They can be E10 depending on how they're done.

In no great surprise, yet another YouTuber has had to draw the line on the threats & attacks from the tiny but relentless anti Amico & Pat Patsy crowd

I was going to make some crack about Sesame Street and Care Bears being among those select titles. But then I thought... that’s exactly the sort of thing grandparents would want to buy and give to their young grandkids on birthdays or Christmas. Some grandparents aren’t into giving money or figuring out how to gift a download code.

So now I totally see those as among “select titles”.

Wouldn't That Be Something?

Gotta make sure we represent all 5 of our categories.  Especially young kids!

Imagine parents & grandparents seeing brands like Sesame Street & Care Bears.

:)

Cyrus is so great.  He really put those types of ding dongs in their place.

Directly from the "Computers and the video game crash of the 80" topic in the Classic Computing section of Atari Age, heres an interesting story about shovelware in the Android and Apple stores: two guys created 1,500 randomly generated slot machines and earned money.

This instantly reminded me of Tommy's decision to only publish really good games and give each game the visibility it deserves.

BINGO!!

The latest report from 2019 says there were approximately 2 million video games that came out last year across iOS & Android.

That's 40,000 new video games a WEEK!!

Yikes!!!!!!!!

Btw this is a hilarious presentation and the two guys were only doing this for the memes after their high quality, well reviewed paid apps failed. The fact that they succeeded more by creating a crap app generator to swamp the search term system while their quality games didn’t succeed says so much about the state of devs & the mobile market.

While critics are running around in circles with their hair on fire because the Amico is picking up & Amico-fying some of these mobile apps like Evel Knievel, I just realized how genius this is. Intellivision used 20/20 hindsight to license the best retro games for remake, ensuring instant classics for the system. Now they are using that 20/20 hindsight to skim the best of well regarded mobile apps that got lost in the Play Store cesspool. Well played Intellivision, well played.

BINGO!!!

🥰

Cool.  Looks kinda slow.

Demon Attack is definitely the next Imagic game we'll be doing after Microsurgeon.

This game is a somewhat rare case where I felt the Atari 2600 version was better than the Intellivision version, at least in terms of looks.

At the time, I was really impressed with what Imagic was doing with the 2600. Their games looked better than what other companies were managing to squeeze out of the hardware at the time. Perhaps it was because they were restricted by what the console could do that their games typically had more a sparse yet sharp look look that gave it a different, cleaner feel... at least to me.

Yet another title I’ll be curious to see on the Amico, as well as other Imagic games.

Hmm, so are you saying that when people see the logos on the top half of this graphic on the Amico box, being promoted by the stores & organizations on the bottom half, they might think this could be a good gaming system for their family?

Nah!, can't happen 😜

Microsurgeon... will it be marketed with more of a focus as an educational title?

Obviously it will be designed so everyone, including us retro folks, will enjoy it.

But as you’ve talked about the different categories of games you’ll have, Microsurgeon certainly falls into retro-reimagined, but I could see this getting an education focus in its marketing, too. Sure, it can be marketed in multiple ways... just wondered what category you primarily saw it placed in.

The Amico Game Shop (final name) may have that BUY ALL option for the first month of the console.  An idea that someone floated here that we've been discussing internally.

Thanks!

I just realized Tommy has managed to create hype for the reimagined version of... Pong.

Now that's a pretty cool achievement in itself. Good job.

Why thank you.  Yes... big achievement right?

:)

Although that new mini is super cool as well.  Anyone see a price yet??

I think they were going to have a live stream or something?

Speaking of live streams... still working on my live stream set-up in hopes of showing off the UI live.  Probably beginning of next week.

Nah....

And didn't you know... they're not even partners and it's not even a big deal.  They just sell their licenses to anyone.

And y'know... the Nintendo Switch is the ONLY family system... so I'm sure they have Sesame Street games already.

Right?

Lets see what shows up when we do a search for Nintendo Switch & Sesame Street on... hmm... let's say Target.

Well that's strange.  I wonder what folks on Reddit are saying??

🤣🤣🤣

I think some games, such as sports titles, can fall into multiple categories (sports and retro-reimagined): skiing,  baseball, etc.
