Hey Tommy,

On a few interviews you've mentioned the Easter egg related to people's birthdays. You have to blow out the candle and it takes you to the Intellivision store and you pick a game kinda thing.

I'm uncertain how overt the Easter egg might be but might Intellivison offer an option to buy more birthdays? Thinking mainly of a household with 2+ kids and you've only got one birthday and the others are out of luck? Would this be decent to allow families to keep the peace with kids? Perhaps an incentive to buy more than one Amico?!?

Cheers :)

great video...geez why does Ian get so mad over this? insane

He seems pretty depressed if you ask me. Might explain a few things. I may be wrong but I've dealt with it a lot myself and I'm pretty good at spotting the signs.

I don't understand some people's skepticism about the disc on the controller. It is essentially a D-Pad with (not 4, not 8, not 16, not 32) but a total of 64 directions.

If it looked more like a D-Pad instead of a disc would it make people re-think it?

Hey Tommy Tallairico,

1st. Thank you for the nice response to my comment on atari creep's video. It meant alot to me.

Ceo's of companies don't take the time to talk to buyers of their products. When was the last time Bill Gates stopped by on a youtube  to respond about the latest gears vid?...uhh never.

That alone Mr.Tallairico you have my loyality to my last day. I grew up in a "one brand" family. My dad drove a dodge and that was the only car he would own. My dad also was the only guy who stuck with Philco tv and radios till they went out of business. I suppose im that way to.

It used to be companies begged for that kind of customer loyalty but, not so much these days. I don't know why and it boggles my mind!  Maybe im out of touch, or old fashioned, but i dont think so.

Tommy you and intellivision have my respect and my future purchases.

Why? Because i see that you are a hard working person and you and your team really care.

Now that being said, i have a couple of questions and if you could answer them i would be honored. I'll try not to sound like a idiot. (No promises!)

1st question: lets say you have a game that was on the 2600, like "G.I.Joe cobra strike" made in 1983 and you wanted to remake and release on the amico, but couldn't get the actual liscence rights for g.i.joe.

so you decide to chang the name and some characters would there be any legal trouble for you over it? Or is there a type of "public domain" for video games?

2nd.question. are you going to have independent product testors for your system. The reason i ask this is because the "big 3" xbox, sony, and nintendo have in house testers.

Now you have stated that you want intellivision to be outside the box and look at things from a different perspective. So would independent testers be on that list of "outside the box" thinking?

3rd.and final question, and the most important answer you give today. With you being a car guy, any chance of seeing a pole position, victory run or out run style game on the amico?

I have a idea on a game that would be cool for car people. You could create a 2.5 graphics driving racing R.P.G !

The main character of said game would be like Jay leno (or similar type of person) who loves cars and is trying to

collect and fill his shop with all of his dream cars. While on your journey to get them all, you also have to repair and restore the cars, while making sure your garage is big enough.

You can the character race to earn money, also take on odd jobs like be a stuntman in movies to acomplish his goals! Hope thos sounds fun to you to.

Sorry for the long post but stay safe everyone.

If you make a game that resembles the 1983 parker brothers game in graphics or sounds, you're infringing the copyright of whoever owns its rights today.  It's unlikely that an Amico game will resemble the graphics and sounds of an Atari 2600 game but if an average person sees the similiarites it's likely infringing copyright.  It could be that video and computer games made in the early to mid 1970s and earlier are public domain, if they weren't properly copyrighted.  US copyright laws changed sometime in the 1970s.

Ironically, if you had both the Keyboard Component and the Printer today, they would be worth in excess of $3500.  However, there was no way to know that back then.

You could have waited another two months from now for hyper inflation to kick in, from this whole Corona virus thing, and sold it for $100,000. Of course at that point, a gallon of milk will cost $500.

CIB Japanese Intellivision!

But holy crap look at the price.

Maybe now I know why nobody here knows about this thing. Do you have any Japanese Intellivisions/Japanese Intellivision games in your collection? I know you have a huge amount of Intellivision stuff!

The Bandai Intellivision and the 20 plus Bandai games are one of the harder versions to find but they are certainly around particularly if you don't mind spending a few dollars.

Just heard on my local radio station that apparently today is Mr. Tallarico's birthday...

Though they were talking about Tommy's cousin, Steven Tallarico... AKA Steven Tyler.  Happy Birthday.  It seems that everything these days reminds me of Intellivision.  Can't wait for the videos to drop today.

p.s.  Ignorance is bliss...

