkle* - Just have never played, looks like a Yahtzee variant so probably will end up liking it more
Spades - Just have never played, love the monster theme though
Pong - Just not a huge Pong fan, a classic but just not super excited
Biplanes - I sucked at the original, which probably clouds my judgement - I know a lot of people are excited for this one
Dynablaster - Never was into the Bomberman franchise, look good though, probably wrong on this one
Side Swipers - Looks like a great multi player game, will be a good party game & huge with kids w/ the Hot Wheels tie in
Missile Command - This one I am torn on, might love it but just not sure so middle of the pack it goes
Battle Tanks - Fragg'n other tanks & copters, looking very solid
Back Talk Party - May not play often but I really value good party games
Emoji Charades - May not play often but I really value good party games
Blank State - May not play often but I really value good party games
Snafoo - This is looking better and better, surprisingly close to top 10
Breakout - The beat synced to game play may eventually win me over on this one, but normally just not super into Breakout
Nitro Derby - I like a good casual racer so this is nearly top 10
- TOP 10 -
Finigan Fox - A good game that was almost great. I think the Amico remix is going to push it over the edge
Shark Shark!* - A simple, goofy & fun game but surprisingly tense when you play - underrated
Corn Hole* - I guarantee I will be playing this a lot. A Wii like simple motion control challenge
Astrosmash* - Looks like the perfect time killer, blast some asteroids after a long day
Evel Knievel - It is Evel Freakn' Knievel, nothing else needs to be said
Skiing* - I have fallen in love with this game. I don't know why, just look like fun, challenging & slightly goofy - perfect
Major League Baseball - It is MLB baseball! I am not even a sports guy and I am excited. Finally a causal sports franchise!
Moon Patrol – The single level on the app is really good. Liked the original, love the new version
Night Stalker - Looks so cool, love the graphic style and creepy dark atmosphere
Cloudy Mountain – My most anticipated game due for launch release. A light weight RPG not burdened down by tons of dialog & complicated mechanics is something I have been looking for

As someone who's only 3 months older than Pat, I almost feel the need to say sorry in the name of my generation. Nobody wants this, nobody is going to buy that, nobody liked that other thing 40 years ago. How can you say that, man? I used to say things like that in like, 1998? When we were both 18?

And this is coming from someone who's not particularly interested in the lights.

Ha!  No need to apologize.  They are a certain segment of hardcore Nintendo fans who deep down are afraid that Amico could become a family console and in their minds we are somehow taking something away from their favorite console and their childhood.

They see this brash east coast Italian come along and say that family gaming and co-op is lacking... and it throws them into a fit of rage.  How many times have you heard these types of folks say... NINTENDO ALREADY DOES THAT!!

They just can't comprehend that although they are the leaders in that area currently... there is room for others and something very unique and different.  I'll always go back to this...

60 million Nintendo Switches.  3 Billion people playing games.  Do the math.  Around 2% of all people that play video games are playing on a Switch.  So there's no room for anyone else?  So Nintendo controls the family market?

I would argue no.

And that's not to take anything away from Nintendo.  They are an awesome and great company and I personally like a lot of what they do and should be regarded as the true console innovators as they are willing to take chances and do things completely differently than the others (just like what we're doing!).  Whereas Microsoft, Sony & PC gaming is pretty much all the same core stuff that hasn't changed over 25 years.  Yes, they all attempt to do different things (PS Move, Kinect, etc.) but always end up getting back to the core stuff because that is where the money is for them and the audience they are catering to.  My mom will never buy a Switch, PS5 or Xbox or play anything except Solitaire on her computer.  There are 3 billion people on the planet who are exactly like my mom.  93% of all the people who play games are NOT on any of those consoles.  And we know exactly why.  The data is obvious.  And all of those reasons... we have fixed.

Atari Master here,

What is this Amico thing I keep hearing about?  Who is Tommy?  Lol.  Where's my Atari VCS?  I don't want an Amico.  Lol.  It's Atari forever and ever.  No more Intellivision, Atari rules.  Yeah!  All hail Atari.

Sorry guys, that was my dark side coming out.  Atari Master is a hater as you can tell.  He's as bad as evil Pete, lol.

Maturity is something that often times comes with age, but doesn't depend on age. Realizing that people are unique & have different tastes & needs, requires you to think outside of yourself & your little bubble of like minded friends. Clearly I fall into the loving LEDs camp, but I appreciate all blacked out PC builds too. I like Moon Patrol better than Break Out but I was just watching a video by RetroBro where he said he likes Breakout better - who right? We both are - for us. Is Amico right for everyone? Of course not. Is it not for anyone? Of course not, I am living proof because it is right for me.

Thanks for pointing out how ridiculous this absolutism stuff is.

Nailed it!!!

:D

I can't think of a sub-community I'm part of that doesn't have "that one guy", or a few far more out there on their own limb than everybody else.  I wouldn't let a hyper-advocate dissuade interest in something any more than I'd let a fixated naysayer speak for my concerns or disagreements.  Neither make "their side" look particularly stand-out, but then again neither speak for a side.  Their antics are unattractive to most viewers.

