I was thinking Elmer Fudd... but didn't want to say that because that would be mean, unprofessional and completely uncalled for.

Whoopsie.

It's just another video that offers nothing to anyone but again... Negative WAVES...

How does someone opinionate so definitively that something will fail when you haven't had ANY access to it, have only others opinions to base your attempted facts on, haven't bothered to define why it will fail other than matching others non-factual incorrect information.

Sounds like he's trawling for free early access... again.. I should quit my day job and do videos for free stuff.  If I don't like it, I'll bash it to death until I get it free then I'll love it.  Great plan

Jeeze... "Why this will fail"... Wtf..

...You're going to get somebody saying you're thin-skinned or surrounding yourself with yes-men or fanboys to defend themselves.  Some amount of personal slings from anonymous user accounts here.  Everything has its detractors.  And there's been good, constructive criticism and questions here too - so those reading this, don't think my fanboy senses are kicking in.  Debate is good.  Differences of opinion fair, not buying into something - as natural as being excited about something you cannot purchase or see yet.  You think Intellivision fanboys are bad?  The entire sports fan world and talk radio industry builds itself around discussing match-ups and hypotheticals and future draft picks and journalists' power rankings - all irrelevant to watching the game they love, all highly speculative and highly entertaining, gratifying for the fan.  This is no different, we're just a different shade of fan with a different style of trash-talk sometimes. 😁

I don't know if the advice is worth anything, but I don't see a benefit to respond to the folks already given an answer to, or have identified that they're not really all that constructive or interested in fact-finding.  Some people just construct a different narrative and that's their baby.  But the co-op aspect of a forum, I wouldn't respond personally, especially as others here are more than happy to respond.  Some of us verbosely.

The sports analogy is good.  You've got loyal-no-matter-what fans that think their players are better than they actually are and every move the team makes is gold.  You've got fans that have an unnatural hate for the team and some even spread lies out of jealousy.  You've got some ignorant media who often unknowingly spread misinformation because they have to say something to keep their jobs.  And you've got honest fans that want to learn and exchange information and ideas; you have to filter out all the noise.  I don't know if a GM of a sports team has ever engaged with the fans like this.

And a common thing across social media is that the conversation is dominated by a tiny fraction of the community.  It's not necessarily representative of reality or truth.

That's right!

And I'm entirely serious about what I said. Virtual online friends or not, Tommy allowed us in and offered his friendship up.

I've just had to clean up another batch of posts which were in danger of dragging this thread back into areas that have already been discussed ad nauseum.  If you're tempted to chime in yet again about the Founder's Edition preorder, or about Tommy's style and mode of communication, remember: everybody here is perfectly capable of making their own decisions and dealing with the consequences.  If you don't like the idea of the Founder's Edition preorder, you don't have to buy the preorder.  If you don't like the way Tommy chooses to answer questions or address critics in this thread, you don't have to read the thread.  If anyone feels that any rules are being broken, certainly continue to let us know; otherwise, please don't presume that it is your job to moderate the forums or to protect other peoples' money or feelings.

Haytham Gruxton has now seen the light in the Pat & Ian affair: he no longer believes that Tommy harassed them.

He still has doubts about the Amico selling millions of consoles thanks to the casual/non gamers, though, and I can't blame him... I myself won't believe it until I see it! 🍺

Yes.  I saw that as well.  He even pinned the comment and said he is making a follow up video today.

Here is the comment....

It is clear to me now that Tommy did not attack Pat and Ian. My opinion on this console has shifted a bit and I'll be making a better Amico video later today. I want to thank Tommy for reaching out, I always hope to have the right information but some mistakes were made in the execution of this video.

This right here is exactly why I interact with folks.  Some folks may feel that I should "ignore" this type of stuff... but instead... I approached him in a kind way on his channel (just like I did with Pat & Ian initially) and I gave him more information... including my unlisted Pat & Ian response video.

The internet is a scary place.  Folks can say anything they want and thousands of potential customers can be completely turned off because of misinformation and literally start to HATE me and the machine because of it.  If these types of dumpster fires aren't put out or addressed... it starts to spread and spread and spread.

Look at how the JT Smash situation turned out.  He hated the machine.  Then he talked to me and he now LOVES it.  And he isn't the only one.  There have been DOZENS of people who I done the same thing with.  And I know if Pat & Ian would talk to me... I could get them to understand as well (especially why we shouldn't just put this stuff on mobile or the Switch).

The system testing shows that it can handle up to 10 controllers... but it gets a little sketchy sometimes so we say 8 as it is safe there.

Will there be bundles of extra controllers available as well?

My avatar pic was changed to R-Type. Just useless info you'd like to know. But I saw that Granzella is making a new R-Type Final 2 for the SteamXSwitchStations & came across this...

Looks like they may be doing a mash up of R-Type and Moon Patrol for certain stages. Yous Guys should put that on a back burner for any sequels you may do in the future. 😍

An alternative way of looking at it is some people have the integrity of their own opinions. While this doesn't violate Jaybird's latest ruling, and it's more than valid, I expect you'll see that it's deleted Tommy. So like Pat and Ian's offerings, what did you promise the other guy to change his opinion so radically?

JBerel: that last sentence can really be taken in multiple ways but mostly as a bribe attempt???

Excuse me, but nobody here "sees to it" that anybody's posts are deleted or hidden, except for the moderating team.  If someone refers us to a post that they think should be removed, whether it's a post written by somebody else or one that they wrote themselves but later had second thoughts about, we'll certainly take it under consideration, but any and all moderating decisions are entirely our own.

So he's now insinuated that Tommy bribes his critics and has the moderators here in his back pocket.  I wonder if he can offer any support for those claims, because if he's just assuming the worst intentions and making unsubstantiated accusations on that basis, that to me is sufficient grounds for being blocked from this thread.

Man, this thread is descending into vices, potential bribes and pure pettiness.

I don't understand it.  I can understand that someone might objectively have doubts about the viability of the Amico venture, or that Tommy's style might rub them the wrong way, but to allow oneself to get worked up over a video game console to the point of behaving this way and flinging accusations of this kind is just crazy.  As much as certain people like to paint the moderators here as power-tripping dictators, we're actually very slow on the draw to issue bans on anyone; we usually resort to that option only after several attempts to address the problem in some other way.  At this point, it looks as if I don't have any other choice.

I enjoy coming here and reading people’s thoughts on the new console, and appreciate Tommy letting us peak behind the curtain to see a few things not available elsewhere...but I’m probably gonna wait for my correspondence via email for all things Intellivision.

FYI Next Level Gaming has put up a YouTube scheduled event in 4 days: An Evening With Tommy Tallarico

From the title it sounds like Tommy will just be playing some smooth Jazz ;) but I bet he will get some Amico stuff in there too

I find posts like these funny where you can change a word to something else and it still works. None of us know if it will or won't and all of us have our own opinion as to why it might or might not.

I want it too, but also know it will be a battle. It is really hard right now without the marketing and only the PR stuff to know how it might do.

Someone asked a good question that I am curious about to. Beyond the FE will there be different bundles (beyond console color) that has more than two controllers?

I'm of the opposite of both.  I always take a wait and see before I give a final verse of my opinion.  Just like much of what I do.  Hold final thoughts and opinions until you are sure... Good or bad.

In the end, it's an entertainment device. If it looks fun, then people will buy it. If not, then they'll pass it by for a $5 deck of UNO.

I know! I also want it to be the best game machine it can be, and the games on it worth every penny, but Amico will not be a life saving CPAP machine that people need to survive the night. To get worked so up for it is just stress inducing.
