The argument is even easier than that!   The Limited Edition consoles are $279.  This is because they are limited, but mostly because we need to do a more expensive method to manufacturer them.  Different tooling, molds, expensive paint, extra manufacturing processing, etc.

So... if they are selling for $279 and you are getting it at GameStop for $299 plus a $25 card... then the price of the console is:  $274!  $5 less than normal.

It's amazing that the new Amico will cost less than the original considering it's 40 years later and the technology of the system is light years ahead. Plus the top tier games will cost a third of what they cost then. Oh, and don't forget, you get 6 pack-in games vs 1 (maybe 7). What's not to like?

You'll notice that the banner below has the Intellivision & Amico logos on it (which none of the others do).  Everything else was placeholder... now the new versions are being uploaded on GameStop today.

We played so much wiffle ball growing up that I once contacted the company directly to see if I could purchase from them wholesale.  We would go through the wiffle balls pretty quickly...when the plastic connected to the holes would crack.  We called that "smiling."  This one is smiling, time for a new ball...

I had Summer Games on the Colecovision and the palms of our hands would blister and bleed.  That's how we would move the thick knobby Coleco joystick back and forth the quickest, against the palm of our hand.  Fun game, but painful.  We'd try gloves and all kinds of things to help...

This is a great option to have to gauge customer interest now and possible future games.

No.  Still waiting for all the molds... and then our mechanical engineering team needs to sign off on all the molds.  They tell us they should be in within the next 2 weeks.

Just another COVID delay that folks need to understand.

In regards to our Canadian friends and EB Games...

Although owned by GameStop, they are two separate entities. Currently EB Games isn't carrying Amico... but that will change.

Other retailers in Canada may get the Galaxy Purple as an exclusive.

haha same here..how about when the store was sold out of wiffle balls but they had those wiffle balls without the holes? the kind that would dent real easy?

Exactly, we used to stock up pretty well to avoid anything like that...even had a couple black wiffle ball bats, official wiffle ball bats, instead of the yellow.  They sold black one at some point, but very limited...

Nice.  One day, my friend wanted to have a one day home run record...we went through so many official wiffle balls, we went to the kind with no holes, then even stooped to using plastic practice gold balls at the end of the day.  My buddy hit like 80 something homers that one day....not too many with the plastic golf balls.  Good times.  Then we may have gone for some personal records on Intellivision Burgertime that night...
