Hey Tommy,

Did you ever address if you would allow games like Metal Slug or Street Fighter on the system? I'm not much of a fighter fan, but there are a lot of people that do like them.  I doubt things like Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct games could make it on Amico. But Super Street Fighter or a brawler like King of the Monsters may fit your guidelines. Just wondering.

I don't see Street Fighter being a good fit for us.  Metal Slug potentially maybe... down the road though.

Hi Tommy,

A question about games involving controller motion.

I'm curious about how games like cornhole and shuffleboard will play, specifically the feeling of ‘weight’. In PSVR, there are a lot of games where everything seems weightless, and disproportional strength. Gorn and drunkn bar fight are good examples of this. Where as games like everybodys golf vr feels fantastic. Have the developers honed in on this?

PSVR is fantastic, but a very singular experience most of the time.

Calcio Storico Florentino would be a fantastic game 😏 it would never be released on amico, perhaps a intellivision entertainment release on psvr 2?

Hi!

So far Cornhole feels great.  I would say the weight of the controller is nearly as heavy as a smaller Cornhole bag... so it hasn't really been an issue so far.

I haven't played Calcio Storico Florentino... will need to check it out.

Thanks!

So....  Atari just showed up their new version of Missile Command, optimized for the VCS.  I'm not sure I get what they're going for here.

Intellivision's take on the game seems to be 100x better, and actually looks like something you'd want to play.

I played it on iOS and 5 minutes was enough and this is their only game announced so far ? I don’t count Atari vault. Not impressive in the least. With what u have seen so far, I can’t remember the bee being so disappointed or less excited about a console launch.

I do like the cover artwork. I'll commend them on that.

I played the phone version, it's okay but a little different than 1980 missile command.  It doesn't have attack waves so missiles continuously come with increasing frequency until you can't handle them.  The big difference is each of your missile bases can only fire one missile at a time, so that means a maximum of only three missiles at a time.  That really makes it hard when there's lots of missiles coming down.  I'm guessing the console version is still a one player game and the biggest problem is it will be a joystick game.  I'd rather play 1980 missile command.

Can we please have Burgertime? Even if it is just the legacy version? PLEEEEEEEEASSSSSSEEEEEEEEE?

There will be a burgertime remake that should be ready this year.  The question is if an emulated 1983 intellivision burgertime will be made available as well.

Today I was reminded why I'm tired of AAA games. I put CoD Infinity Warfare disc inside PS4. Immediately it started downloading an update of 20gb which would have taken 14 hours. I cancelled the download and started playing. Then the installation started which seemed to last forever, so I went to eat a snack and came back 15 minutes later. Well what about the game itself? Looks and sounds amazing, but it felt like I was on the rails and trying to keep up with AI team. So much is happening around me that after an hour I was tired and bored at the same time. I don't know if I will continue anymore .. I wanted to go and play Commodore 64 games with kids.

I'm ready for Amico, we need it ASAP. 😄

Whatever the release date is, doesn't matter. I've been waiting for two years, couple of months more is nothing. 😲

Yeah this is kind of underwhelming, not so much in the game for me, but that is so late and so lonely (and agreed the $5 Atari collection doesn't count). However I am happy they have a game being announced and rumors are swirling they may have an actual launch date - *finally*. I grumble a lot about Atari's anti consumer approach (basically: shut up & wait - oh and instead of an update, what is your favorite Atari game character of all time?) but my heart is always with the backers on this one. I really want them to get a machine and hopefully one that they want (that is - it isn't an immediate 'wipe & install Windows/Linux/Kodi' box).

Missle Command Recharged is also avaible on steam I have it and i like it. But wanted to get it on my switch also but Atari only sells it on the north american shop but not in europe... Also think the amico version already looks better...

Tempest will it be a remake of Tempest 2000 and or 3000or something new? And is Jeff Minter and Llamasoft also involved? in making games for the amico and do they work on the amico Tempest version? Love their steam released games and Attack of the mutant camels was one of my first C64 games...

When I think on the amico name I always remember the Commodore Amiga its from the name amico amiga.... And then I think about Turrican but as far as I know this is a very difficult license to get. A few weeks ago there was a podcast in germany (in german) with the Factor 5 guys (they work now for Epic Games and I don`t know if they want to work again on 2D games) on Turrican 1. They made such awesome 2D Games on the c64, amiga, mega drive (genesis) and SNES... and they maybe have the license cause they released Super Turrican on the Wii Virtual Console (also Super Turrican 2) and also on other consoles... You can only hear the podcast when you know the german language: http://www.spieleveteranen.de/archives/2836

And do you know this great developer of amiga games thats now making mobile games and pc games: http://emv-software.weebly.com/

So basically I can play it on my phone and save nearly $400. Your drunk atari go home.

yeah me either.  I did a take on Missile Command a little while back, I themed it all with a Pirate Genre.  Basically the secret Pirate port of Bumboo Bay is being threatened when a nearby islands volcano erupts.  As a Pirate ship in port you are required to blast the flying flaming volcanic rocks out of the sky before they set fire to and ultimately destroy your secret port and/or your ship.

Here is a video still up that I made of one of the later levels when things are really going nuts.

Cheers for the reply Tommy!

I wasnt referring to the weight of the controller, but the game physics itself. In drunkn bar fight, you can pick up items in game, such as a walking frame, or a strat 🎸, and use them as weapons. But they feel unnaturally light, and a light swing with the motion controller sends your enemy flying like they were hit by a truck.

sports bar vr has shuffleboard, looks beautiful, but is near unplayable. So i guess the question is: does it feel natural to play?

calcio storico, intellimission nailed it!

check this out Tommy, awesome sport!
