Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

We've just found a lovely game on the Switch called Stardew Valley, it looks a bit like Animal Crossing and has only cost £10.99, which is more like it! Something like this would be great on Amico

Any reason you didn't answer the question CPUWIZ has asked about twice now? Folks he and I converse with are worried you are not answering him cause the shell is empty of what will become the Amico motherboard in the future. That isn't the case is it?

With all due respect, I imagine the question is very insulting to Tommy, as if, with 8 months to go, Amico hasn't got it's own working motherboard and it's just an empty shell, ala the VCS tacobox.... come on guys

It's been said that the game footage from the demo last August was done with Amico hardware.

Some of the people that got to play the Amico at E3 last June and later have talked about their experiences.

I think circuit boards have been shown in video interviews.  I remember the controller for sure and possibly the console too.  There will probably be teardowns of the final hardware this october.

Yes I've seen the controller board but I can't say I've seen the console board being touted.

Very cool.  Thanks!  We'll check it out.

I'm not a huge fan of the pixel graphic look for Amico (don't want people to get the wrong impression about what we are)... but we've worked with similar type graphical projects and had them redo the art to make it feel more modern.

I'm not against pixel art in general.  I'm just against putting out pixel art type stuff for the first round of games on Amico as I don't want folks to think it's a "retro" style console.

Folks I converse with wonder, Is it going to be too cold for ice fishing today?  Your question is just as relevant to this thread.  Why?  Because nobody here (or anywhere outside your universe, really) cares what you and your 'folks' think about the motherboard.  You WANT the motherboard to be a lie.  You need it to be a lie.  The rest of us apparently have the social judgement skills to figure out who the actual scammers and liars are, and we don't need every little part of the Amico shown to us as proof it's not vaporware.  The evidence is overwhelming to anyone not trying to avoid seeing it.

I'm sorry you don't have the social development or the people skills to know when you are being manipulated or when people are being truthful.  If making out of mom's basement is actually one of your life goals, you may want to work on that.

I would assume specific hardware tech should not be mentioned until E3 because people will psycho analyze it and make uninformed judgement on it like “how can this compete with the new Xbox/ps?”, “hey it’s not even a strong as a Switch!”, “wow I think a raspberry pie outclasses this thing?”

I am not a CEO or a console hardware release expert but the best thing for Amico right now is to wait until:

- At a minimum, a lot more videos of the games are shown

- a lot of games are played by many on ready-made hardware.  Ie: likely E3

for both of the points, so that people don’t feel the need to compare with other hardware; the existing games will define our graphic expectations not our imaginary comparisons

As well there are other reasons to not post HW specs at this time such as: Be wary of copy cats so no Specific released specs until closer to launch

The product has been shown MULTIPLE times running from our board and can clearly see the machine and board running games in the background of some of my more recent interviews and office tours.  It's been running like that for almost a year.

Watch our YouTube channel footage of the games and read the description.  It clearly says they are recorded off the actual Amico.

I put that in there on purpose for the naysayers like yourself and the "folks you converse with".

Please let me know if that isn't good enough for you, CPUWIZ and the "folks you converse with", so I can respond... "I don't care".

:D

Continuing to treat this product like the Coleco Chameleon is insulting at this point.

I was playing Shark ! Shark ! this weekend.

And I was thinking about the reimagined one.

We already know that it will be possible to play 4 players.

But I was wandering if we could also be the shark !? 🙂

Even the shark player could score points, but with different gameplay.

When you are the Shark, you are choosing on your screen's controller where on the big screen you will appear, (offcourse with the stressful music appearing 1 second before ! :) )

You have something like 10 seconds to reach the fish ( player or non-player ) before disapearing.

Then you are choosing on your controller's screen where your shark is going to disapear, and staying 5 seconds offscreen while you are choosing again where you will appear, etc.

Could be very cool to be the Shark !?  😃

And there it is folks... same negative crap and drama from the other thread from this guy.

They don't really want answers to their questions.  They are only here to cause drama and try to upset folks.

I could easily show them a pic of the motherboard... I have 3 of them on my desk I'm looking at right now (including a full working machine with the last rev of our controllers).

And as some of you already know and have mentioned... I've shown the board in video interviews going back at least 6 - 9 months (you may remember it was red and I was making reference to how we put a Running Man logo on it).  Don't even bother posting the video... they'll just find a way to tear it down and then accuse you all of "drinking the Kool-Aid".

Facts don't matter to these folks... only drama and negativity.

Also worth mentioning... the controllers have a lot more technology in them than the main board... and we've also been showing working controllers for a few months now.  How could we have working controllers without a working machine?  Oh yeah... I forgot.... magic!

That wasn't an endorsement.  Just saying if you're skeptical wait a few months until all the information you need comes out.  There's no urgency now or before it's released.

Umm no. I know this is a real product, I know it's not a "lie" as you imply. I don't need anything. I'm not being "manipulated" one way or the other. Also, Who the hell are you again? Welcome to the forum, clearly you are gonna be a long lasting and highly productive member of this forum.

Speaking of negative haters.  Here's yet another "gem" that was just sent to me just now.  It's from the mentally unstable folks who are now spending at least an hour a day creating epic content like this (I cued it up to the best parts... but it's all great!).  They've had at least 3 or 4 videos removed over the past few weeks so thanks to the folks who continue reporting the video.  At this point, the entire channel should be reported as well (I just wasted 10 seconds of my life doing it).   :)

I'm told they refer to the forums here so the next time you come across negative folks here... THIS is the type of intelligence level you're dealing with.  :)

They are literally so unintelligent that they are not self-aware enough to know how dumb they are.

But hey... who am I to judge... everyone needs a hobby!  :D

Videos like this just show how successful Amico will be.  When we're inside peoples heads this much... you know there are big things on the horizon!

Why does a persons post count matter?

I'd rather read one of his posts than 20,000 of yours.

p.s.  Have you ever had Elysian?

If that's the case, then what exactly is your problem?  I can understand having a Chameleonesque level of skepticism a year ago, but at this point, it sounds as if certain people are just looking for reasons to continue to be disagreeable.

Wow I hope these troglodytes don't breed. The complete lack of awareness outside their tiny sphere of experience is astounding

He's new to the forum, isn't off to a good start (IMO) and I pointed that out and asked about it.

Respectfully, that isn't your job.  If you feel that somebody is breaking the rules, then you should let the moderators know about it and let us handle it.  Otherwise, treat other members with respect, especially if you need to point out when you think they're mistaken; if you find that you just don't like them, you always have the option of ignoring them.

Just looked at the channel of the video Tommy posted. Wett Breiss? Some kind of stupid shot at Brett Weiss? Their channel seems to concentrate on bashing MJR and John Hancock as well as the Amico. This tells me they are very aware of the retro gaming scene and how large it is. Loser is too kind a word for these partial birth abortions

Why is the circuit board so important?  We know there's nothing bleeding edge there.  I want to see the controller and the games.  Isn't the games what are most important.

Like I said a few pages back, ETA Prime will have a tear down video up within weeks of release and I’ll watch that 😂

I’m like you mr me, I wanna see games, play the games, feel the controller...and have fun. If myself and my family have lots of fun, then the new Intellivision will replace my Wii as go to family game machine. If not, no big deal.
