I have taken a stab at ranking my Top 30 too & I put a bit of reasoning out beside each one on why it is there.

Great list, I want to play too :) My top 30 list will probably look a bit strange to some people in here but keep in mind I have never played any original IE games, and secondly, my primary intention with the Amico is to play coop/vs with my family, or my children to play with their friends.

Maybe Tommy can give more exclusives on Christmas Day?  That could be his present to us.

Excellent idea - somewhere in December would be good timing for a Amico update. A little something for help celebrate Christmas, Ramadan, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Winter Solstice,  Festivus (and whatever else winter holiday I have forgotten). Just a little something to bring some cheer to the end of a rough 2020.

If I remember well, Tommy already hinted that we could have something special (probably a video) in Mid December ! 😀

Well I know he mentioned the AARP thing for December.  There's going to be an article in the magazine about him and Amico.

Yep!  Our Customer Experience folks caught that about an hour after it was posted.  They told me that they meant it to say that it was the highest score from yesterday.  :)

I fixed my original post in here so no one is confused.

Thanks.

How about Atari VCS?

“We have an exciting announcement! Turns out, building a console from the ground up is really tough! Who knew you needed to have some direction and a roadmap about what your console is really for and how it might fit in the marketplace? We were staggered to find out that just slapping a famous name on a product, constant product delays, and being really stingy in what we showed reporters and consumers didn’t protect us from valid criticism. So instead, we’ve decided to buy Intellivision! We can’t discuss financial terms, but we can say that as part of the agreement we had to literally kiss Tommy Tallarico’s ass and admit that his idea and creation of a console was better than ours.”

They can't afford us.

Physical games are great.  Best part is you can touch them.

Plus with physical media you can mention some random ass game that nobody has ever heard of and was only sold in Des Moines Iowa in 1993 and have @Papa Pete reach across his desk and pull it out to show it to you. He makes an Amazon warehouse look slow, limited and sloppy 😂

Really happy to see other people doing it ! It's not so easy to do.
And it's cool to see the tastes of others !

Tommy, it could be really fun to see your top 10, from someone who know almost everything for everygame ! 😀

Could also be surprising !

Great idea!  Here ya go.  (from top to bottom cause backwards has been screwing me up when I read your lists!)   Hahaha!

:)

These are my PERSONAL choices and doesn't reflect what I think others will like or what I think people will be more attracted to.  Just my personal favorites.

But I broke them up into 2 different categories!

Single player and playing with others.

1.  Night Stalker

2.  Moon Patrol

3.  Evel Knievel

4.  Cloudy Mountain

5.  Astrosmash

6.  Finnigan Fox

7.  Skiing

8.  Biplanes

9.  Shark! Shark!

10. Missile Command

Here is my CO-OP list...

1.  MLB Baseball
2.  Back Talk Party

3.  Night Stalker

4.  Cloudy Mountain

5.  Biplanes

6.  Cornhole

7.  Farkle

8.  SNAFOO

9.  Blank Slate

10.  Emoji Charades

11. Missile Command

12. Battle Tanks

Sorry... had to do 12 cause I couldn't cut out Battle Tanks & Missile Command!

The crazy thing about both my lists is that there isn't much difference between the top and bottom of the lists.  Meaning... there is only about a 5% more LIKE factor between the top & bottom.  Everything is super fun.

Tommy,

I asked you about save states on Amico a few months ago.  And you said yes.  But I'm curious if Amico games use auto saving (i.e. checkpoints) or do you have to manually save?

Auto.

You should keep an exclusive for us at Atari Age when we will reach this incredible achievement !

(Yes I know we already had a lot of exclusives, but it could be fun to anticipate one and celebrate 1000 pages !) 😅

I'm pretty sure I've been giving this place exclusives almost every day for the past year and half!

I can't think of a sub-community I'm part of that doesn't have "that one guy", or a few far more out there on their own limb than everybody else.  I wouldn't let a hyper-advocate dissuade interest in something any more than I'd let a fixated naysayer speak for my concerns or disagreements.  Neither make "their side" look particularly stand-out, but then again neither speak for a side.  Their antics are unattractive to most viewers.

I look forward to April when the machine launches.  All of the sideshow, the relentless whatabouts and pursuit of drama; all of the "bombshell" videos that, frankly, I have a hard time discerning from manufactured flak cranked out to waste people's time, fall on deaf ears.  The only thing tangible that emerges is whether people play and enjoy the machine and its games.  That's it.  If it's at all an enjoyable experience to players, then the system will grow a normalized community who make videos and share and invariably bury the fringe with the cringe-worthy slurs and attacks.  If it turns out to not be enjoyable, then you and most everyone else will move on.

