Select titles.

Yes, I believe it depends on the kind of titles that retailers might want to stock on their shelves, in addition to a few "big" titles that are sold everywhere.

But don't quote me on that.

P.S. what about casino type games...everything from Poker, Blackjack, to things like horse racing...are games like this considered to be E and E10 nowadays?

They can be E10 depending on how they're done.

Sea Battle was mentioned briefly in january; "on the list" but "not on launch".  So a status update would be nice.  Intellivision Sea Battle might have been the first real time strategy video game.  It would be a great multiplayer Amico game; up to eight players.  The touchscreen would be really good for the battle portion of the game.

I don't know who these guys are in this video but they remind me of myself playing intellivision sea battle.  Sadly it's one of many for two players only intellivision games that doesn't get played much anymore

This is still currently the high score

Not any more 😭

Congrats to Brad, that new score (37,200) will be very hard to beat.

Love the "Pony" shirt.  Pony hightops... now that's 80's!   Loved mine... wish they still made them.   Great video... thanks for posting it!

I was going to make some crack about Sesame Street and Care Bears being among those select titles. But then I thought... that’s exactly the sort of thing grandparents would want to buy and give to their young grandkids on birthdays or Christmas. Some grandparents aren’t into giving money or figuring out how to gift a download code.

So now I totally see those as among “select titles”.

Plus with physical media you can mention some random ass game that nobody has ever heard of and was only sold in Des Moines Iowa in 1993 and have @Papa Pete reach across his desk and pull it out to show it to you. He makes an Amazon warehouse look slow, limited and sloppy 😂

Well that's my favourite comment of the day. 😂😂😂

Directly from the "Computers and the video game crash of the 80" topic in the Classic Computing section of Atari Age, heres an interesting story about shovelware in the Android and Apple stores: two guys created 1,500 randomly generated slot machines and earned money.

This instantly reminded me of Tommy's decision to only publish really good games and give each game the visibility it deserves.

While I am on Atari Age, I am also listening an interview with Tommy ...
And listen where I am right now ! You will be happy to ear that !  😮  (It's less than 30 seconds)

So we could have this great exclusive in December ! I am really looking forward to it !

I finally got to listen to all 3 hours and one of the questions I had about physical media was semi-answered here. The question was going to be: What happens when the servers go down and we are on Amico 3? How can I get use my physical media if its all RFID? "We have you covered" is all that I needed. Amazing interview. Loved all the movie goodness. When I showed my daughter the Wonka portion.. She freaked out. Especially the Inventing Room key. Plus Video Games Live starting back up where I live.. Woo hoo!!!!

Btw this is a hilarious presentation and the two guys were only doing this for the memes after their high quality, well reviewed paid apps failed. The fact that they succeeded more by creating a crap app generator to swamp the search term system while their quality games didn’t succeed says so much about the state of devs & the mobile market.

While critics are running around in circles with their hair on fire because the Amico is picking up & Amico-fying some of these mobile apps like Evel Knievel, I just realized how genius this is. Intellivision used 20/20 hindsight to license the best retro games for remake, ensuring instant classics for the system. Now they are using that 20/20 hindsight to skim the best of well regarded mobile apps that got lost in the Play Store cesspool. Well played Intellivision, well played.

And quite frankly... ONE person who you dislike is on the side of Amico?  So that turns you off to the entire community?

Well said.   Guess it depends on where your focus and perspective lies.

Unfortunately it wouldn't be the first time some is judged based on another...

We all know the Amico version will be better.  But this still looks cool.  I like the music.

I remember this remake!  I think that same guy did a Star Wars and Empire Strikes back Arcade remake. I remember them being slow like that. No matter what hardware it was on.

So here is my list no kids but nieces and nephews who might enjoy the educational titles I’m mostly looking to enjoy gaming with my grandparents and friends and 1 player gaming will be a big part of it for me too I’m sure being disabled and home I’m looking forward to lots of fun anywho here is my list

30.Blank Slate mostly because I’ve never played this game in any form so my excitement is minimal.

29. Pool looks fun but I stink at pool in any form lol so excitement is limited

28.  Pong I’ve played and enjoyed different versions of Pong over the years it’s just other games are more exciting for me

27.  Breakout I love games like this but due to terrible hand eye coordination I end up with lots of frustration on these type games

26.  Liars Dice never played dice games so excitement is limited

25. Farkle again no experience with dice based games

24. Brain Duel I am looking forward to this in some ways but never tried a game like this so here it lands

23.  Missile Command I enjoy this game a lot but again lack of coordination could be an issue here

22.  Care Bears I know it’s educational but as someone who worked in a daycare in the past and has a love for the Care Bears from childhood it’s exciting

21. Sesame Street game again history with characters has me looking forward to it a lot

20. Back Talk Party the few hints that have been dropped intrigue me but not enough knowledge of it to place higher now

19.  Emoji Charades I’ve seen and played similar but don’t use emojis a ton could make for interesting fun

18. Dynoblaster looks fun I see myself accidentally blowing myself up a lot lol

17. Spades really love the look of the game and Spades I played a ton with my dad growing up

12.  Side Swipers Just looks like a fun jump in play for a bit and move on I miss experiences like this

11. Evel Knievel looks like so much fun to me  never could ride a bike so a little wish fulfillment for me lol

10.  Finigan Fox always enjoy platform games and adore the art style

9.  Cornhole I’ve played a lot of similar yard style games in the real world I stink at all of them which is why this isn’t a top 5 for me but it will be fun I have no doubt

8. Snafoo lots of memories playing the original with my step brother and my dad has me excited for this one

7.  Biplanes one of my favorite of the Triple Action titles looking forward to this one a lot

6.  Shark! Shark! Always had fun with this game and the new one looks fantastic

5. Baseball a sports title where my brother won’t completely destroy me has appeal the last sports game we played together was an NCAA game in order for games to stay close I would be a team with A&B grades he would choose a team with C&Ds one game I beat him by forcing a fumble on the last play of the game and returned it for a TD the next game he was an A Team and whooped me 92-10

4.  Moon Patrol it looks amazing and although I am not great at the demo this is going to be a game I replay a ton

3. Skiing we did not play this a ton on Intellivision growing up but it looks amazing and like a ton of fun

2. Nightstalker mg introduction to horror gaming and the new version looks great another replay game for me that will be so much fun

1. Astrosmash played this countless hours growing up in point contests with my dad can’t wait to play this one again

So cool!  Loved the descriptions and explanations.

Thanks!

On the "to do" list.  But nothing started yet.

We'll have 7 - 10 years to eventually come out with all this stuff.

Hey Tommy,

Any chance the Amico's E-shop (or whatever it will be called) will just have an "add everything to cart" option. We're so psyched out here for this. There isn't a game I can think of that folk don't have an interest in :)

Game demos keep looking sharper and more crisp! We really want to see the Bowling next, Shuffleboard if its in the pipeline, and more card games (classic and new age) and board games.

Cheers! :)

P.S. what about casino type games...everything from Poker, Blackjack, to things like horse racing...are games like this considered to be E and E10 nowadays?

Casino games will definitely be coming.  Sooner than later.

The Amico Game Shop (final name) may have that BUY ALL option for the first month of the console.  An idea that someone floated here that we've been discussing internally.

Thanks!
