Check's are slow in coming, but, Intellivision's busy, I don't want to bother anybody.  Still have a few boxes of ramen left..  ::painfully awkward tummy growls::

Have you ever seen anyone with such low self-awareness before?

We "consume" his mind each and every day.  He can't turn away because we are so interesting to him.

Bravi!

I loved it!  Few things I noted.  Constructive criticism of course, which just comes across as picking tons of nits because, well, you're justly going to get a ton of kudos.  So I nominated myself for nitpicker, and agreed with myself that I was a good nominee.. anyway:

Great points.  I think a lot of the criticism comes down to who the intended audience is for this video. This is obviously not for the hardcore gamer. Tommy mentioned he used language investors like, so maybe it's a general introductory video for non-gamers to let them know what this Amico thing is.

edit: and as I was writing this, Tommy responded confirming what I had suspected.

It was part of an investor/business/retail partner video.  We thought we'd do an alternate cut for our current followers to check out.  The longer one has our CFO Nick talking for a few minutes also.

Super awesome video Tommy. Seemed really professional, well done, excellent production value.

Can't wait to see more like this. If every aspect of the console is highlighted with videos like these, you're gonna' be killing it.

So weird how people react when you are excited for something they are not.  How pathetic are some individuals who have to attack and tear down someone to bring their lives meaning

I would not disagree with you.  If nothing else, it's become too big and unwieldy to maintain, so at some point we'll need to decide what to do with it.

Well, I would. First of all, this Q&A thread grows several pages every day while the taco thread has become really calm (no news is good news) - it doesn't look that hard to 'maintain' these days.

Secondly, if people don't enjoy it, they can just ignore it instead of asking to lock or destroy it (What for? Just to get revenge on the members that were banned from here?). I personally find it highly entertaining, thanks to the VCS backers who never cease to amaze me.

To be fair, folks here DO ignore it and no one is demanding it be taken down.

And you know what else we don't do?  Go over there in that thread and complain about the "messaging" or the insulting meme's or "how the thread is going to look to the general public" or to REPORT posts to mods because someone disagrees.

Cause y'know... we're not butt hurt negative morons.

It's expected that Amico Baseball will more resemble the original 1978 intellivision MLB Baseball (and it's update) gameplay.  There might be more than one baseball game on Amico.

I have to disagree.

1) they seem to be taking some time in making it, thats tells me it will much more involved. I mean seriously if you just wanted to copy the 1978 baseball and add some updated graphics and perhaps a few gameplay improvements, you could do that in like 2 to 3 weeks.

2) I dont think Tommy and Amico would go through the trouble of licensing MLB if your just going to release a reskinned 1978 barebones Baseball game

3) Im hoping here but I think the jump in baseball will likely be like the jump see saw in Skiing.

we will see soon.

Maybe you should take your own advise, seem like you have been doing a lot of complaining in this thread and Lot's of defending of people that can't follow forum rules and got banned.  Deflection as usual with the same few with the same type of post in this thread and it's not really the entertainment that most people here enjoy.. A Taco Thread , or a Bacon Thread the same people with the same joy of negative undertones...

Agreed, with that said wanted to apologize for the bickering we went through.  I could have handled myself better.  We both have a passion for this new console and will have differences of opinion but ultimately want the same thing.

First of all, I'll simply say that there's more that goes into maintaining the forums than most users realize.  Second, I am not the one who is out to "get revenge" on anybody; you're confusing me with certain other people who still can't get past their petty grudges.  Now, let's not allow this thread to be sidelined any further.

I like it. I kinda laughed watching it because I tried to imagine any other game company CEO trying to do this.  They would be in a suit behind a desk trying to act like a gamer and regular joe and of course they would come across as a poser.  Youre the real deal, and it shows.  Also during this crazy time, you still being open and involved and accessible I think will payoff big time.

One thing this virus is doing is basically taking the polish and bullshit off of everything and we are now seeing everyone, whether it health experts, movie stars, politicians etc  all zooming from their homes without good lighting, makeup, hair, etc etc and its kinda showing the world, you know we are all just regular people.  So for those that are comfortable being who they are, they will likely come out of this in much better shape then those who have to hide behind a suit, job title, and high productions.