I tend to enjoy a good bit of Amico content, but then again I've resorted to filtering out a lot of what seems suspect to me, and ignore a handful of repeat offenders, until their periodic name change.  I'd rather enjoy the things I like and not be bogged down by those eager to prove the old adage, "This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things."

Yes I agree with that none of this will matter come April, it will come down if it's good or not. If all went as planned it would be out already and all the nonsense on YouTube wouldn't exist. I will keep my eyes open in April we will see what happens.

But with digital...

maxresdefault.jpg

This is true. An example that isn't gaming would be the recent announcement that It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown will not be shown on network TV but will be on Apple TV. I've seen a lot of people upset by that. This is why I still buy physical media, particularly with music and movies. Sometimes when I travel I don't have decent internet access/cell signal to stream so I bring an external drive so I can watch what I've compiled (Blurays, etc.). I hate walled gardens.

So here is my list no kids but nieces and nephews who might enjoy the educational titles I’m mostly looking to enjoy gaming with my grandparents and friends and 1 player gaming will be a big part of it for me too I’m sure being disabled and home I’m looking forward to lots of fun anywho here is my list

30.Blank Slate mostly because I’ve never played this game in any form so my excitement is minimal.

29. Pool looks fun but I stink at pool in any form lol so excitement is limited

28.  Pong I’ve played and enjoyed different versions of Pong over the years it’s just other games are more exciting for me

27.  Breakout I love games like this but due to terrible hand eye coordination I end up with lots of frustration on these type games

26.  Liars Dice never played dice games so excitement is limited

25. Farkle again no experience with dice based games

24. Brain Duel I am looking forward to this in some ways but never tried a game like this so here it lands

23.  Missile Command I enjoy this game a lot but again lack of coordination could be an issue here

22.  Care Bears I know it’s educational but as someone who worked in a daycare in the past and has a love for the Care Bears from childhood it’s exciting

21. Sesame Street game again history with characters has me looking forward to it a lot

20. Back Talk Party the few hints that have been dropped intrigue me but not enough knowledge of it to place higher now

19.  Emoji Charades I’ve seen and played similar but don’t use emojis a ton could make for interesting fun

18. Dynoblaster looks fun I see myself accidentally blowing myself up a lot lol

17. Spades really love the look of the game and Spades I played a ton with my dad growing up

16.  Battle Tanks looks like a ton of fun but not something I will likely play a ton because my grandparents won’t be interested

15.  Cloudy Mountain I am very much looking forward to this game just others I am more excited for

14.  Nitro Derby I love racing games my dad and I played a ton of Gran Tourismo taking turns and discussing the next purchase of vehicles in game lots of great race game memories

13.  Rigid Force Redux looking forward to a lot of fast paced fun shooting even if I’ll struggle it will be fun

12.  Side Swipers Just looks like a fun jump in play for a bit and move on I miss experiences like this

11. Evel Knievel looks like so much fun to me  never could ride a bike so a little wish fulfillment for me lol

10.  Finigan Fox always enjoy platform games and adore the art style

9.  Cornhole I’ve played a lot of similar yard style games in the real world I stink at all of them which is why this isn’t a top 5 for me but it will be fun I have no doubt

8. Snafoo lots of memories playing the original with my step brother and my dad has me excited for this one

7.  Biplanes one of my favorite of the Triple Action titles looking forward to this one a lot

6.  Shark! Shark! Always had fun with this game and the new one looks fantastic

5. Baseball a sports title where my brother won’t completely destroy me has appeal the last sports game we played together was an NCAA game in order for games to stay close I would be a team with A&B grades he would choose a team with C&Ds one game I beat him by forcing a fumble on the last play of the game and returned it for a TD the next game he was an A Team and whooped me 92-10

4.  Moon Patrol it looks amazing and although I am not great at the demo this is going to be a game I replay a ton

3. Skiing we did not play this a ton on Intellivision growing up but it looks amazing and like a ton of fun

2. Nightstalker mg introduction to horror gaming and the new version looks great another replay game for me that will be so much fun

1. Astrosmash played this countless hours growing up in point contests with my dad can’t wait to play this one again

Hey Tommy,

Any chance the Amico's E-shop (or whatever it will be called) will just have an "add everything to cart" option. We're so psyched out here for this. There isn't a game I can think of that folk don't have an interest in :)

Game demos keep looking sharper and more crisp! We really want to see the Bowling next, Shuffleboard if its in the pipeline, and more card games (classic and new age) and board games.

Cheers! :)

P.S. what about casino type games...everything from Poker, Blackjack, to things like horse racing...are games like this considered to be E and E10 nowadays?
