Questo è per te Tommy! Oggi è stata presentata la Ferrari F1 2021, speriamo di accorciare il distacco dai leader. Quando è una partita della Ferrari per l'Amico?

I love the Ferrari F1 team, but good Lord are modern F1 cars butt ugly looking!

But I did hear on another interview that there have been "Tens of thousands" of pre orders and only 60(ish) returns. (And 100K pre-orders from retailers) Those are some nice numbers to hear.  Would love to hear some more detail about the numbers when you can.

That is correct!  Not bad considering the worst economic down turn and unemployment in about 100 years!

To clarify... in regards to the 100K from retailers, those are PURCHASE orders (different from Pre-Orders).  That means those units have not been "sold through" to customers yet but the retailers believes in the product and wants it (therefor creates a purchase order).  But yes... is still a GREAT sign and we had to cut it off at 100,000 because we may not be able to make over 100K in our first run and it's super important not to under deliver to huge retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, GameStop, Argos, Saturn, MediaMkrt, etc.

That being said, thousands of pre-orders have been taken at retail and online from retailers already.  And again... Intellivision has yet to spend money on advertising!

Assembling and getting our 3rd batch of development kits out to more developers.

Due to all the craziness happening in China we're having to order parts separately in very small quantities and make these by hand in our offices.

With over 700 parts and over 100 components, not a quick or cheap solution... but a solution none-the-less!

If I lived in California, I would just randomly hang out outside the office hoping to be let in to take a peek.

This is great Tommy. Thanks for sharing.  I like seeing all this behind the scenes stuff.  It's like Build a Bear but it's Build an Amico.  Lol.

Tommy said last year that in the Amico game shop you get a free game on your birthday if I remember correctly.  It would be neat if the free game was a physical version.  But since physical costs more, Intellivision can't take a loss giving away games.  Especially the physical ones.  Perhaps once Amico becomes a big success, then it can happen.  Until then, having a free digital game on your birthday is good.

Hey Tommy, did you happen to come across this retrospective for the OG Intellivision? Thought it might be worth signal-boosting:

Hmm, you do realize that it is just a matter of time before Tommy is going to troll us all by handing off a real celebrity endorsement picture to Curly Q for posting 🤔😂

That wouldn't happen.  Digital is easy as there is no distribution, manufacturing or shipping costs.

Good to know.  I understand that digital is easier.  I just thought it would be neat to get a physical version free in store on your birthday.  Anyway, it was wishful thinking on my part.  Lol.

Wow!  I hadn't seen that one.  Thanks for letting us know.  Really great and well done video!  I will make sure to promote it on our social media, etc.

I loved the 5 out of 5 on aesthetics!   :)

Just thought of something: come October (or whenever Amico releases), when retailers start putting out their Amico stock, will there be a special display for the console? Or even a dedicated "section", like PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo have?

Yep!  We will have our own section in the stores!  Pretty cool right?  When was the last time you walked into GameStop and saw something different than RED (Nintendo), GREEN (Xbox) or Dark Blue (Sony).  Maybe Orange with the Dreamcast?  Looking forward to walking into retail and seeing it on the shelves.  Going to be a VERY emotional day!

Here's a super cute and fun video where a dad is showing his 5 year old daughter Amico and Finnigan Fox for the first time.

So great!

Strangely she doesn't seem upset that Finnigan Fox isn't pixel graphics.

:D

Love this. They should all be made by hand. "Amico, made by hand with love, Sony and Microsoft don't do that"

Hahahhaa!!  Not sure which one I like the best.  The footbath or Oscar the Grouch in the trashcan!  Although the @OEB_Pete logo on the box in the back is up there as well!
