Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Tommy, talking about achievements.

I fully agree with the idea of valuing the exploits of several players by widening the time and space categories.

For this reason, I wonder to what extent it will be possible to reduce time and space.

By having trophies (certificates) for say the 3 best players of the week in the state of California,

I think it would still be difficult to obtain a prize for the majority of players, especially when Amico becomes very popular.

1) So I wonder if it would be possible to push as far as to have daily trophies, and even by city ?

2) Besides, I wonder if the number of participants will be written on these certificates?

"Here is your 2nd place certificate for the Astrosmash game thanks to your 94,000 pts obtained for the day of October 10, 2020 among 2500 participants. Congratulations !"

Thank you.

Have you ever seen anyone with such low self-awareness before?

We "consume" his mind each and every day.  He can't turn away because we are so interesting to him.

:D

Well, I drew a picture of a building once, that must make me an Architect. No, wait, I typed some numbers into a spreadsheet, that must allow me to call myself an Economist (or whatever the hell Cmart says he is ;-) .) Despite the internet's attempt to make "Citizen Journalism" a thing, I'm not letting a "citizen plumber" anywhere near my furnace. In fact, I'll ignore him.

Calling myself or someone else something one doesn't make it true. Where I come from people get degrees or other fine pieces of paper before they can call themselves something and have it mean anything. ;-)

Exactly!  I told you guys.

We know how to hire!  Only the most talented AND passionate folks!!

So glad to finally see all the shills like Cara you have conned into your failed vanity and crowd funded fiasco.

What I meant was, I'm so glad to start hearing the words and seeing the faces of all the other experienced industry veterans that have gathered to make the Amico a reality. Drown out the niche focused fringe group of haters with the voices of people that have actually participated in the creation of video games.

You forgot one, “opportunity”; its the buzzword spoke when everyone else feels like shit hit the fan.

When you hear that, it's time to "lean in"!

Having a live stream is really the only option... but if I can get a big celebrity that could help.  Of course if money was no object I'd get something like Aerosmith or a Video Games Live show happening throughout the announcements/stream... that would be pretty epic!

:)

But trying not to spend that kind of money at this point... especially when we don't know how many units we'll be able to produce this year.

Anyway... please throw out some ideas and try to keep the "budget" in check.

Lots of Idea that I should need to write on paper, and try to translate in English. 🤔

But let just say this...

There must be an animator who welcomes us, as if we were live. Obviously that depending on a quarantine or not, certain things will be more or less possible.

There will be several segments that will be summarized at the start of the presentation to capture public interest.

One of the segments will be to join key people for this project, including Cara Acker, who will explain what attracts her to Intellivision and the new Amico console.

As in the April 2020 promo, she is interviewed, but while she talks about what she is looking for for her 3 children,

we see a video showing her with her family playing a game on Amico and having fun while we continue listening to his interview.

Back to the animator, who tells us that we are now heading to Germany to speak to the President of the European branch Hans Ippisch.

He welcomes us (also as if he were live), take a few seconds to introduce himself, and he announces that we will have a scoop,

because he is going to one of the German developer's offices to show us a secret game they are currently working on.

We follow him with a cameraman, and they open the door where he will show us the team working on the game with the code name "Freund".

But while opening the door, Hans is in shock because the developers are not working !

They are playing Skiing (We are seeing the ski-cross mode for the first time). Hard to work when you have Amico and other people with you ! lol 😆

Anyway, etc. etc. etc. 😀

Yeah... we're definitely needing to change our announcement plans.  Still talking about it.

Big meeting later today about it.  If anyone has any ideas... now's the time to let me know!

I remember this commercial I mean who doesn't remember it? And I think it 100% applies today with the gaming industry. You need something like this that makes an impact pun intended. The people all in a row like a bunch of zombies reminds of everyone playing online.

I have I other idea I was thinking about all day at work yesterday I'll add it in a bit.

We don't want them to be that easy to get as it would cheapen them all as a whole we believe.

If you get the highest score for a week in your state... that's still pretty darn cool and something to feel proud of.

Hopefully this is in place when the founders editions arrive. That will likely be the only time I have a shot at getting one of these.

As for the budget end of things thats not my wheelhouse. A commercial is expensive but through a large podcast or multiple pod casts it could reach alot of people. Or a ad on YouTube again I dont know about these things.

2nd idea I thought of is about 1 guy working in his basement on a time machine a machinemade from old intellivision parts. Sole purpose to travel back in time to stop a impending disaster on humanity.  The disaster is the lack social interaction. He wants to travel back to warn everyone in the early 1980s of what will happen to people through videogames. When he gets back his friends open the door and ask when he will be up. The game is about to start when he comes up the stairs a flash of colors shoots down the stairs colors from the hint hint Amico as he reaches the top hes greeted by his friends and family all ready to play on the intellivision. And the last scene is a tear coming from the man.

Just did a quick web search for John Alvarado (I wanted to see what all the commotion was about) and this is what I found:

How does he feel that his entire presence online is now dominated by this forum?

He doesn't show up at all on DuckDuckGo. At least not the one at Intellivision. Lots of other dudes with the same name, though.

Last one I swear lol same idea about the time machine but this one would be epic but expensive.  Get the cast of Back to the future. But have Marty  mcfly go back to the 80s and when he gets back runs up to his parents house to find the whole gang including biff all playing the Amico.  And have Biff bragging about his high score

I've seen the Taco Tread mentioned multiple times. What is this Taco Thread? Does it still exist?

This is what they're referring to; it's a (very) long-running thread about the company currently masquerading as Atari and their "Atari VCS" crowdfunding project, which has been a slow-motion train wreck for years; posting pictures of tacos became a bit of a running joke over there.  However, I'd recommend that you skip it: there are occasionally bits of news, but in my opinion that thread has mostly become a giant pile of garbage.

Thanks.