Keep up the good work. Being accessible and real I think really will pay off in the end.

Just did a quick web search for John Alvarado (I wanted to see what all the commotion was about) and this is what I found:

How does he feel that his entire presence online is now dominated by this forum?

For my $0.02, I believe IE really needs to touch more on their video industry retro-purchasing concepts going forward, meaning you spend real money up front to really own a game outright - Simple.

The app that really, for all intents and purposes, ended my gaming on mobile was Real Racing 3.  Sometime after I “purchased” it (you know, paid real money to “own’ the game), EA introduced delay-to-play-unless-you-pay(i.e., a timer that needed to run before you could go onto the next race).  I was TOTALLY into that game, but even before they “upgraded” it with the timer, I came to find that the time required to get to the next unlock became exponential (which in turn was only made even worse by the timer).  Here was a game I paid for where the developer inserted road blocks to prevent me playing it!; unless of course I “wanted” to opt to pay additional money to mitigate the timer.  In all honesty, if EA would have just put the game up in the App store for $40 bucks with a week free trial, I would have been happier, EA would have gotten more of my money, and I’d probably be still playing RR3 today; but instead, I dropped the game out of frustration (and principal) and pretty much mobile gaming along with it.

THIS is ONE of the reasons I am so looking forward to Amico coming out; and who knows, maybe even the elitists will benefit if the other corporations start getting flack cause they are not doing things like IE.

WOULDN'T THAT BE SOMETHING™

Who knows, maybe if i would have stuck hard with gaming (and the crap that ended up coming with it), I too may have become be a rage hating SOB that couldn't find happiness outside of crapping on others for no other reasons except for lack of personal growth, maturity and respect for others.

The word "disrupter" gives investors big chubbies.

That explains A LOT!  People with cash to burn really fall for smiles and jargon.

I just got a huge laugh-the radio is on in the background, KOOL 105.1 plays 70s to 80s hits.  They have a station promo spot where the deep voiced announcer, tongue-in-cheek, says 'KOOL 105, disrupting the radio industry since 1982'...   It just came on while I was typing this.

It's everywhere!

I have posted in that thread from time to time but stopped once I realized the negativity was like a hivemind. A bunch of people sitting around mocking something that's failing and making fun of backers. These are ultimately people who are only coming together to post about a failing Atari product and post taco images while laughing at the expense of backers.

That's great and all for a bit. I laughed a few times at some posts. But that was when it got old. I can't imagine coming back and doing it for weeks or months.

There's a 'dictionary of corporate bullshit." Basically overused meeting room buzzwords and phrases that don't mean much, but sound "professional".

In the rankings, I seem to remember 'Disruption' being a bit behind 'Nebulous', 'Synergy' and 'Bleeding Edge', but ahead of 'Proactive', 'Cultivated Identity' and "It is what it is". 😱

Too funny.  Ms. K works in management at a Credit Union, it's not a big place but she hears most of it in meetings weekly.  She's working from home, I overhear some meetings on speakerphone and it's really funny, honestly.  She just rolls her eyes.  It makes me think of an old Monty Python, where they are WWII pilots who talk so much jargon they can't understand each other.

'It is what it is' however...can't tell you how many times I've said or thought that, as I was wiping grease off my hands, and staring at some unsatisfactorily completed mechanical project.

You forgot one, “opportunity”; its the buzzword spoke when everyone else feels like shit hit the fan.

I got to say though if anyone deserves to use the word "disruption" it is Intellivision & the Amico. Your typical gamer thinks they are trying for disruption in the console market, and that is where they got it wrong. P&I precious Nintendo is 95%+ safe and Sony & M$ even more so. I think the shift will be in causal gamers; finally having a choice besides mobile & board games, and I think young families are going to choose Amico over kids tablets, educational software and other categories in the toy market (and maybe even the video market - an Amico game may well be below the purchase price of "Trolls 47 the Elder Years" or whatever).