Isn't it funny how at the beginning of the video he says he can't be bothered to do any research and look stuff up... yet craps all over it without admitting he didn't do research.

His research consisted of going to Wikipedia, quickly browsing our website (and getting a ton of info wrong about the Founders Edition & VIP Edition) and watching a trailer.

He said it was sparked because so many YouTubers are "shilling" for our system.  Hmm... where do you think he got that idea from?

I do give him credit though... at the end of the video he asks to hear from people if he's getting his thoughts all wrong.

So please feel free to be respectful and educate him on everything he got incorrect.

Ugh. That was all so sad. It was like a crazy hater party where they invited us and we’re then told we crashed.

Schooling, White Knighting, for Pete’s sake, where do they come up with this stuff. I don’t really get him being bothered by a dozen optimistic people showing up to balance what appeared to be a dozen Pat and Ian “white knighters.  We were all pretty civil while the Pat and Ian white knighters were mostly pretty nasty with just smack talking, lies and little to back it up. Hope he has the nerve to interview you unlike Pat. 😉

it is up for you to enjoy. I am a rookie at this and millions of other YouTube people do it better than me, but I gave it my best shot. This video felt more like two people just chatting about games, so I liked it :).  Also if Tommy is late getting his video out it is my fault, I talked his ear off.  Also Queen is one of my favourite bands ever!

Still watching but some really good questions asked - great job Pete!

EDIT: Pete's technical background lets Tommy geek out on the hardware a bit - really interesting stuff

Tommy, I just watched the Nintendo Direct Mini.

Any thoughts on these?

Yeah. I was about to talk about it.

I think Nintendo is looking and listening everything from Amico and they want to close all doors they can !! 🤔

Looks good, except for multiplayer when you need more than one switch.

Can you even do local multiplayer with a Switch Lite? If so, unless the multiplayer host guy has bought multiple full switch controllers, everyone would need a controller from their own full switch. The guy who only bought the Lite would be SOL.

See I thought it was just basically an expanded Clubhouse games that was for the original DS. Great simple fun game with a bunch of games on it for the DS.

I think it can do anything the regular one can minus play on big screen/separate the joycons from console. So if it does touch like the air hockey one showed they are okay. If it requires separate joycons it would suck. :P

Don't break your F5 keys, it's still early on the West Coast.  Pete's got you covered for a couple hours

Quick summary of topics covered - hopefully didn't miss anything important:

What about a Pitfall game? What is the moral of the company with the challenges of C19? How is Intellivision adjusting to C19 challenges? Why Amico is retailer friendly. Amico hardware status. How did you decide on the shape of the Amico? Any surprises during hardware development? Shows some early disc prototypes. As a gamer, what game would you love to be on the Amico (no licensing limitations)? Same question with licensing limitation? Miyamoto's game design philosophy. Arcadia game console talk. Anything like baseball cards but for the Amico? What is your plan to onboard mothers? Pack in game exclusive is announced. Number of pack ins going up. Most of the rest of the pack ins will be announced soon. Description of single & multiplayer & AI opponents and unlockables in Cornhole game. Controller demo video coming soon including cameo with Tommy's wife. Will OG retro games be switchable back & forth in updated games? Will there be live tech support for the console?

Viewer Questions: Will physical media store the actual game? With C19 is it a possibility that only Founders and VIP pre-orders will be available this Fall? Will pack in games require an online connection? Will pack in games have any physical media? Tommy shows off some OG Intellivision prototype game carts. When bringing controllers over to another Amico owner, how long do the games stay there on loan? Would Tommy consider coming to Vancouver with the Amico & do a play session with Vic & local gamers? Any chance of M.U.L.E coming to the Amico?

Hey Pete,

I saw your interview with Tommy.  It was great.  I thank you for asking those 2 questions I gave you.  By the way I got the Flubber reference.  I've seen the movie and I own it as well.  Also, Tommy asked when will I change my name from Atari Master to Intellivision Master.  Funny enough I wanted to but I'm not sure how.

There was something in the interview that raised a question I had been wanting to ask Tommy for some time, but keep forgetting to.

If the controller is married to the base console, and you need the controller that came with the console to play the games, what happens if one or both devices break and have to be replaced?  If my controller breaks and I have to get a new one, do I lose the games that were on it? Or if the console gets replaced, can you transfer the game keys to the new one?