I look forward to April when the machine launches.  All of the sideshow, the relentless whatabouts and pursuit of drama; all of the "bombshell" videos that, frankly, I have a hard time discerning from manufactured flak cranked out to waste people's time, fall on deaf ears.  The only thing tangible that emerges is whether people play and enjoy the machine and its games.  That's it.  If it's at all an enjoyable experience to players, then the system will grow a normalized community who make videos and share and invariably bury the fringe with the cringe-worthy slurs and attacks.  If it turns out to not be enjoyable, then you and most everyone else will move on.

I tend to enjoy a good bit of Amico content, but then again I've resorted to filtering out a lot of what seems suspect to me, and ignore a handful of repeat offenders, until their periodic name change.  I'd rather enjoy the things I like and not be bogged down by those eager to prove the old adage, "This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things."

PREACH BROTHER!

In 3 - 4 years, Microsoft is going to purchase Intellivision for an undisclosed amount of money to make their Xbox brand more family friendly. In related news, in 4 years, Tommy purchases his own private island. ;)

We were thinking Facebook, Amazon or Disney... but sure.... Microsoft could work as well.

Facebook: No microtransactions? They're out

Amazon: They fail at games (for some reason) so they're out

Disney: They gave up on games, and they probably couldn't make a Running Man Cinematic Universe, so they're out.

Apple? Maybe... but they'd just copy everything you did and then pretend that they invented it all, so probably not them.

Microsoft... Phil Spencer has said some nice things about Intellivision. They're on a buying spree. You guys have an amazing amount of talent and great ideas. To be honest, it doesn't sound like such a far fetched idea. Intellivision Game Pass incoming!

How about an Amico game where you play as the Running Man who goes on a quest to defeat the evil Atari Master?  In the game you would travel through the different Atari game & Intellivision game worlds.  It would be exploration with turn based combat.  It could be a Zelda clone where Running Man is similar to Link & Atari Master is similar to Ganon.  Of course they wouldn't look & act the same.

They are the first people I ever saw complain about the LED lights.  And Ian not being able to make a connection between 20 years lighting experience of touring Video Games Live and the importance of lighting is hilariously dumb as it is naive.

These guys are literally coming apart at the seams with each and every video.  And the faces they make and the physical body shaking that occurs shows how incredibly biased they've become.

But I get it.  It's entertainment.  They are feeding their audience what they want to hear and the comments section reflects that.

I agree, I mean he likely got the majority of his subscribers from the Coleco fiasco and was hoping to get a second bite at the apple with the Amico. Unfortunately for them Tommy and his team and the amico are for real.  As you  mention everything on the net that is subsidized with money has become about  entertainment/clickbait. Its a sad road the internet is headed down. As for the LED lights, I for one cant wait to play in a darkened room with those lights adding to the immersion and experience, and if you dont like the lights, turn them off.  Thats the real thing that pisses me off about stupid criticism, if you can simple turn a feature off, then there is NO REASON to complain about it.  It like going to a restaurant and complaining about a entree your not going to order.  SMH.

How about Atari VCS?

“We have an exciting announcement! Turns out, building a console from the ground up is really tough! Who knew you needed to have some direction and a roadmap about what your console is really for and how it might fit in the marketplace? We were staggered to find out that just slapping a famous name on a product, constant product delays, and being really stingy in what we showed reporters and consumers didn’t protect us from valid criticism. So instead, we’ve decided to buy Intellivision! We can’t discuss financial terms, but we can say that as part of the agreement we had to literally kiss Tommy Tallarico’s ass and admit that his idea and creation of a console was better than ours.”

From Good Morning America today.

Something folks will not need to worry about when playing Amico.

We all know that hardcore gaming has unfortunately created a toxic community for some people.  Also shown in the way certain folks continue to harass us.

https://www.facebook.com/GoodMorningAmerica/videos/281646479637933/?vh=e&extid=0&d=n

Gaming online has been something I have done less and less over time because of stuff like this. Even in online forums, women and POC often do the same things like hide their identity. Twitter is another example of how bad it can get.

This week on the PU Podcast: Microsoft bails out failed Amico project for 283 million dollars; Tommy Tallarico flees country to "villa" in the south of France, no doubt to avoid possible extradition; Disney dodges bullet by being outbid in the Amico negotiations & a guy who knows about medicine says console LED lights cause CANCER! All in this edition of the PU Podcast...

Tommy... we are almost at 1000 pages !
You should keep an exclusive for us at Atari Age when we will reach this incredible achievement !

(Yes I know we already had a lot of exclusives, but it could be fun to anticipate one and celebrate 1000 pages !) 😅

Or this Thursday, because you know Thursdays need some love, it isn't Hump Day or Freedom Friday - basically just a forgotten weekday. Also don't forget Halloween is just a few days away and the 30th is Nevada day too. 🤣 (but seriously, please)

Maybe Tommy can give more exclusives on Christmas Day?  That could be his present to us.
