Here's an idea for an Amico game.  How about a game where you play as Santa Claus and you must fight off against aliens?

You have to stop the aliens from destroying the North Pole and the ultimate goal is to save Christmas.

Ummm, I would seriously buy that.  I'd love to see holiday themed games!

I would probably play if it was the Santa from futurama.  Now that would be a game. But it would likely be m rated lol

Ok finally got around to registering my golden ticket and saw the new cloudy mountain preview.  Holy moly I've got to have that game. Looks to be 3 player which is totally rad, thats right I said Rad. We are a family of 3 and all play games nearly every night together.  This is going to be a nice game to play together.

Tommy, will merchandise purchases between now and July 15 give you more entries or have the golden tickets ended for merchandise purchases?

I had been holding out to see what new designs might be coming but am now kicking myself for not just going ahead and ordering more (I got the Amico shirt when it was first added to the store - one of my most comfortable shirts, btw).

I have Android 10 on my smartphone and I downloaded an NFC app but it says my phone doesn't have NFC. So, I can't scan the ticket.  Oh well.  😥

Mine has "nearby device scanning" and though that was the same thing but perhaps  it isn't

Good interview Tommy.  👍

If you are an Earthworm Jim fan, you need to give this one a listen. Lots of little tidbits of info scattered throughout, for me the most exciting bit was was the two words: "controllable cow"

Wow, Cloudy Mountain is really coming together. Love the three player max decision. It indeed would be too crowded with four (Gauntlet had this problem too, especially with those damn teleporter dungeons). Add the stylized graphics and sound effects and it really does deliver on the 'retro re-imagined' concept.

Ok, I need to say something that has been bothering me. *Disclaimer* Please understand that I'm a founder, and I have been ALL IN on this system from the start. Even if all of the things I'm about to say are ignored or hated, I'm still going to enjoy and promote the hell out of the Amico to anyone who will listen. Maybe that's why I feel like I should chime in, because I am rooting so hard for its success.

It's the animated Amico logo. The colors are great, and the fonts and movement of the letters are cute and family friendly as intended. But there is just a lot going on. I think it lasts about twice as long as it should for a start up logo (think original PSX or 'SEEeeeegaaa' and how memorable and quick they were). The varied sound effects, specifically the 'boing boing' noises toward the end smack heavily of some 90's kids show where everyone is getting unnecessarily messy or an obnoxious commercial for super sour fruit roll ups or some shit where everything is EXTREME and the camera goes in and out and the adults are squares but not us we are cool and cross our arms with neon sunglasses cause the adults couldn't possibly handle how sour these treats are and ITS TOTALLY EXTREEEEEEME!!!!  The little kid saying Amico! at the end also seems out of place (sorry, Tommy, I think you may have mentioned that it was your nephew or something). It kind of gives a 'kiddie' vibe instead of appealing to a broader family dynamic as intended.

I may be way off base and in a small minority. Perhaps others agree with some of it. Tommy, feel free to tell me how focus testing totally says the opposite and I'm just being curmudgeon-y and need to get over it. I can do that :)

Best person to ask is [email protected]

Hey,

I emailed KevinS and he responded that entry to the sweepstakes ended 30 days ago, so my purchase of merchandise last week was too late.  No worries, maybe those of us who purchased items later on can be included in another drawing down the road.  Anyways, really enjoyed the Cloudy Mountain video, can't wait to play it.  Thanks for all the updates!

That sounds like a great Christmas special, too.

I don't believe the Founder's Edition included a golden ticket. I think they were exclusive to the merchandise stores.

oH Ok, I was under the impression they sent out a media email with that Cloudy Mountain video etc.  No biggie.

The email states "if you're receiving this email it means you're an Intellivision Merchandise Golden Ticket holder and may be a prize winner"

So it's only for those who've bought merchandise.

Again... just more misinformation by a couple of folks who refuse to talk to me (on or off air... I don't care), refuse to come and see and play all the working machines or... to even do the slightest bit of research by going to our YouTube channel and seeing

At this point I feel they are so deep into their stance against the Amico that they can’t change it without losing face to their devotees.  That is why they will never accept your offer of an interview (public or private) or come into IE offices to do a hands on no matter how sincere you appeal to them.

Correct, the pre-orders (FE and VIP) are Golden Ticket gift cards to be used in the online store for games or merch.

I think the public release of the video is tomorrow, today was a sneak peak for merch purchasers.

Since getting on the Amico bandwagon, I’m more aware of what other companies are up to and their intended strategies.

I just ran across this story about Apple Arcade. I’m a big Apple fan but Apple Arcade has never really tempted me.

https://www.pocketgamer.com/articles/083431/apple-arcade-cancels-some-upcoming-games-and-hunts-for-projects-with-higher-player-retention/

As I read it, I felt for the developers... must suck to have a project pulled.

A question for Tommy if you can answer... have you had to set a developer free for any reason during this process of launching the Amico?

Freakin' embarrassing on Apple's part. They were starting to have a pretty good thing going on here!
