For a bacon thread... everyone seems to have lost their sense of humor.

Everyone can be a snarky smart ass... except me.

Got it!

You're doing just fine buddy ... don't sell yourself short

Saying I'm being defensive is in itself a defensive mechanism.  So best not to assume what my reasoning and feelings are for responding for certain things.  Offering a simple counter-point or additional information should not be labeled as "being defensive"... the weakest argument that someone can make when they have run out of things to counter with.  You're better than that.

We have specifically been discussing the REMOVABLE and BANNING of people from certain threads.  You implied (either on purpose or not) that folks were banned because I didn't want them there or they somehow broke "my" rules.   I've said repeatedly that it was never the case.

The quotes you pulled above were my responses to people continuing to be negative and turning off (and pissing off) other people from engaging in the thread anymore.  I was merely trying to give the negative posters a wake up call and reminder that I was tired of the negativity and suggesting that they go somewhere else if they want to be negative and get off topic with the same nonsense over and over and over again... y'know... kinda like this thread now.   :)

Declaring that I created that thread was specifically pointing out what the TOPIC of the thread was so it wouldn't continue to get derailed over and over and over again... y'know... kinda like this thread now.   :)

I was referring more to reasonable and respectful people.

So again folks want to somehow impose a different set of rules on me?  If I was an anonymous poster would you have said that same thing to me?  Are you somehow trying to CONTROL what is being said or not said or discussed or debated in YOUR thread?  Are you not accusing me of something you are implying yourself?  Not that I care or it matters... but just wanted to make the observation.

In hindsight, I shouldn't have come here at all as it's become crystal clear to many that this is a place where the banned bashers can come to get their 2nd shots at trying to tear me and the system down.  Or, for some folks to have some silly fun at our expense.

I get it now.  That's cool.

Enjoy!

I think I may have to kick you out of this thread.  You said you were going to leave them be, but you are clearly not.

First of all Tommy, I will be a customer; I'm in. I am a big fan of everything you are doing; except your reactions to naysayers here. If I responded to to bad Yelp reviews or Facebook posts like this, I would be yanked up to the Corporate offices in about 2 seconds. I know you are a cool guy, but you aren't coming off that way. I am hoping you can make a shift to use your talents to make lemonade out of their lemons or just let the negativity dissipate like a fart in the wind.

That's a disaster waiting to happen. How is anybody going to want to get out of that bed & go to work to pay the major credit card bills for that bed?

Back on topic, this weekend we were playing some of the Jackbox games on the Switch and I was thinking that something along those lines would be great couch multiplayer or co-op for the Amico. Anything along those lines in the pipeline?

Yeah. Think there was mention of it being more family friendly. I know when my family last played it some of the things went into the Teen-Mature range.

Oh, for sure. And your user experience might change drastically when playing on my couch. But then again I made Surround into a T or M game when I was a kid.

Ha! Yeah Jackbox games would be an easy fit on Amico. It can easily be played with phones and is a great example of the type of games that the controller can use. Lot of game show type games would be perfect.

Any other game types you would like to see?

I think about "casual games" from the 2D era that might fit, Lemmings, MULE, Toe Jam & Earl, Klax, etc, whether they were the actual IP or a clone. From the mobile space, I really like tower defense games in theory, but they all lack character and polish. Those could be a winner on a bigger screen with some creativity.

TJ&E is planned.

Never think about it much but Klax could be good with the disc control and maybe touch controls.

Yes, Jackbox games certainly benefit from "bring your own screen" style gameplay. I'd love to play Quiplash or Drawful with people here via Twitch sometime. Those games run on just about anything, the required specs are low. It needs a persistent network but streaming to anywhere would just require the host PC, a place to watch the stream, and a browser (phone, tablet, etc) for gameplay. Would be a great bar game. 🍺

As early as the early 1980s, people complained about the need to look down at the complex Intellivision controller. Check this out ...

I have similarly negative feelings toward Mattel's Intellivision, because of its disappointing controller and the manner in which I have to constantly keeplooking at it in order to do anything.

That's from here, which has much more: https://archive.org/details/Electronic_Games_Volume_01_Number_04_1982-06_Reese_Communications_US/page/n17/mode/2up

Fun stuff. Even with 40 years of hindsight and technological improvements, it's going to be hard to overcome those first impressions.

With the Wii U, some older people had difficulty switching between the two focal lengths -- the thing on the screen at middle/far distance, and the handheld screen at close distance.

Family fun games that require looking in both places to succeed will require good progressive lenses and highly adaptive brains, which may not be for everybody.

Do ever wonder why trolls herd/flock together , in forums ?  Is it because they give each other support and encouragement?  Has anyone else here noticed that..

Back to mobile, one my favorite is family feud , especially  playing against troll families... lol

Yeah for heavy keypad games I do better if I memorize the button placement but without the tactile feel of the buttons I’m not sure how that would work. But I suppose the games won’t require that much touchpad usage like a game like cloudy mountain does on original hardware.
